I think their is actually no problem if a newbie wants to take loan and purchase bitcoin for a long term investment. Why? Being exposed to this forum can make even a newbie an expert in no time especially if he is truly here to learn, the varse knowledge the forum provides is always enough for serious newcomers who are willing to learn to fully equpt themselves on the basic knowledge on how a bitcoin investment works. You can acquire a long term loan with low interest rate you can be able to pay back for such motives.
Let's be honest with each other, as a newbie even if you are in the forum and you are ready to learn, I won't still advice any newbie to take loan to invest, you can't join the forum and learn everything within a short period of time, even high rank members in the forum are still learning, as a newbie it will be kind of difficult for them to just keep on looking at their money reducing after investing, and the funniest part is the money those not even belong to them, some might definitely panic and sell at lose. If you are investing in bitcoin, always invest any amount you can afford to lose.

Something I have learnt from gambling, is never gamble with borrowed funds because you will be playing with targets in mind which could be unrealistic and you end up being greedy.... Solution here, lets just live within our means!

Btw a loan is a liability on its own, and having to take out a loan to invest in another asset increases your risk exposure. What happens if the investment goes south and you went all in on it... It means you not only lose out on the loan, but you will also be running in negatives with the crypto investment... meaning you have lost 2 items in one shot. Let's contain our risk appetite to maintain good financial relationships with business contacts, friends and family.

If someone invests by taking a loan from someone, then he will always have two tensions in his head, number 1 is when he will be able to repay the loan and another tension that he will not lose his assets. Because we know that investing in Bitcoin and other Crypto industries involves a lot of risk because you can't tell when the market will go in which direction. So I think it is better to invest some part of your own money instead of taking loan.

I heard that there were people who invested in crypto, and ended up buying crypto and their money from loans, but it's a shame they suffered losses because they invested in altcoins, but they lacked knowledge and lessons about crypto.

Even if they invested in bitcoin with borrowed funds, they may incur losses due to the market's volatility. Borrowed money has a payback period and may force an investor to exit the market when he or she is already trading at a loss. A prepared trader will not trade money that he or she cannot afford to lose in cryptocurrency because they are already aware of the potential risk that comes with investing in them.

I think that you should change the title but it's up to you if you change it or not and I don't mind if it stays like that. Anyway, it's up to them if they want to invest in crypto using their money from loans ans there's nothing wrong with that unless you don't have a job to pay the loan if you didn't earn profit the investment. What I can say about the situation is that they invest without research that results in losing profit. As what others said that taking consideration is important which you can have a plan for the loan if you are planning to invest using it.

so true. crypto even has a very high risk. and if someone invests in crypto with borrowed money then i think he has doubled the risk taken. even I doubted whether he would still have peace of mind. investing with borrowed money will actually make it easier for someone to feel panicked. and panic in investing can be fatal. then it is appropriate for us to avoid borrowing money to invest.
Taking loan to invest in bitcoin is not really bad but you have to put some things into consideration. If you are taking any loan make sure your repayment period shouldn't be a short term, make sure the interest you are paying on the loan is not really much, make sure the loan you carried should be invested on bitcoin alone, make sure it should be any amount you can pay back even if anything happens to the coin you bought. Incase if anyone is planning to take loan to invest in bitcoin, the person should be a professional, newbies should stay away from taking loan to invest.
It is good advice for newbies to stay away from taking loans to invest in Bitcoin or any cryptocurrency. Why should they?  I mean, unless as a newbie here, you had experience trading or have invested in crypto and have a basic knowledge of how to go about it, why would you try to rob Peter to pay Paul.i.e., why take a loan to invest in crypto?
Even those who are experienced enough know how hard it is to take a loan to invest in crypto, because any mistake due to poor investment strategy might result in debt and deficit.  Always seek advice from a mentor with proven track record of investment in crypto, mostly as a newbie, before trying out investing in crypto.

Regardless of whether without or making aoan, IMO - investing in crypto is high risk. The risks are real but can be minimized if you are willing to study hard. Markets sometimes don't work the way we expect, prices can move in all directions and it's hard to keep them stable.

Start with yourself before you make a loan, and I never recommend loans to invest in crypto even if they have collateral. It doesn't matter if you only have a $100 or $200 investment budget [you'll be fine], as long as it's yours then you'll never be weighed down by other things like overdue loan payments.

...But I will like to ask a general question. What if the loan was given to you and the person who gave you the loan does not really mind when you pay back or if you pay back? Is that kind of money good to be invested in cryptocurrency most especially bitcoins?

He/she could not mind, but as a loaner, you still have to make sure you don't smear your reputation if that is something you care about, because this can resonate far within family and community.

This is something that can have a cumulative effect over time, it can make or brake your future chances of making any kind of progress in life.

I wonder where anyone would get such kind of loans  Roll Eyes, but if you somehow manage to get this kind of fund it is good for any investment. But invest all in bitcoin in 2-3 years you will get enough profit to repay the loan and take profit for yourself. Always plan for long term holding with bitcoin and don't don't go for day trading you might lose all of your assets.

I heard that there were people who invested in crypto, and ended up buying crypto and their money from loans, but it's a shame they suffered losses because they invested in altcoins, but they lacked knowledge and lessons about crypto. but with this incident it made me think that investing in crypto should not result from loans because,,,
will make the mind uneasy, and always in the shadow of the deposit every month.

so in my opinion, don't invest from borrowed money because there will be potential losses, what do you think, do you agree with me?

I agree to some extent you can borrow and invest as long as you can pay it and you are investing in coins that have proven their worth in the market, one example of this is, it's a bear market and you trust that the market reached the floor and you have money coming in but it will take weeks or months to receive and there's a possible loss of opportunity, so your only option is to get a loan but be sure not to get a loan from a loan shark.
What's not worth or should be avoided is taking a loan without a guarantee of where to get payment and investing in new coins because of the hype, this is very risky and will result in a loss.
A new investor is highly motivated to invest in crypto. At one point he plans to borrow money to invest due to the hype, which later causes a major disaster for the investor. There are bubbles in crypto that can burst at any time. It is often suggested that an investor invest only as much as he can afford to lose. If you invest with borrowed money, it is good if you make profit, but if you make loss, you have to lose from all sides. Those who have sufficient means of payment are generally the ones who are apt to borrow, otherwise their borrowing money will become a great curse.

Well, if this person understands all the risks that you will not repay the loan to him, then you can do anything with money, including investing in bitcoin. But such people are actually very difficult to find who are willing to part with their money, unless it's about parents.

You have to realize that the money from the loan is not yours, but when the initial plans don't go as expected, the risk will be yours. It is not recommended to invest in Cryptocurrency using borrowed money, cycles of investors who dare to descend into the crypto market with borrowed money very rarely end in profits. Apart from having to pay interest to the lender, investments with borrowed money are very likely to suffer multiple losses.

This topic already has had plenty opinions which I am sure many do not agree that loans are not ideal to be invested in cryptocurrency. But I will like to ask a general question. Even when I was a newbie, I kept hearing it a hundred times about investing an amount we can only afford to lose. Loan proceeds are not savings, it is not extra money and it is not an amount we can afford to lose.

I'm just sharing my current situation. I've been mentioning even here in the forum too that I am tempted to sell my house in order to invest more into crypto, especially on bitcoin while the halving is nearly a year away. So just today, some of my crypto friends advised me to just take a loan and make my house collateral in order to bargain lower interest rates. Not that I will follow their advice but I am so surprised that they were already taking loans earlier. What surprised me most is their interest rates ranging from 0.39% to 0.69% per month up to 3 years. I just can't believe especially that 0.39% because the standards in my country's loan interests ranged from 18% to 24% per annum.

if you use borrowed money to buy altcoins in this category > no track record yet - reputation - use case - new project, then I guarantee 1000% you will lose.

Even if you invest in reputable altcoins, topcoin has no guarantee you won't lose. There is no guarantee that a reputable project will not collapse, investing in altcoins is more like gambling than investing. Looking at CMC, I barely see the top altcoins of 2017 anymore, some have been replaced, some are gone forever. I don't hate altcoins but when investing in altcoins, define it as gambling.

Altcoin projects always introduce new technologies, utilities, and use cases...but have any projects been applied in practice yet? Not yet, all it's a game of pumping and dumping.

First of all, even if you use your cold money, basic knowledge of what you are going to buy is very important because many people cannot tell the difference between bitcoin and altcoins and when they see the price of bitcoin, they choose altcoins whose prices are much lower due to lack of that understanding.

so in my opinion, don't invest from borrowed money because there will be potential losses, what do you think, do you agree with me?

I don't recommend borrowing money for crypto investments, but if you have the ability to pay in installments per month, why not give it a try? some time ago I managed to buy bitcoin at $17k with borrowed money and now if I sell, I am already profitable but I have no intention because I intend to pay in installments from my side income.

Here's where they made the mistake, first they were new and ignorant then secondly they wanted quick gains due to greediness. Loans are that bad but don't go for it when you're still a newbie and yet to familiarize with what is happening in the industry. You know most newbies are yet to understand that the market moves in circle in the sense that we have different market seasons. This noobs think the greens they're seeing in the market will continue forever and this clouds their judgement then in cases when the capital been used are borrowed money then the cause more problems for themselves.

Newbies are also known to chase after the hype not knowing that, in this industry, hypes come and go. Basically as a newbie you should avoid any other source of capital that isn't spare funds that if they get missing you won't be worried because you'll definitely lose money before you can make money in the industry. Invest small so your learning stage won't involve you risking much so it doesn't lead to discouragement.
