I think the cryptocurrency will always have new products, but the value of Bitcoin cannot be changed. Bitcoin as the first cryptocurrency means that its status cannot be surpassed.

Bitcoin has gone too far, but only ethereum has the likely potential of bitcoin, the chances is slim for other cryptocurrency to overtake bitcoin.
Not even eth has a chance, it is one of the best coins and you should always have some since it gives such a huge profits but bitcoin has such a huge advantage that I do not think any coin is going to ever be able to catch up, there are only two possibilities in my mind either bitcoin crashes and disappears or another going incredibly revolutionary like bitcoin was at the time appears and take its place and none of those is very likely.

This will be difficult but i see eth price moving closer to btc in future because of the smart contracts features... The one opportunity bitcoin is having is because its pioneer..

ETH has great opportunities. Ethereum is a progress based on the blockchain principle supporting bitcoins, but having a goal that does not compete with Bitcoin. However, the popularity and growing market capitalization of Ether makes it compete with all cryptocurrencies, especially from the point of view of trade. Currently, Ether (ETH) market limit is more than Ripple and Litecoin, even though it is far behind Bitcoin (BTC). Generally Bitcoin and Ethereum are different versions using blockchain technology and are ready to be established, driven by different intentions.

Is crypto currencies only valuable to the extent that others are coordinated on valuing them?
For a new currency to get traction, it would somehow have to have some kind of unusual advantage over bitcoin.
Maybe a government would outlaw bitcoin or maybe a flaw discovered in the bitcoin protocol.
It would make it easy to switch to another tested currency.
It’s been pointed out that Bitcoin isn’t as anonymous as everyone thought it to be but that hasn’t really stopped people from ditching it for any crypto currency but I still believe that the cryptos have a chance in the near future though. It sure is possible that some altcoin could take over, but that won't be that easy. If Bitcoin transactions are fast and cheap, there will be more demand and that would make it very hard for other cryptocurrencies to replace Bitcoin.

The higher the cost of bitcoin, the closer it will be to its end. The high cost of bitcoin will simultaneously pose a big risk to its holders. The high cost of bitcoin will force them to constantly monitor the news in order to avoid possible losses and any negative information can cause a panic that will trigger an irreversible process of devaluation of bitcoin. Sooner or later this will happen all the time and then another crypto currency will have a chance to repeat the path of bitcoin. To prevent this, the Crypto-currency should not grow in price due to a sharp increase in speculative demand, and develop harmoniously, without going far from the other crypto currency in the price plan.

of course they do have chance and the moment when btc stops developing itself, decrease in domination I am sure that very fast another coin would jump in the king seat.

Cryptocurrencies has different Blockchains and with this different kind of Blockchains, they have their own platforms and own programs to follow. Bitcoin is too far for them to surpass but it is possible to be known thru the wide range of usage of one specific Blockchain. This cryptocurrencies might help a country if utilized properly and the spread of knowledge about this technology is also helping a lot of countries so i think that it can happen anytime and depends on how people uses it.

To me, i think bitcoin is far ahead. You will be surprised that most people dont even know much about the cryptocurrency world, all they know is bitcoin, bitcoin. Some dont even know that there are other forms of cryptos apart from bitcoin.And more over, the manner in which bitcoin is being asked as a form of payment in different types of online transactions gives it the advantage over the others. Ethereum is also being asked for , but the main one is always bitcoin. You quite agree with me that anyone that wants to start doing cryptos always thinks of buying bitcoin, and i think that is the advantage too.So to me,i dont see any other crypto overtaking bitcoin, not somewhere soon.

I think that there will be a small chance but as of now, there is no currency where can achieve what bitcion have achieve. There will be a chance if a new cryptocurrency introduce with a promising project.

Bitcoin has the first mover advantage, but that doesn't mean it is guaranteed a seat at the head of the pack forever. Other crypto-currencies have a chance to succeed alongside bitcoin. Success isn't necessarily driven by being the most expensive coin. Adoption is a necessary hurdle that even bitcoin can still make large strides in. I could see certain countries naming official digital currencies that are not bitcoin, to try to bypass any scaling issues that bitcoin has faced. That being said, any new crypto-currency will need to show some unique value that proves it is not just another BTC clone.
I believe you are right. Although bitcoin has gone very far in its price as compared to other coins, it does not mean it will last forever.
Though, the volatility of bitcoin is what brings profit to traders, I still think it is one of the major reasons why people are deserting bitcoin to invest in other coins.
Besides, if nation's government support some of these coins, I believe they may have a chance though it may a very long time to achieve that.

I think in nearest future we will have a lot of crypto-currencies. The number of ICO and ITO can prove it). And this is good.
But I'm sure that the blcokchaine community have to make more faster and cheapper exchange.

That bitcoin is ahead of other currencies by capitalization it's a question of time. There are many other projects with a strong potential, I think that the bitcoins have a future like at rare cars or paintings of famous artists ))

I dont think any other coins can have a chance because bitcoin is to far ahead. Everyone that starts working with cryptocurrencies learn first about bitcoin and only after that about other ICO's and altcoins so that bitcoin is the most popular coin and also the most used by the people.
The only way that a coin can become bigger than bitcoin is if it is going to be created by a government or a very powerful organization that millions of people use and that is possible to happen because there are many projects that involve Blockchain technology with a lot of industries.

do not you like bitcoin? and if you like bitcoin what do you like bitcoin? if you know the answer to these questions then you can say why the altcoins will not be the same as bitcoin, first bitcoin does not have a creator that we know, so it creates a feeling where each person believes to be part of something very great, something revolutionary, you do not knows who is satoshi this is exactly why you admire this satoshi and this is different from the altcoins that we know who are their creators and their reputations that often are not good reputations

I agree that Bitcoin has gone far ahead. But this is only the current situation. In the future, everything can drastically change. Take at least the fact that Bitcoin itself has long ceased to be homogeneous - it splits into parts that feel no worse than the original. I think that in the future, Altcoins,even if they do not beat Bitcoin, they will definitely cease to be secondary projects.

Bitcoin has a huge advantage because it is the first cryptocurrency and the devs are the best and the concept of bitcoin is very well thought, however altcoins have a chance to gain some market if they do something bitcoin can't, for example bitcoin is not anonymous at all and so anonymity coins like monero or dash have a market they can keep for themselves, but if a coin is just another bitcoin copy then we can say that coin is destined to fail.
