Actually market is very free, but I agree with that we need regulations related to ico. I think such regulations will have a good effect on the market in the long term.
I agree with you, we just follow what is set by the government, because the exchange cryptocurrency ends end in rupiah currency, where rupiah is the legitimate currency in the country.
Moreover, Payment Processing Transaction is regulated in Bank Indonesia Regulation Number 18 Year 2016.
I am a good citizen, I follow the rules of my government.

Yes for sure. For every place/ mode of exchange there should be proper regulations on it. So that people cannot be cheated and as well as the financial institutions. After the rules and regulations all the people would know about the proper rules and no one would breach them.

Regulations help to prevent scams and they help the society if taxes on crypto profits are paid like on every other profit as well. Through that the public image of cryptocurrencies gets better. And when we have good publicity we get new people joining and investing in the crypto world. This is benifitial to all of us!

We definetely need regulations in crypto because if crypto is regulated by governments, more investors invest in crypto assets. Regulations are in fact good for crypto.

I think there will be a need for regulation, to what degree? I have no idea. Regulation will bring forth a good and orderly system,
it filters everything clean and avoid or minimize scams in the future. ICOs are the main candidates for regulation since it
involves funds and lots of money to meet their caps. Though regulations will also catch publicity and this will
will be a sensitive topic then on. Governments are in the best position for regulation. Maybe through
the said proposed regulation cryptocurrency will be accepted globally by governments. Henceforth
the probable sole solution for all the issues concerning crypto.

How do you guys think? Do we need regulations in the crypto world? Should only ICO be regulated or legit coins (not "security tokens") too? Can we implement regulations mechanisms in code so that corrupted governmental institutions couldn't manipulate the industry? Can we still have free market with governments' regulations across the world?

Please, share your thoughts. I'm a bit confused about what's happening right now.

At least we need some regulations to protect ourselves from scammers and the so called "exit scams". We do not need any regulation to prevent people from investing their money as they wish.

Do we need governmental ICO regulations or could there be any market-driven forces that prevent the very existence of scammers? Could we implement regulations on blockchain or any other decentralized technology and get rid of incompetent governments? I mean could we have the rules in code so that nobody could violate them?

Yes, as I see how ICOs scam investors, we badly need it right now but I think government should have a clear rules and regulations on the cryptocurrency and ICOs and I think it would be better  if all of the states that will adopt cryptocurrency will have the same rules and regulations for their countrymen so that the confusion of this rules would be eliminated.

I think we need rules.
Because, basically human nature is greedy. Now with the many regulations issued by the crypto and the government there are still many people who abuse it especially if there is no regulation at all.
I agree, we need rules. But couldn't some basic rules be implemented in the code and leave the rest for the market to decide? Why do we need governments to decide for us? We have trustless (i.e. there's no need to be trusted) consensus mechanisms. There is and there will be many new tech solutions that could potentially replace the whole institutions.

Could you imagine a vast majority of governmental institutions be replaced with a few scripts that don't require billions of dollars to function?

For the government to accept the existence of Crypto, I think we should follow this regulation thingy. For the world to adapt on BTC, Alts and ICO's we need to follow the governments move.

Why shouldn't governments adapt? I guess that's what they are supposed to do in the first place - adapt to new realities as they appear and help helpless members of society to adapt. And their first rule should be "Do no harm". With bitcoin, blockchain and consensus mechanisms we don't need governments' and especially banks anymore. Any interference will break "the first rule".

Many old member who help to find scam project and safe many people, thanks for them. We actually help each other in this forum, if someone know that the project is scam then he or she can give negative thrust to them. But unfortunately sometimes there are bounty participants and the manager of bounty still scamed by develeoper, not all developer is only wants money there are still good developer with a good will that still exist to bring benefit to anyone. I hope people stop scam other people.

When something is not regulated at all it turns to chaos, so we need regulation to avoid using cryptos in criminal world and smth like this. But the whole idea of blockchain is decentraliszing and it this case governments should be very soft in regulations.

There is ba lot of way to do criminal using crypto so i agree in regulation, we need that to avoid people who abuse crypto or want to use crypto in bad thing.

Only ICO's should be regulated since most of the scam actvities is coming from the ICO's. But in terms of crypto I think it should not be regulated because it will only make the coins expensive and can easily manipulated by the politician.

of course, regulations are needed to maintain a balance in a country, and other things in which there must be a wrong and right element in it. In addition to equilibrium, regulations are also made as benchmarks or parameters of society against a thing. When it is said to be a violation and when it is still considered something reasonable. Thus, the law can be applied on the basis of the established rules.

Actually this thing has been polemic on all over the world, some people think that with regulations been made then it will solve every problem on bitcoin issue but with many regulations there will be more issue as well. Some of them even thinking that they do not need this regulations too, you can see from the past few years ago when bitcoin start to rise why they never have any issue with it. After it hit almost $20,000 then many things coming about regulations. I mean if they want to make regulations, it should be benefits for both side, not just on government side. With this no one will feel harmed

regulations are made to make the human lifestyle more orderly so that human life is more useful and human beings have a purpose in life, the rules are also made to regulate human interaction with other living things. With so humans do not feel to be the strongest and greatest to achieve harmony in the lives of living beings.

No, that is ONE of the key factor why people are into it. We are not regulated that means we are not controlled by someone and no one wanted to be controlled in short, FREEDOM!

It's true that we need freedom but not all the time because we also needs protection so if the government will regulate the use of cryptocurrency those evil doings can be prevented because of this order. It's better to have this than worrying about the safety of all our assets.
