It is important for our body does get the right amount of calories. Or we will not be able to live a healthy life. What you say of the astronauts I did not know this is how they survive up in space. 

The astronauts does this only because he does not have any choices.  I do not think there will be a time for humans to want to have his own water from his waste.

yes I need more food. Because, many people come around me who can't eat properly in 1 meal. So I need so much food that I can feed them properly. The lack of clothes is not that much, the lack of accommodation is not that much. But the lack of food is much more difficult. So I want more food.  Embarrassed Cry

Well, all your body needs is calories which should be 1800 calories per day for a person to be healthy, so its your choice how you want to take it and how much you want to take it, so if you concede more than your body need then it becomes fat leads to obesity and if its upside down the body will take the energy from the stored fat but its just usually a backup which can work for a while.


Although I agree with you, calories alone cannot meet the vitamin needs of humans. In short, we need a balanced diet every day.
Which will meet our daily vitamin needs and we will all be able to live a healthy and normal life

The amount of food each person needs for our comfortable life depends on the person's age, gender, amount of physical work, health condition, etc. It is seen that children and the elderly need more food than adults.
Because they are much weaker than adults, they need more vitamins.
On the other hand, if people eat more food than they need, they will become physically ill. Because people have a certain amount of vitamins that they can take naturally every day. Whenever the amount of vitamin-like food increases beyond this, the human body will be affected by various diseases.
So I think every person needs natural food to stay healthy.

Astronaut just eat a pill containing multi-vitamins, and they also just drink the recycled water from wastes.

They do not have the luxury of sending a lot of freshly prepared foods from the earth to the moon everyday.

How much food do you think we need to live comfortably?

10 pounds a day of meats and cheese?
Food intake should be balanced according to the needs of each one of us for good health and proper use of natural resources.For a human being to eat 10 pounds of meat and a cheese a day is a bit unrealistic, wasteful and unhealthyThe daily need for quality food depends not on the quantity of food, but we should learn from the astronauts how to achieve more with less.

Our Body demand only enough food for a day , but this is depending in what we are needing and wanting to our body , some wanted to gain much so they eat a lot , some wanted to maintain their fitness so they lessen their intake and others wanted to lose weight so they tend to eat even lesser .
what we need to understand is too much is bad and too less is also bad.

Of course I am not willing to compromise on food because food is a very favorite thing for everyone especially the variety of food is very interesting for us and the flowers give us great satisfaction so we must never compromise on this food.  I don't think it will so food is very necessary for us to maintain our body shape in our daily life

Nyah personally, i don't need that much of food during a day, i just need a little bit for my stomach, just to help it not to disturb me during the day or in work, yes it's good to each a lot and to have a good consummation program, and eat healthy food and, but it's nit danger if you eat just a little bit

I'm not really into food , I only eat twice a day and I hate sweet foods (aside from fruits of course)
so basically i only consume so little from what OP is asking maybe 2 pounds of meat and a little pasta and side dish?

and also determined by our budget? because even if we wanted to eat more but we are
not capable to buy more then we may end dieting  Grin

you eat 2lb of meat but cant afford vegetables..
try 1/4pound of meat 2x a day (half lb of meat a day) and use money saved to add more sustenance to the mix

meat and pasta doesnt give you full range of nutrients. add some vegetables or ingredients with varied flavouring

They have no option in space so yeah they must eat what is available but the problem is that in our houses we have lot of available food and its hard to resist.

Right?? Food for astronauts are different. They have limited storage when theyre in space so they carefully design astronaut diets to meet nutritional needs while considering factors like weight and preservation. They are not meant to stay there forever and eat like that forever.
Everyone just need enough food to live. Some are just privileged enough to have more and some are unfortunate tonhave less. The best we can do is to share and eat food as we live right?

of course with Vegetables or greens to be specific ot those leafy vegetables.
I think the amount of food we consume, is determined by our stomach. Humans have different modes of eating and this modes of eating ranges from the amount we have been consuming right from childhood, while some are based on the body system which Natural comsumes alot of food. While some are medical issues which need to be attended to. But In all, non should be compared to astronots who stays in space where there is no good food or enough food like Earth, which has somany things.

in Our country , you are lucky if you can manage to eat at least 1 pound of meat a day because we are a carbohydrates country .
meaning we only have small portion of meat and plenty of rice , while Cheese? we are lucky to have cheese for a week  time Grin..

but now that I am Diabetic ? i stopped eating rice and instead goes to veggies and meat now (of course added expenses )

i suggest that we pick the food we consume very carefully and control how much of it will be good even some fruits, albeit healthy, still have so much sugar that if we eat a lot of it it might be dangerous
Yeah, sugar is addictive and that's why when we're kids we like it and even as adults, it's still addicting. I am trying to pick and monitor my intakes especially with drinks because they're tasty, the sugary drinks aka sodas.

I am not an athlete and usually sits a long time but I do some of the workouts that I need when I go out and make sure that I sweat a lot. That's why even if I eat sometimes too much, I can still manage.

I think that we should stay healthy and consume just as much as our body needs to function
i guess it's just a matter of being picky and whatnot

I don't think that we need a lot of food everyday. Look at the Japanese people, they only eat what they body needs and they don't get full every meal.

We only need what our body needs, not too much ,for too much of every thing is bad . Of our various ages  we eat our balance diet ,starting from a toddler to the aged .
 We have to consider our health issues,expiring date ,type  if it is for you or not, when eating any food ,the food must be quality enough to meet our body nutrients  In other to avoid malnutrition .we eat to live not live to eat ,too much of every thing is bad
