I saw a thread earlier asking about Philippine based or targeted coins, and there have been a few attempts at a country coin. Is this really something that we are interested in?

The purposes for others was for remittances, for general investing, for bills payments and banking, for OFWs, for rewards, for points.

Would we like something similar to Bitcoin ATMs where you can buy and sell on a machine?

Do we want a free airdrop? Or an ICO? Or a mixture of both? (Bounties of course will be available.)

Discuss.

But i dont see any point putting up a coin kung bitcoin palang wala ideya ang karamihan dito sa pilipinas

If you mean gumawa ng sarili nating coins.

Makakuha tayo ng maraming support kung its not done by ICO yung POW/POS. Problema nga lang no commitment unless makahanap ng team na willing to work for free.

No one is willing to work for free. Maybe it's possible, but if you have any sort of POW or POS, the coin will eventually get to a point of centralization. Baka maging offshore hosted or rent a miner or ganun.

POS pwede pa, or some variation that include Delegation DPOS, or POSP, or meron masternodes with at least 100 to 200 people who will help secure the network, lahat yan need to be paid or have incentive.

ICO lang talaga ang paraan, unless meron ka kilala na may few million dollar to get this started. I can't hire devs who work for free. You can't have signature campaign and posters work for free.

What we want is a real altcoin with it's own blockchain, not some token that is under Ethereum or Classic, or Waves or the like. Meron na nakita ilan na ICO o crowdsale ng mga tokens din, which is good for fund raising. In the end dapat meron hiwalay na network and not dependent on an existing platform.

Also hindi sure kung PoW or PoS or whatever. Medyo malabo as is.

Kimi Cojuanco ung ganyan bagay.

Mas maganda kung meron mga iba pang gagawa ng altcoin na made in the philippines, yung may original blockchain at hindi based on some altcoins.

Sa ngayon po may ginagamit po kaming coins sa small community or group of people dito sa Davao which we use po to buy things and this coins is created by group of miners dito sa atin. Yong coins po ay under with Ethereum Blockchain. Not allowed pa po ako to mention its name, just to ask permission pa po sa Admin namin kung pwede na.

this can be a good opportunity, kapag masusuportahan ng local government, private and public banks. it can help the economy grow din, dahil marami ang potensyal ng cryptocurrency

Ang balak naten is just a new altcoin that can do everything we need it to do, have a more or less stable (as far as crypto is concerned) value, maski volatile sa umpisa, give others who protect the network an incentive to do so by earning (such as PoS / staking / delegation / masternode / something anything) at meron jump started businesses like ATMs and remittances that we can offer.

The best that a private entity can do would be something like Globe GCash or Smart Money, and all the others that have some sort of rewards, but those are for different purposes na. However we want to focus on cryptocurrency, desktop and mobile wallets. I'd even avoid an online wallet unless it's one that can separate your private key or just merely connect to the network (like myetherwallet, but not like coins.ph)

Another alternative is something like tether, pero wala tayong backing for that kind of campaign or infrastructure, need hundreds of millions of dollars for that.

Wow magandang plan po yan, papatok po yan siguro by the future kasi sa ngayon wala pa gaanong nakakaalam or konti palang dito sa pilipinas ang may alam about it siguro mas maganda the more na may makaalam the better.

Would we like something similar to Bitcoin ATMs where you can buy and sell on a machine?
