Definitely a big NO. A teacher should set a good example for the young ones. If teachers carry around guns, violence will look acceptable to those young children.
How much are these teachers being paid in the first place and now the government wants to add a security role to their already tedious job. The government should just hire the proper personnel to protect the children when they are at schools and not make the teacher do this kind of job.

Simple question. When there is a shooting, what is the most prudent response? Call the good guys with guns. Problem is response time is an average of 10-15 minutes at best. That is a long time for some one who wants to cause harm, to cause harm unimpeded.

Please explain to me how having trained individuals willing to protect children risking THEIR OWN LIFE in the process and reducing response time is a bad idea. Please do refrain from using wild West shootout cliches to make your argument and stick to facts. Thanks.

Guns are already banned in most schools. Clearly it isn't working. Criminals don't give a shit about laws. Who knew?

Some do. Some don't. Many students and their parents see a military high school as a logical first step down the path to military service at some point. But it is just that: the first step. Going to college is the second step. Military service is the third step.
Military schools can help your child develop good habits of discipline and structure. Just about anything worth doing well requires lots of discipline. Discipline takes hard work, persistence, stamina and time. Children need to learn how to work hard, be persistent, develop stamina and patience. A military school education can help provide the structure to accomplish those aims.

I think this is utter stupidity. Why try to solve a problem that has an apparent solution otherwise? I believe this is just like a facade to make it seem like something is being done. Why should we subject kids of that age to so much interaction with ammunition? What makes schools different from a warzone then? Enact proper laws concerning gun control like every other developed country. Then watch things turn around fast. But being in bed with the IRA will never permit them to have such courage. Every other excuse given is just some cover-up story.

Due to the recent gun shut attacked in the school. President Donald Trump proposed that teachers should be going to school with guns. He gave his own reason quoted below
"During an emotional discussion at the White House, Mr Trump said his plan for guns in schools would mean about one fifth of teachers receiving special training and carrying concealed weapons"
Do you think this is a nice idea from the world president?

Since we don't have a world president, there is no way to determine if this would be a good idea from one.

Guns in the hands of school faculty would give them a chance to protect themselves and students from criminal shooters. Or does someone think that school boards are in the habit of hiring criminal shooters as teachers?

That’s not even a good idea. The whole point is to be safe, not make the children more scared than they were. Seeing, knowing and hearing their teachers have guns would make them think there will be another incident like before. It could also trigger some students to steal the gun and use it on their classmates. Children and minors shouldn’t be anywhere near these weapons. It’s dangerous.

I think this is a very stupid idea, the teacher is there to teach the students not to fight, the teacher does not need weapons, the teacher just need to give knowledge to his students.
if this is realized there may be many students who feel pressured by this policy, it will be a psychological schoolchild of children in school

I think almost teachers are not violence people , maybe they will be scared if they draw the gun , and it will be more dangerous . Even they will be trained , they are not soldiers , so no one can make sure that they can control guns when we got terrorists . So my opinion is just more security , but it's complicated because "THIS IS AMERICAN" ......!!

Why not. If someone is prejudiced against the gunmen standing on the podium then think again. It comes from the passion of work or at least they have chosen for themselves a useful work for the society rather than the inexperience of the profession and expect the government subsidy

I don't think it is a terrible idea. I wouldn't want to force the teachers to carry a gun if they didn't want to. I think it should be a concealed carry thing. Honestly, it is impossible to get rid of guns. if the school isn't getting attacked with an assault rifle than its getting attacked with a shotgun, or a handgun, or a pipe bomb. None of that is going to stop. there are to many guns in circulation for that. Its just plain unrealistic.

I have personally been in environments where almost everyone had guns. They were all trained to handle and use them. they all knew how to care for them etc. The guns were all out in the open and everyone knew. I didn't find it to be hostile in any way and the guns themselves weren't a big deal.

The idea behind having teachers with guns is that someone with bad intentions knows that if they try anything wild they will be met with appropriate force in response. that is their deterrent.

I have heard of several people that were in violent situations and had stated to the media that they wish that they had a gun to protect themselves. I know that I personally would prefer to have the ability to fight back.

historically over most period of human history the schools teachers were in one or the other form intertwined with the military of a society, take the medieval schaolin monks in china, they werent just cultural and educative, but also militaristic, or the medieval nobility schools

I mean it is really a tough issue because more and more often in the USA kids are getting killed and they are getting targeted because they are defenseless so there has to be some sort of defense mechanism put in place. Maybe carrying a gun isn't the correct solution maybe it is, but I don't think banning guns is the answer either. But the fact of the matter is psychotic people are getting their hands on guns and killing innocent people so something must be done.

I strongly disagree, before I apologize if my word is wrong ..
I do not agree because it can harm students,
Sometimes there are students who are naughty, but is it worth it if there is a naughty student then the teacher pointed a gun to the student, is it not dangerous?
Hopefully this can be reconsidered ..

In my opinion, I dont think allowing the teachers to carry a gun at school is a good idea. Maybe  can carry it outside  school for their own safety, but should not be carried inside. I dont think the students can focus on their lessons knowing that their teachers have guns inside their bags.

In chaotic times like these I think it's Ok. The teachers won't kill their students, they would use weapons only to protect them, if needed. Guns aren't evil, people using them may be. And when there is an evil person using a gun, it's better you have a good person near you with a gun too...

Thieves, criminals, psychopaths will never follow the law. You can forbid guns, but they will keep armed, while the good citizens, following the law will be slayed without the minimum chance to defend themselves.

The problem is with gun laws. "army teachers" will not help the cause, they should look at why the shootings are happening, people will still get killed- army teacher or no army teacher.

I don't think that teachers should have gun with them while studying. I do not think that it is a good idea from the world president to say it because of these reasons. First, I think that it would make students uncomfortable and it would become very difficult for them to concentrate and focus to their studies knowing that their teachers has a gun that in a blink of an eye may use it and shoot whatever and whoever. Second, educational institutions should promote peace and order. But if teachers has a gun, isn't it violence that they are promoting? How can they teach everyone with peaceful talks if yhey themselves has a violent thing? Lastly, I think that it is way beyond the teachers mandate and work. We could just let the security personnel carey a gun and do their thing.

No, its a bad idea. What if a teacher with a gun decided to shoot somebody? I believe the problem lies within their restrictions and qualifications to owned and possessed a firearm. That is the simplest answer why shooting incidents are increasing in the U.S.
Because its easy to owned a gun and a lot of people are carrying guns in the U.S, their government should impose stricter laws about it and citizens who want to owned a gun should pass through tough examinations with advanced psychological testing and other higher qualification process.
Giving a teacher a gun merely scratch the surface and it wont solve the problem.
