Considering the fact that most bitcoin users are male, I would say it is likely.

No, there are some ridiculous conspiracy theorists that think Satoshi is a front for a secret NSA project, but everyone knows Satoshi is really a front for a secret CIA project.

lol

I never thought of Satoshi's gender, now I've gotta think for a moment Smiley

I have always assumed Satoshi was a male because of all the news and stories I've read, and most of them depict him as a male. Also, it's a male name. But now, I think of 'Satoshi Nakamoto' is a group of people, mostly built up of males. That is what I now assume.

Of course he was a male. We all know there are no females on this message board, or even the internet for that matter  Grin. Seriously though, I think it's safe to say satoshi was a male or at least a group of males, though I suppose a woman could have been among them. I guess we'll never know.

You can't assume satoshi was a male. He is a male. I've check out some of his various social profiles, including the first decentralised Bitcoin post, explaining the break-through

The best theory I think is him being an alien, but honestly, with this kind of technology you keep your identity secret for sure.

No i think Satoshi is the superior gender of all.... meaning bisexual.

Shouldn't we be hoping for a hermaphrodite? That would be the wisest of them all, or the most pissed off and clueless about either gender. I'm not sure.

Darwin even said that himself, the most superior species would be one with no gender (hence bisexual).

He also believes god is one himself.

I know a couple of bisexuals. They seemed just as gendery as anyone else to me. I would be more impressed and maybe less surprised if Satoshi turned out to be an ant colony.

Truly, there is no such thing as a 100% straight person as there is no 100% ever in life(Everything is subjective, nothing can ever be completely certain), everyone is bisexual to some degree, no matter how small or insignificant.

Also, there's definitive proof that there is no god.

And finally, Satoshi Nakamoto is a common male Japanese name. Therefore, the person/s behind nakamoto are much more likely to be male.

Seriously, seriouscoin?
Well-placed observers have noticed "Satoshi" is quietly making large donations to bisexual marriage lobby groups in at least 25 American states. Keeping substantial donations quiet is pretty hard these days.

My guess is that it was perhaps a group with one person in charge of interacting with the outside world to keep up the consistency of grammar, time zones etc. That person might also have been directing it and farming out the odd task.

I've no idea about gender. Boys rather than girls are more into computing and cryptography - ergo it was a group of bouncing baby boys, with maybe the odd feminoid chucked in too.

Just a code name for the project? It is pretty complete, almost error-free code for a single person to have done.*
*Part of Bitcoin is based on older projects.

'Satoshi' could be a highly educated American woman, a tripped-out Oriental female (pictured below), or perhaps a sexless alien from a distant planet.
Did the subject ever come up in his early posts?
Edit: "Satoshi" is usually a male name, but that could just be part of the cover.
Do you assume Satoshi was a Male?

My guess is it's a male because the demographics for electronic-software stuff is male, simply based on raw statistics.
