Yup. From my perspective, trading bitcoin or alts can be considered as gambling. When i trade i am researching coins same as some sports gambler research football teams. In both cases it is gamble if you dont have some reliable insider info.

If your planning for quick profits from trading means by day trading than trading is almost equal to gambling. But if you just buy coins and keep it for price appreciation than it is not gambling because in gambling you will lose all your money in one shot but in long term trading you will get a chance to take out some portion of your money or you can make some decent profits.

Another thing pointing to the fact that binary options etc is gambling is that they have an affiliate industry and bonus system that works exactly the same as for the established online casinos. We haven't seen that yet in the Bitcoin world, but they will probably start havinf "deposit bonuses" and affiliate revenue share deals at some point.

Trading is gambling unless you're big, smart or illegal enough to manipulate the market. This means that for everyone that reads the gambling section of an Internet forum, trading == gambling.

Well they are very similiar and for sure its almost the same thing, you throw your bitcoins into them with the speculation that those can give you profit, soo the difference is the time you can get those,as gambling in the most is instant and trading can last weeks ,days .

In a way they are the same but they are more different then you expect.
Trading can make you lose a portion of your money.
Gambling will make you lose all of your money..

A very important difference..

Well said. When you look at the altcoins it sure looks a lot like gambling. Because all of a sudden you own a bag of worthless coins while your money is gone.
But in general trading is very different and like you say with less risk.

You can look it like betting if an stock or divise will be higher or lower. But on trading you have a lot of information to study, graphics, waves. Its more like sport betting than roulette betting. On trading you need a bigger bankroll than on casino betting to win the same "if you are lucky".

Trading is another form of gambling but with a lesser risk and is also having one advantage, i,e. legality.

Gambling is totally dependent on the house edge + your luck. So you may have a chain of bad days if you become frustrated to get your lost money back.

Trading is a safe gambling since you can more or less predict the next outcome and can arrange your buy/sell orders accordingly.
Nowadays so many trading bots have bloomed which can automatically save your monetary outcome 24/7.

I personally don't because trading can be skilled based while gambling was all luck based.

But if we are going to base in technical terms, trading is considered gambling with the same nature of risk taking. Both have risks but I prefer trading not to be considered as gambling

Trading is not pure skill based though mostly in bitcoin term because bitcoin have no base that will support it so the price doesnt depends on anything but depends on some speculation though so for now I can say that trading bitcoin still based on luck to earn profit meanwhile gambling is pure luck no matter what game you played. Both of it will have the same risk to take but trading is far more better than gambling because of sure slowly profit
Even gambling can earn you profit if you bet wisely and slowly and it is not necessary to bet the entire amount as you can bet as minimum as 0.00001 which is not possible with trading where you need to be atleast 0.01 BTC to earn enough profit.
Yes, you got the point. Even gambling allows us to bet with very small amount, the winning ratio is high with trading in my experience. I also find trading is better as I don't like to gamble most of the time but both are almost the same.

Trading is more like betting. Betting on whether you think a altcoin will go up, or down. But there are more factors to factor in with trading, like what the altcoin has compared to another coin, and what is better. If the coin is good, then the price will go up.

betting on going up or going down? that seems like binary option. i really don't think betting was like trading. binary option is nice though, if you seek to try , check idsoption.com . i also find it fun Cheesy

Trading with profit all the times its almost impossible, you need some deep information and a lucky when you get into any altcoin being new or old the fact is how many time you can hold those investment,as it can go up and down for a while as doge were doing at 35 satoshis and went to 70 soo as others coins .We take a small risk at trading and well its almost the same that go to a dice website and try to get a reward, meaning roi and profit.
Of course it would be impossible to profit from every trade you make, but a good trader can make a consistent profit in the long term.
It does take a while to get to that level.

Indeed, I consider it as gambling because if you trade you can lose a lot, like you are gambling online.
Also if you think about the fact that its highly risky like gambling its pretty linkable to each other right ?

If you day trading yes, it is like gambling. But if you invest money for long term in good companies than it is not like gambling. It is like doing a business but your taking partnership with company so if they do better than you will be benefited. I don't think, investing for long term is a gambling.

You already said it that day trading is a gambling because some people tend to earn a little profit everyday and of course it is different between invest, invest is neither the same as trading nor gambling because you just expect your value increase so this thing is not consider as a gambling
