When you have the chance to win something, and to lose something, emotions are triggered, that's our nature (when we were hunters and gatherers, hunting a prey or loosing a harvest were crucial events for survival. I think that, in general, when we play, some of these ancient connections activate, and even more if there is something at stake like in gambling.
That is a very good explanation you got there, Porfirii.
Sometimes, people under-estimate how deep inside of us, there are still the insticts of those ancient humans who fought for survival and needed to secure food and shelter at all cost. They would have felt the same way in the case they saw some of their crops and meat getting stolen or spoiler to the climate. Though, one of the differences between the now and then is how we nowadays have more control over how much we are willing to risk, that is something those ancient humans did not have or could not control.
I don't know whether you would agree with me on this topic, but in my opinion, the best approach to have with gambling is to have the lowest expectations possible for the outcomes we could have, it may not help much to enjoy the gambling sessions if we have bad luck, but it could certainly turn any good outcome and win into a pleasing surprise.
I have consider myself to be already a quite pessimistic person. So it is not difficult to me to go after that strategy, what do you think? Could it help gamblers or not?
