It is all about promotional value nowadays. The competition for viewers eye balls are fierce. But sadly this is the way the world is.
If it is not them then it would be some one else to fight for your views by clicks.

Coindesk was good once, and not anymore. they have started to only care about ways to make more money by creating click baits and publishing all kinds of crap just like many other bitcoin news sites.

besides they have been censoring comments that sometimes go against their articles, you can find a couple of annoyed people in the services discussion board that their comments on the article was never published because they disagreed with the article.

I seldom visit Coindesk as most of the information and news provided there can be found else where. Sometimes I find the content too unrealistic and too bias. Now with more coverage on ethereum, I find the site less and less relevant to bitcoin...

OMG you got a pop-up!

They're a good source of information,  but they're pretty much like any other website. Some are more annoying than others--Coindesk isn't too bad and you know they're not giving you news out of the goodness of their heart.

coindesk is junk and has always been junk as far as I can tell. they do a very slick job but the content can't be trusted. considering the state of crypto news, mainly shit, there's gotta be a space for a respected source that manages to appeal to people. there are some glimmers out there but most of them seem to struggle and disappear.

I hope someone finds a good balance soon. then again it's almost impossible to find truth and objectivity in the coin projects themselves so how are you gonna find it in the news?
But in this time, there are a lot of people is still believed with coindesk, they're said coindesk is a reliable site and best bitcoin news site, but I think they turned into a shit for now.

coindesk are sell outs.
they will publish anything to get some revenue, whether is fake/scam adverts or just un researched news.

i thought Fox news was bad, but generally any/all bitcoin "news" sites are worse with their inaccurate reporting and clickbait topics

CoinDesk used to be a good source of information & provided breaking news. Now it's just a paid shilling website, I mean look how much they cover ETH these days.

I was really baited by some article I found on the Coindesk. I am talking about  Balaji Srinivasan's prelection  "How To Get Bitcoin (Without Mining or Buying Bitcoin).
I was happy to click link to this material but after like 30 seconds of watching this video it stops and I was greeted by splash screen: "if you like this video give us your name, surname and email"

How exactly newbie bitcoin user who seek safe methods of earning bitcoin might feel about this kind of 'promotion'?
