I do not particularly trust the ratings, they can be bought.  I read the idea of the project, the team, the road map, etc.  What do developers offer in general and how this can help users and investors, for example, useful innovations in different sectors of the economy.
I agree that the rates can be fake (if we don't talk about the rates or news on the most trusted platforms). The ico may also look fine for the time being and attract people by its idea, which the team is actually not planning to bring into reality. Social media subscribers, likes and youtube video views can also be bought, so they don't show the real state of the ico. What they do show is that so far the team has some money and wants to invest it in their project, but that's not enough. I think it is important for an ICO to have a strict roadmap, strong whitepaper and there better be big partners supporting it.
I've never participated in icos yet, because for now there's still too much scam going around.

Yes., I participate in ICO very often. Before perticipating in any I often deeple research the project. My advice is to pay attention whether the projects has a ready-made product as it is some kind of guarentee that it is not a scam as well as  long termed activity before ICO. It is an indicator that team goes stright to thir goal and will not give up.

i have invested to the ICO that i truly supported. there are lots of tokens i have supported back then it was easy because during that time i'm still abundant with btc. these days that only i can send is 0.3 btc which is already a good amount of money. the tokens promoted inside the exchanges somehow are proving to be reliable which is why i did invest some.

Yes. I participated in some ICOs when I have started in crypto. I invested not big amounts, but I should say that finaly I have been got profit from each investements. Not sure that now it will be so profitable as year ago, but it is my experience.

Yeah, when all that ICOs just started to appear thing were a lot better! But what became too popular turns to be a place of scammers one day.

Hi guys! I'd like to know how many of you and how often participate in ICO crowdsales buying tokens, not getting it free from bounties and airdrops. Also it's interesting how do you choose ICO to invest and how do you research if ICO is good or bad.

For example, researching on eCoinomic.net that is running crowdsale campaign now one can go to ICObench and see that it's rated 4.3 generally thanks to great product and reliable team. So do you participate in Crowdsales and what resources do you use to research?

Investing in new projects is much more risky than dealing with bounty companies. You need a lot of knowledge and experience to successfully earn in this market. I use ICO Drops. The main thing is that I noticed that no blockchain projects are at a loss, they are more reliable to invest ... The Seele and NKN will soon enter the market and we will be convinced of this again!

Some ICOs are profitable if it is legit and if it has a credible team and continuous development and a good marketing. However, most ICOs fail because some people just want to earn money and not devoted to develop the project.

I participate in crowdsales very rear, because i had some bad experiences while participating in crowsales as some got scamed and some got listed on very unpopular exchanges due to which the price of the coin got lower then it was in ico when got listed on exchange.

If ico really has a good idea and is well received by the community with fast sales in pre-sale, then surely I will join the crownsale process of it.

If this is a really worthy project that interests me, then I'm taking part! There are very few good ICOs that attract my attention but there are projects that I can invest in. Of course, you can see which ratings have put the project different rating sites, but I would not advise you to trust them and evaluate projects on their own.

I've already participated in more than 10 ICOs and only 3 of them were traded below ICO price. Others gave me good profit, so I don't see any better alternative of earning money in crypto. I used icodrops.com rating resource and they helped me to choose the best ICOs.

As some others have mentioned here, the team is arguably the most important component to consider when financially supporting a new cryptocurrency. Everyone has ideas for "the next big thing", but you're looking for a team who can reliably execute on that idea (not just create pretty marketing materials).

One of the other aspects to consider is whether they have only a roadmap, or already a proof of concept or beta version available. I tend to support projects that already have a working product, but are doing an ICO to raise more funds for improvements. This is more reliable than supporting a new project that has a 2-year roadmap but nothing to show for it yet.

I think nowadays the team that truly tries to make a great project, not just collect money from fools, is priceless  Smiley

Many times but those many times do consider the huge research before I can invest anything into it. I am pretty sure that when I make investment through the Crowdsale then I will ask my friends and other forum members here for an advice about that ICO project.

ICObench and ICOreview ratings doesn't matter for me anymore because they can be paid one and whom to trust about that. Its better to ask organic crowd about it and then take the step forward.

I suppose the only people who know exactly if their project is a scam or not is the developing team  Grin

Crowdsale gives great bonuses to ICO participants, but this does not mean that the project will be successful.
I think that the ratings might not be true, I know a lot of ICO who have high ratings, but the user reviews say about paying, for example the Manager telegram of the channel project 3Dapp spoke about the unfairness of the team and advised to avoid the draft, and the project Myriads, which is in first place in the ranking of ICO-digest, incorrect information on the project team.

high rating is not the right reason that ico is good or promising. I often participate in ico and the first thing I see is their whitepaper. because in the whitepaper we can see what they offer and see the solution or problem solving they provide. we should also be able to see their product opportunities in the market and whether they have rivals. discuss also with other investors in their announcement thread or telegram group.
I agree with you, why do people always see the success of ICO always from their ranking in ranking sites? I think some people in this forum believe that ICO ratings are not a guarantee of the success of ICO, Whitepaper, their Road Map, as well as a very strong team determining the ICO will work.

Just follow some ICO, such as IUNGO, Live Edu.
actually i like ICOs that like Live Edu which focus on educational projects.
or ICOs that are beneficial to our lives. Robotina for example.
