Limiting yourself from something you know that is bad is a great prevention to make things worst happen, keep it up and don't get addicted.

To prevent the worst to happen is not enough but it is better to prevent us to do the same mistake again and again. It is like getting your hands cut with a knife, it may be just a small cut but it is foolish to let that happen to you again when you are holding a knife. That is why preventing the worst is not enough, preventing bad things to happen is the proper word for this

Setting personal limits for yourself in sports wagering is intuitive if you want to survive and be around for a while.
Without limits, people tend to "chase" and can in return dig themselves into a deeper hole.
Rather than doing this, it's best to just turn off your computer or log out of your account and wait for another opportunity to beat the bookies.

Yes i set up limitations for my self because through this I can monitor if I already meet it or not. Its not that easy to handle gambling addiction so I limit my self to avoid addiction.

You're one of a kind because not all of the people out there playing gambling is thinking so mature like you. they are more of like a brat who just wanted to things he want whenever he wants. So, expect that if you're something like that---out of control, well see yourself having the worst problem you've ever hard, you are the one giving yourself a headache.

Limiting yourself from something you know that is bad is a great prevention to make things worst happen, keep it up and don't get addicted.

Limits are major things we have set before starting any gambling because if we keep on gambling more than our limits and it might really damage us financially. So we have to set some limits by restricting  to control ourselves not to gamble more than we have.

Have a certain amount in mind where upto that loss or that win you will quit and leave for the day. Else it would be very difficult to have a control on your bets and yourself. It is not recommended to play for  a longer time as chances of losing start rising the more you gamble continuously.

I agree to that, limiting yourself to commit mistakes is the only way to prevent yourself to be eaten by addiction in gambling, getting addicted is going to be a problem, money is not that easy to earn yet it could be easily lost in just a snap of your finger, that is why it is not worth to play gambling at all, but since many people can't help it since they wanted to earn money in an easy way, they have to come up with an idea like this to avoid losing too much money on gambling.
Yes setting a limit is the most import strategy. Those people who do not have any limit in gambling they can in fact lose all their money, i think that even more important than having a limit is that you must have good control over your emotions, if you do not have control over your emotion then even you limit cannot prevent you from a big lost.

My personal limit is between $20-$50 per fortnight or so. I hate losing money from my own pocket, but I'm willing to lose more if I'm paying with my casino winnings. I remember once winning a few hundred dollars at Roulette. I ended up wagering it all back and I won again... Everyone at the table was looking at me. I quickly cashed in before I lost it and left the casino. That is a good memory Smiley
It's actually good if you can maintain within your limit.
I know we all want to gamble but most of the time we lose, that is why sometimes we loss control of our emotion and we go beyond our limit.

Gambling shouldn't be mixed with emotions and sentiments that's why gambling is a choice so you needn't have to get involved if you are an emotional freak. I don't think we have many "gamblers" today but rather there are a lot of people who found themselves in gambling and don't know jack about what they are doing and it's the reason why the are always losing out to the bookies..

I agree with you in this regard as having these limits make the person more precise and mature from others gambling and definitely he would get the respect from other people who would make him their idle in this field. But I have seen few of the gamblers, maybe 3 or 4 out thousand who are having this thing in mind and apply it on them in their daily life.

I always set a limit to everything whether it be Gambling, or Investing. The easiest way to loose is to gamble (and loos) everything you got, Only gamble and invest what you are willing to loose!!! Limits are a great thing in this industry!!!!
Setting a limit is the most important because we are taking risk here, which means there is no assurance of our success.
If we set a limit, we can only spend the amount that we can afford to lose, and in that way if we fail in gambling, we still have money left to  live our life.
Only when we are too addicted where the limit will be eliminated because we have no control anymore.
Yes having limits in the investments are gambling will be called as calculated risks so we are not in problem if we even lose the money that we invested, but in gambling most of the people want to just earn money so they are going back with their loss with no limits by spending more and more money there which results in addiction and loss of our wealth. So we need to have set up limits while doing gambling to protect ourselves from addiction.

The answer from each one of us would be the same, it is yes, like me too. but I think it will be more different to the addict who is very addictive to gambling, I think they will feel more don't care and the only mind., it just must win and have fun. It's not that I'm talking about someone, but it's generally more difficult for addicts to set up limits their self in gambling.
Yes, we can not ignore the addicted gamblers because they are also the part of it and are discussing only about the common gamblers and not the addicted ones. Limit is more relevant for us as we are serious about our money and are looking on every side so limit is necessary for our good. On the other hand an addicted person does not care about it and betting with no limit unless he does not win.

In addition to applying the limit on how much money we can afford to lose, it's good also if we apply the limit on how much money we will look for in each session. Without that restriction, frankly, greediness can come over and we tend to play without direction and purpose.

Setting a plan like putting a limit is easy, the hardest thing here is the execution process because once our emotion is touch
and we want to continue to play hoping we can win back our loses, that would be the start in breaking our limit, therefore we need that discipline no matter what, even in winning situation if we want to end up with a profit.
Exactly! Making a thousand plans in mind is so easy because it didn’t takes much efforts at all but when one has to implement all these plans in his real life, that thing becomes much more difficult than it seemed to be. One thing which I want to share with you is that thinking about recovering back your losses in gambling is nothing else than a blunder committed from one’s side because it is not possible.

the way is to change our initial intentions before starting gambling. gambling is not for profit, but just for having fun only. that's enough to limit yourself, and not be very ambitious.

Gambling should be done wisely even if the main reason for doing it is for fun. If you win the game and you double your money that is now a bonus for you aside from being happy. And after a several lose if you still continue to play there must be a line where you need to stop to avoid the consequences.

Setting a limit on yourself when gambling is very important and it is vital in gambling because not a lot of people has the courage to set themselves a limit because they really want to win more. It is a personal nature to be greedy and to want more even if they are already rich or when they already have the money to do buy stuff. Many people get bankrupt or get broke because of not limiting themselves whenever I gamble I always set how much I gamble and after that, I stop because I don't want to waste my money on it.
