I had friends who smoked a lot and friends who smoked occasionally. They were very different people. One of heavy smokers was really influenced, and the other not really touched, it was just like a habit.
With occasional smokers it's kind of easier.
But what I noticed is that friends who actively refuse to smoke usually lose their head the most.

Smoking weed was an attraction due to some of my friends(who didnt turn out well) . But seeing their downfall discouraged me from it.
