I believe BTC will always have its place in the crypto landscape, but the last couple of months I stopped believing it will be the biggest and most important cryptocurrency around for very long. Development is just sooooo slow and in my opinion not really focussing on the things people actually need, and as a result it's being surpassed by other crypto's left and right (by the way, I don't use the term 'altcoin' as this is just a marketing ploy. Google is not an alt-searchengine because of it not being the first one).
For example, Bitcoin is still miles away from innovations like this one:

Let alone solving the problem of the shrinking number of full nodes, slow transactions and not having anonymous transactions without an external mixer.
I think right now the price is what it is because of the bagholders, last but not least the big miners. But I would not be surprised if the fiat required to keep the price afloat runs dry one of these days, and when that happens there will be a nasty downward spriral and much grinding of teeth. Because of this, I got rid of all my BTC holdings. Some BTC still trickles in from a couple of cloudmining contracts, but those will also dry up one of these days.
