What do you think about actors being affected by their roles? What do you say when they do a role that something they are not, for example, when an actor is playing a role of a gay guy, do you think it's affecting him?

This all depends on the thinking of the viewers and not the actors , Actors are just acting according to the character but some peoples watching them thinks them the same way

Well its just his job to act gay. I don't see how acting gay on screen could lead to someone liking to suck cock. Really? No.

I do think actors that have to adjust their weight, for example, gain 30 lbs for a role then take it off after your done is not healthy.

I can say that it would be very strange and weird. Maybe they can think it's fun, others may not want to do that, but I think acting it's very difficult, even you play a very simple role.

Actors are hired for one reason, and that is because they are professionals. They may be portraying a different person but I'm sure that the emotions that they show is not really for real, it may seem so convincing but that's the purpose of actors to make us feel that we are watching true to life stories.Their years of practice and training makes them better in doing their jobs.
I guess so. But are they really honest about it? They may look convincing, and maybe they are affected in some way. Maybe a minuscule bit, a part of them change every time they are given a different role or something. It's their job, I understand, and I think they can deal with it. Just maybe, you know? I thank them for keeping us entertained also.

They are not smooching for fun, they are acting their roles. There is nothing to it at all. If an actor was given a role to play, They just have to play it perfectly, to convince their viewers. So I don’t see anything wrongin people smooching themselves on set. They act to get paid and to have people entertained.
I didn't mean any harm to anyone. I just said if it affects them internally, like in their mind. They are professional people and given different roles. Basically, if you think about it, they are becoming like conmen because they act like different people. It's not a problem, I'm just wondering what you guys think.

One some level yes, but maybe not that much. I heard of some actors that got in there roll so deep that they become acting more and more like that character. Heard of some self suicide also. So in the end summery is this. To be good actor you need to convince yourself that your something that your not, and that takes tool always. Maybe im wrong but that is my opinion.

We can never know because we're not actors. Maybe I affected them or not, it depends on how much they have worked on it. Maybe it's really part of their job making it realistic that it wont affect them personally. It could be like that, a great actor or actress takes a lot of risk on who they are going to be.

I agree with you friend , we will never know because its not our own state of mind . And yes i think too as i said , it depends from how much are they in to role of character they are acting , but i also think that if fictional character is more simular to actors personality it will be more realistic for us watchers ... Cheesy

Some actors play the role brilliantly crazy or drunk. I've always wondered this talent. It all depends on the skill. Some become one with his hero

Depends on person to person or say actor to actor because anyone who would do his role with full dedication would surely be affected.

Actors are paid to trick people into believing who they want you to believe.

So don't take actors or actresses seriously in who they are or what they say. To be honest.

Absolutely perfect said Actors are just playing their roles and their is no where connection between their reel life and real life personality. so who ever thinking of the same thing are just fooling themselves

According to your theory, and the actors have to die in the present. But they only play a role. Love and hate only for shooting

I am sure that if actor will play the role of a gay man's sexual orientation he will not change. This is just a game. And every second actor understands that it does the job

I guess it's okay for them to understand how their role works and go ways when they are like that. I'm just wondering if they happen to realize if they are actually like that. If they want to be gay or something. Something triggered inside of them that wants them to be like that character or something.

I think some actors get affected on the role they are playing. For them to be effective in their role they have to observe, study  and know the gestures and attitude. They have to be the one they are playing so it won't look fake. At some point they will get affected especially if the role requires a lot of their time. Sometimes because on how they absorb the character it leaves a spot in their character that will affect them. Also if they paly the role really good it leaves an impression to the audience that it's their real character. I just hope that every role they play leave a positive impact to the actor.

It does affect them. Any role that they are doing, they are doing for money. It's almost always about money. If they really like the character they might become them eventually. A part of it or something, something stays within them. It's being a great actor to portray so many different personalities to have. It's like being an undercover agent.

How do you know if an actor has really been affected by their role or they are just acting like they have been affected?

 Grin

Ha. Maybe it's another publicity stunt for their popularity as always lol. Maybe they have their own way of dealing with their issues and i hope they be original as they are. It's always publicity for them, it would be good but not always.

i've known a few actors. they were insane in the main so i wouldn't be surprised that their roles drive them more crazy. one told me she liked acting because she didn't have her own personality. the ones who weren't crazy were narcissistic assholes.
That's really concerning that actors are like that. No more self personality. The more they make characters and study it, they are likely to be like that. They have that certain kind of characteristic that make who they are. Poor person, i hope they find themselves
