Hey all, I was just wondering your opinions on whether bitcoin has hit its peak already at around $20,000 or if you think it will break even higher in the future? I know there’s been bitcoin retraces of up to 80% before before it has risen a load again but I’m not sure that bitcoin hasn’t got the functionality that the price suggests.

I do not think the bitcoin peak is $ 20,000 but more than that, no one can confirm the peak of the bitcoin because the bitcoin value will continue to increase.

Yes not yet. Seeing last three months growth i would be happy with if bitcoin reaches and stays on $10000 if not it goes on peak. Too many news on banning bitcoin has really make many investors away nearing to bitcoin. Thanks to yesterday's pump of $1000 in an hour. The good thing is the value stays  balanced from $7900 to $8100. This is more than enough for this week. We just expect the value travel at this level. It would be good to have $1000 hike two weeks once like this.

I think the bitcoin peak is not $ 20,000 but bitcoin can exceed $ 20,000. Nothing can be sure of the peak of bitcoin value, bitcoin can reach 20k or even 50k and can also reach 100k in the future, because bitcoin keeps growing and increasing in value.
Yeah, being quite optimistic I believe bitcoin can do a lot more than our expectations. The past few months were quite discouraging for it as it had gone through a lot of limitations but even though it survived all. I think there still a long route to cover and yet it's peak to be accomplished surpassing all the preceding values...
in fact, the previous maximum value was about 20,000 dollars for one Bitcoin coin. Do you think that this year the maximum value of Bitcoin will be above 20,000 dollars? Very much I hope so, But today we are at the bottom of the crypto currency market and growth is possible only slow.

When you think about Bitcoin's peak price you need to remember than the Bitcoin ecosystem in 2017 was still very very early, very immature, very undeveloped. Also the technicals of bitcoin in 2017 were still very early (segwit just added and only reached 10% adoption, no LN, no other various improvements that will be made in the years to come).

And despite the very early state of the ecosystem and the technical development bitcoin hit $20k.

Both of those situations are already improving. Segwit adoption is increasing, LN is on the mainnet in beta, other upgrades are being worked on. And Coinbase is starting to get competitors in Robinhood and Square, Bitcoin is slowing being allowed to pay for things at more companies. All this in just the past few months.

This should make it clear that $20k is just the beginning. In 5 to 10 years we'll probably be laughing about how cheap bitcoin was when it was under $100k.

Bitcoin will still exceed it's 2017 high. I do not have any data to support this belief, but bitcoin has continued to defy the odds. I strongly believe that it may even get to $50k one of these days. $0 to $21k was not on anyone's radar yet it happened. $21k to $50k can readily be achieved.
Bitcoin has surpassed everything we could have imagined and every single prediction that we could have made, at the very same time it is difficult to think that bitcoin is going to reach such a high price in such a short amount of time especially when people are afraid to invest in cryptocurrencies after the crash.

Agree. Bitcoin is going to exceed the 20k expectation but of course it won't ever happen in just a span of 1 day. Just like how long we are waiting to hold our coins, it also takes time for bitcoin to reach an expected value in just short time. Everything happens in a process and of course there are factors that has to be considered to attain that amount. Bitcoin has to undergo changes in price, low and high.
Thats true, I think everything need process, Bitcoin is not yet at its highest price, remember there are still many people in the world who have not adopted bitcoin yet, so the possibility of price to go up many times there certainly is, only all that takes a long time mate because you know the development and spread bitcoin requires much time

Yeah, for one fact that even when a lot of people saw $10 as too much of a value back in those days, tells us something that we may not actually have hit it yet and based on the fact that we are even still in the early days of adoption shows we are not even close to the peak at all.

I am very optimistic and bullish in the long term on bitcoin and that is how it is going to stay until we finally hit the mainstream and adoption for usage as currency. For next several decades of years, no one can be sure about the peak price levels of bitcoins as bitcoin's demand may keep increasing along with its popularity hence price must keep increasing in coming years. Peaks may be found near to billion dollars too.

This is very possible of course. Even with all the adversities that bitcoin encounters a long the way of many banks and government are afraid or threatened by its decentralized nature, in the other hand they are also looking into various ways how to create a working and safety network to also benefit from this innovation. Actually they too are realizing the benefits and the relevance of this technology in application to our modern world.

I think not, many predict that bitcoin prices will rise, in accordance with economic principles, when a cryptocurrency rises in price, that means the number of cryptocurrency requests is greater than the supply.
That is even an answer no one can give but if we are trying to consider present development to the possibility of future developments and growths, then I would say we are not even anywhere close to the peak. Bitcoin has been able to show a lot of strength over the years and it is still showing presently even with the downtrend and for a market that has come to stay , there is absolutely just so much going for it right now that we should be expecting the best in the future which includes more ATHs to come.
I also do not think that bitcoin has reached to its peak but bitcoin is in its very early stage and it will continue increasing its price, i think that still bitcoin is has the ability to increase too much even it can reach to 100000$ very soon. Therefore i think that we should wait for the time and should try to hold our bitcoin for that time.

The likelihood that bitcoin has hit its peak is quite slim, it is still in the early stages of adoption and there is still a lot of outside interest and publicity. With many governments now looking at how to regulate and use cryptocurrencies, it would seem that we are still a long way from the 'end-game'. As the price begins to recover and breaks through price barriers it will only bring back interest. Imagine the news stories of 'bitcoin recovers to back above 10k' and how many people will think 'well the experts told me it was going to die when it dipped to 6k, shows what they know'

Bitcoin has not reach it pick and we have many better days ahead. We are at the time when we have to see what is going to happen before believe but I can say from the historical data bitcoin has been having a bad time in January to April every year since 2013. I think the pick is going to come in some years to come and we are going to benefit if we can hold what we have.

I am interested in the price you are waiting for. I am not sure that Bitcoin has reached its peak also, but I cannot believe that it can ever grow over than 50K.

Of course Bitcoin hasn't hit its peak. Last year's surge was the tip of the iceberg. Bitcoin dipped its toe into the mainstream market in 2017, nothing more. The mania from November and December was because people thought it was gonna start entering the mainstream for real. The THOUGHT it was going to, and went to $20k. So what do you think is going to happen when it ACTUALLY gains mainstream adoption/investment? $20k is a stepping stone. 6 figures is where it is most likely heading.

When the market matures I expect the Bitcoin marketcap to be several trillion dollars and the whole crypto marketcap to be north of 10 trillion (its currently at 300 billion). So a 30x appreciation from here for bitcoin and cryptos as a whole I think is doable. Before getting there though there will probably be another two boom-bust cycles to go through the next 3 or so years before Bitcoin is comfortably over $100k.

Probably something like
2019: ^ $50-80k, v $20-30k
2020: ^ $120 - $200k
2021: v $70-90k
2022: matures and less volatility as it settles and slowly grows from ~$150k

Lol defying the odds indeed. Not many people believed it could go below 10k after hitting 20last december but here we are now Cheesy but i don't think also that 20k is btc's peak. If anything, it's nowhere close to that. We just don't know when that will happen when btc will hit it's actual peak

of course the day before doubted that Bitcoin could rise above $ 10,000. But my doubts divorced in 2017, when I saw the maximum value of the price for Bitcoin in the area of 21,000 dollars. of course you do not want to doubt about the new indicators in the region of 51,000 dollars for Bitcoin, but the current state of the market indicates the insolvency of Bitcoin to rise higher.

Agreed. There is no proof of any price increase OR decrease. Charts can tell us information that we choose to extract, but one thing for sure is Bitcoin has always defied the odds and proven people wrong time and again. It will for sure reach the old ATH. When and how much by we cannot say, we can only wait. Or it will for sure fail, that is also probable. When and how, we will not be alive to see.
