Just look at those who already did that. Do people in the Netherlands live worse? No.

Why ban it then?

i understand that there are several good uses of cannabis . Unlimited functions like curing of diseases such as cancer and so many functions however food and drugs authority got no other options than to cease it if they find out its causing much harm than good. Cannabis is destroying several youth. They abuse them. I believe its a strong medicine for many illness but once abused , you leave them no option than to tag it illegal

New discovery reveals how cannabis can alleviate intestinal inflammation

A new study from scientists at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and the University of Bath has uncovered the first biological mechanism that could potentially explain how cannabis reduces intestinal inflammation.

"There's been a lot of anecdotal evidence about the benefits of medical marijuana, but there hasn't been a lot of science to back it up," explains Beth McCormick, director of the UMass Center for Microbiome Research.

A number of studies have found that many patients suffering from IBD successfully self-medicate with cannabis, the drug helping them manage a variety of symptoms from nausea to abdominal pain. The evidence to date has been frustratingly unclear over whether cannabis actively confers therapeutic anti-inflammatory effects, or whether the psychoactive cannabinoids are simply masking the symptoms.

Marijuana seems to yield considerable medical benefits for many Americans with ailments ranging from glaucoma to cancer, but these benefits have not been accepted well enough, on a national level. Medical use of marijuana remains a serious national controversy.

In order to fight the argument that marijuana has no medical use, legalization advocates need to highlight the effects it has had on the lives of people who have used the drug for medical reasons.

I think all drugs should be decriminalised and regulated.

Current laws/prohibition isn't working and only serves to line the pockets of villains.

Of course. I suffer from gastroparesis and having access to legal medical marijuana would be wonderful, as marijuana is GREAT for nausea... it takes the nausea away better and more quickly than just about anything, and with dosages not even high enough to get a person 'high' ... people who are healthy or brainwashed by big pharma don't understand how much money there is behind expensive drugs that won't work half as well and are arguably harder on the liver.... in the case of nausea, you are talking about the drug 'zofran' which I've tried and is useless for nausea caused by digestive problems.

People with sliding hiatal hernias who get nausea would benefit as well as cancer patients, etc.  Reduce suffering....

Medical reasoning aside, people should be able to use whatever drugs they want just because the drug war is idiotic. Police should spend time doing better things than worrying  about people who casually use drugs. Some get caught, some don't, and the wealthy can 'buy' their freedom as well. It's very biased against the little guy as well as minorities since they will get profiled with harsher punishments just for their race.

Ban of weed is outdated relic, ganja it is less dangerous than alcohol and cigarettes. It should be allowed for anyone who can purchase alcohol legally.

Why should it be illegal?

Weed criminalization is a bit unique, actually.  In many cases, we can look historically at something being abused, people getting concerned, passing law regulating it or against it.

Prostitution, many drugs, alcohol, nicotine are examples.

Weed this is not the case.  It seems to have been carried in the tide of criminalization of other drugs.

If tobacco and alcohol can be allowed, then why not cannabis?

If we can buy cans of bacon, why not canned cannabis?

I urge the Union of Concerned Procrastinators to agitate for equal canning rights for cannabis....

Sometime later.

Why should it be illegal?

People should be able to do whatever they wish with their bodies. From a health perspective, THC usage has been linked with fried short term memory. It should be used carefully like most medications and warning labels have to be printed, just like for alcohol and cigarettes. If not on the package, the seller should have to inform a new client of the risks.

Once the client has been informed they can buy as much as they want. Smoke as much as they want. Shove as much as they want up their anus. Why should the state be involved?

Yes, exactly if someone wants to take something that will outright kill them in 2 seconds, they have the right to do that. Your body is your body and no one else has the right to tell you what to do with it as long as you aren't hurting someone else by ingesting it.

I want free lunch, i'm gonna go with this guy.
all drugs should be legal.
I am most scared of alcohol and nicotine.
The worst experience i had was drinking too much whiskey.
You can smoke as much as you want it is hard to get a similar experience.
All drugs do damage, none of them is good for your health, but that doesn't mean you can't learn or have personal growth from them.
