To me it's not bad to have a habitual gambling habit everyday if you can win everyday and I think a successful gambler is one who has more wins than loses cumulatively, so IMO if he is winning everyday which in this case he is not, he is good to go, but if he is not then he should understand that excessive gambling is a waste of money.
You can advice him to play running games since they take longer to play out than for him to go for the daily if you want to help him reduce his habit
The thing about gambling every day is we are increasing the losing part. The house edge is there so it means the gambling sites will be taking money from us. Even if those are just cents of a dollar per hour it would still mean a lot if all are piled in one container. It would still be better if we could rest a bit after a win. I mean, just savor all the profits. Go out, relieve the stress, eat good food, or go shopping. It doesn't matter what it is as long as we are away from gambling and we can somehow find joy from the profits we make.
After that, I promise we will be like a newborn gambler who feels the fun of betting once again.
