Vinny Lingham said, in Consesus 2015, the following phrase:
" If you don't simplify the use of bitcoin, why would people want to use it as a currency?

What do you think about that, check the whole article in the following link:

for people who don't care about the technical side and only want to send and receive money, it is very easy. you can get to know the very basics of bitcoin within 30 minutes. if you have in depth interest in the whole protocol, then it is a different story.

Yeah technically it is very much complicated than we think, but if you are using it for general purposes like sending or receiving money, or online purchases or for gambling than it is quiet easy and simple and most of the people are using it for the same purposes So I don't think that a common man would not be having any issues or complications by using bitcoins.

I think that for average Internet users, with an average knowledge of English, Bitcoin is not complicate.
If people don't use Internet much or can't speak or understand English well, Bitcoin can be complicate to them.

It is kind of simple.

Agreed. Bitcoin being complicated is kind of a popular misconcepotion. The technology behind it is complex but so is the tech behind a car but you dont need to understand that to use it. Download a wallet or use blockchain.info and there's nothing stopping most people from using it.
Well you're right, it's very simple when we already understand

Quote from the article:

For Lingham, offering bitcoin paying customers a discount is important and worked very well for Gyft, he said:

"If you don't simplify the use [of bitcoin], why would people want to use it as a currency? Realistically, as a merchant, we are saving interchange fees, so, why not give it back to the customer?"

So, to make payments with BTC easier for customers Lingham is offering a discount for them not losing anything at the same time. That's a smart move IMO.

Using bitcoin is, in my view same simple as sending emails. The way the blockchain works may be complicated. But we need not that information for using bitcoin.

Using Bitcoin is not hard. It is actually very simple.
It's securing one's coins that is trivial.

We need to have apps that take out the complicated part and only show the easy use cases. E-mail got popular when you could just sign in on a web browser with a username and password. Nobody wants to take their time to understand IMAP or POP3 or whatever protocol just to send an e-mail.

Same with computers. When did they get popular? Once windows made it easy for the avarage user to work with them. This is what we need for bitcoin.

the use of bitcoin is complicated in some point, indeed.
if not for all the geeks it will be difficult to use.
but for now. and for normal users. its just easy
as ABC... and 123... that even children can use this.
but for some points and for some complicated points. it will be difficult too.
especially earning it.

It's a new technology and it takes time before people start to accept and adopt, same was the case with email, credit cards, smartphones etc. For the new generation it is very easy to understand, there are some things which are a little complicated, such as keeping your Bitcoins safe because people are careless but if someone really wants to, they'll take the time to learn about it. And the thing is people are really used to using the traditional ways of spending money, Cash, Credit Cards etc.  Banks have spoiled them completely, they keep their money there and pay them to use it and keep it, and like every bad habit it takes time to get rid of it and thus it will take more time before people start using it.

Well said. Any new technology will has it's own difficulties in it's early days. But people had overcome all of them, similarly all the people around the world would realize that the real and importance of bitcoin one day. No more complications after that.

Its like learning to drive a stick or ride a bike. Once you learn, it easy. Usage must be incentivized to get past 1st hurdle.
But I think there's a lot of people that won't get over that first hurdle, and then they'll dismiss bitcoin completely.
Most people will just ignore bitcoin until they can't. The same happened with the Internet, people would ignore it now they just can't ignore it, they will have to use it in work, school or personal life. People will ignore bitcoin until a point where they just have to use it.
So we need to get bitcoin to a point where it is big enough that those people can't ignore it, and that's by gaining more users, and the easier it is to use the more users it can retain.
