It was one on the issue Satoshi saw the world needed it. But as far now it mainly use is trading for speculation by the newbie and holding by one who bought it years ago.

Of course it needs to be legalised FIRST somewhere. But after that a, will you buy something online and pay in BTC ?
Or it’s just a form of investment like gold was a decade ago ?

I have used Bitcoins to make purchases at Overstock.com but I mostly hold what I have. It’s hard to justify spending Bitcoins when the value could double in a matter of months.

There’s also the issue of fees that add to the cost of using Bitcoin as a method of payment. Until that issue is resolved, I think Bitcoin will mostly be used as an investment and a store of value. That may be all it ever is which is fine as long as the price keeps going up or at least doesn’t back track.

Smiley Hi, there luxcoin! As far as I know, there are only around seven countries that prohibit the use of cryptocurrencies. I agree with you stating Satoshi's aim of creating an alternative payment for internet commerce. Currently that dream is little by little realize as more company embrace the technological change of accepting cryptocurrency big names includes Microsoft, Newegg, Steam, and much more. However, most of the bitcoin holder prefer to earn more bitcoin rather than spend it which become the reason why most of the bitcoin transactions are conducted in the investment.    Wink

With relatively high bitcoin fluctuations, there will be a feeling of affection when we have to use it as a means of payment. It would be wise, imo, that in transactions (selling / buying goods and services) we keep using fiat. And treating bitcoin remains as an investment.
I agree with you, we should just keep or remain our bitcoin as an investment or an asset because it will help us to continue earning money in terms of fiat and just use our fiat to make transactions or payments because it is better to use it since it is fixed and it is not volatile like bitcoin. The wise decision right now is just to hold bitcoin and don't do anything with it until the price satisfies you and just sell.

Unfortunately, i am not allowed since Bitcoin is not uet legal in my country as a currency. And also, those online shops that accepts Bitcoin as a mode if payment are only limited on some countries with regards to the delivering process. But I am joping that ulin the future it will be legal on my country and i would be glad to use my Bitcoin to buy the things that i want.

As a student, bitcoin is really useful for us to use in payments. We can use bitcoin to pay school tuition fees which lets us avoid long lines that moves without assurance. Sometimes the guards cuts the line and makes a lot of students angry. Base on my experience, i haved used bitcoin to pay something that i have bought online but i need to redeem or get my money from bitcoin thru a bank account. I think if bitcoin is legalized in our country, online payments with bitcoin would be possible.

I've experience that long lines when i was still a student and it is very annoying really. Good thing now that there is a website in my country where in i can easily exchange Bitcoin to Cash and from that i can pay bills like tuition fee, electric bills, water bills with the same website. I am using that for paying my electric bills and it is very useful because i don't need to go out anymore to pay those kind of bills.

Just paid 4$ for a 25$ transfer and will likely be waiting 24hours for it to get 1 confirmation. It is awfull to use right now, my shops didn't yet add other payment methods so i'm stuck paying john gotti fee.

This is a temporary phenomenon (I hope). Whenever there is a lot of activity, blocks tend to become full and transaction fees shoot up. Hopefully, the dust will settle down and things will go back to normal. people usually won't have a problem paying 0.1mbtc as fees.

That's why Im avoiding small transactions and if possible making a bulk transfers.

Well as long as bitcoin price is continously rising, we can really expect a high fees if we based on USD values on it. Actually Im fine now with BTC0.0005 to BTC0.001 fees of some web exchanges because I must agree to that since I really need to used their exchange services. And since bitcoin price is currently on uptrend, the value of BTC0.001 is rising too.
Not yet because i never try to buying stuff online, but i have a chance to buy online, then i will use my bitcoin as payment. Perhaps i'll going to use it when i have important  things to buy.
That's nice!
You'll see on the black friday you gonna find something useful to buy Cheesy
By the way, can you tell which type of card it is?

Well bitcoin is supposed to be a currency but it's really not being used as such, and I don't blame people. Essentially you would have to pay a 5$ fee for a 2$ coffee, for example, which is stupid. You can't really use bitcoin right now for small purchases, it just doesn't work, there are solutions to this, of course but they take time. My prediction is that when cryptos are actually used as currency, we will not see bitcoin as the top one, there will probably be a lot of new cryptos with new technology that will take over bitcoin.

BTC was designed to be used, not to be held as an asset, unfortunately we have gone past that point, it will most likely remain as an investment until it finally dies overthrown by a better coin.

Unfortually for the Comunity I totally agree with you.
We crossed that point to use BTC as digital currency, and as it is now I can see only as a investment like other one of the old world.
We'll see other Cryptos to take place in the top charts and I think that the ones who can solve these problem LOW FEES, FAST TRANSACTION, RELIABLE , ANONYMOUS will definaly started to be sedn as digital wordwide currency

That's bad !
They have to fix it somehow otherwise we can not afford it - I don't know actually how but there are out pleanty of Crypto more flexible , with less fees and definatly faster to approve a node.

Bitcoin cash for example it's much much faster..
Of coure they forked for it and it's supposed to solve that problem

Few times, I used BTC directly to pay for things
Most of the time; I am using it 'indirectly' through my Debit Cryto Card (that I load with BTC or other ALT and then be able to use it as any other card)

Wow Shocked Shocked
That's nice trick buddy! Can you repost it which one if works for you?

In the future I'm looking to have a debit card with can work with every altcoins : I would be amazing even if I think it's such a difficult thing to be done. Hoping it's not a crime  Roll Eyes

Live cams shows pimped with cryptocurrency on Sexy
I personally don’t use it as I belong to a third world country and I am only a participant in signature campaign but I am looking much more people who are paying bitcoin for online shopping as well as for the purpose of paying school fees which is very much appreciable for myself.

When bitcoin price is till low and I am still a newbie, I just use my bitcoin to pay creditcard bills, utilities and topping up my phone.  I used my btc and now I am regretting it.  If I just only keep all of them before, maybe now my future is secured.

I haven't tried before, but i know few people who have used it on steam. My brother once paid with bitcoins on steam to get games when they were on summer sale Smiley.

We needed to wait a little bit, but it then arrived at our library where our games are listed. So far no problem with me.
