If you're constantly up on the news, I'm sure you're aware of the scientists stage worldwide climate change protests.

Over 1,000 scientists from 25 countries took part in the Scientist Rebellion's demonstrations over a week ago.

How does this affect on the market? Or doesn't at all? On the prices of bitcoin?
I don't think that there are even with this to affect Bitcoin or even care about cryptocurrency so Maybe this is not the right manner to ask this here.
and besides what are your concern to ask this mate?
news such as climate and environment will not have much effect on bitcoin. except about news about an invasion or about an economic boycott of a country. then maybe it will have an effect. because of course the market will have an effect too.
Exactly , but lets give the credit to the OP maybe he has other different things to expect in this matter.

It could have no effect or it could actually have.
Let's say when there is a large protest against the things that have a great threat to our environment and some one who is influential enough will have to decline the acceptance of Bitcoin because of the Bitcoin mining power that excessively consumes every year? Just like what Elon and Tesla did when they refuse to accept Bitcoin  as a form of awareness for everyone on the effect of Bitcoin mining in our environment.

Many things we can do to make the environment better, and the easiest thing is not to use electricity or excessive motorbikes, vehicle smoke that is pollution damages the environment and the ozone layer so as to make the atmosphere damaged, this is what the world must pay attention to so as not to Global warming occurs.

If you ask people whether they care about the environment, many will answer that they care, but do they really care about the environment? surely only a few care about the environment, many people cut down trees, throw garbage in rivers or the sea so that it destroys the environment.

We have to thank the scientist for raising the alarm. But I think if we can go back like 20-30 years ago, this has been a topic already and it seems no one is bothered. And now we are suffering the consequences and i think it could be late though. So everyone should be wary on the effects of the climate change.

But as far as the effect on bitcoin, I don't see any. Maybe those anti-bitcoin though will take advantage of bitcoin mining as one of source of massive energy consumption argument.
It’s not going to be an easy thing to pull off, but we will surely get it done. A reason why this is going to be quite difficult is for the fact that there will be industries who wouldn’t be in support just for the fact that it wouldn’t be favorable to them, so they will be kicking against. And another thing is what you pointed out that people are not bothered about this at all; they are not taking this serious. The problem with people is that they don’t care until they start to feel the effect. But I believe with time this is going to work.

And so what? All BTC miners should stop mining to save the earth from global warming, just because a bunch of scientists are protesting? This is ridiculous.
A bunch of scientists protesting cannot affect the Bitcoin price.Nobody cares about this right now.
The inflation is rising(it might turn into stagflation, which is bad),there's a war going in Ukraine, the pandemic still doesn't come to an end. There might be global hunger next year.Do you really think that global warming is the main problem of the human civilization right now?

If our environment is clean and healthy then we must care about the environment, the easiest thing we can do right now is to reduce the use of plastic, as we know that plastic takes a very long time to break down so by reducing plastic the environment will be better, and if we find plastic then the best thing is we burn it.
Currently, there are many campaigns to reduce the use of plastic, although not all of them are implemented and there are still many who use them.
It's not an easy thing to be free from plastic and I hope everyone is aware of the importance of protecting the environment

Bitcoin miners may have an effect to the environment that adding the cause of global warming but if we compare it to the other bigger industrial factory company it's just a bits I think although when Bitcoin required a lot of energy aka electricity that's the time the coal and fossil fuels affect the entire environment.

This is the reason why Elon Musk left Bitcoin but if the government allowed people to use solar energy without a problem maybe this will fix almost everything. Although, some of them can't be helped or stopped from using fuel but at least stop those companies whose for years been damaging the environment.

I do care about the environment but what does it have to do with BTC? There are people who want the world to think that bitcoin is somehow drawing too much power, or that miners produce greenhouse gasses. We should be smarter than that and ignore the anti bitcoin narrative, that's all I have to say about that. Want to protect the environment? Why don't you protest against airliners and yachts of billionaires. Yachts are often powered by dual 12 cylinder diesel engines so a rich guy who sails around for fun produces more fumes and impacts the environment more than 6 people driving in their cars around town. What about private jets? Is Bitcoin really the culprit here?

Sometimes people are not looking at the big picture. I agree with you here. These activists, are they protesting about these rich people regarding their yachts and other high carbon footprint activities? I don't think so. They are just highlighting the use of energy of bitcoin mining but they forgot to look at other big industries that are consuming too much energy and at the same time wasting a lot. I do care our environment in my own little ways, like throwing trash in proper places, and planting in my little garden. I am not active with other activities but I can say, as much as possible, I lessen my carbon print by my daily activities.

environment and bitcoin Huh?
why is it always linked? , ( my opinion )
in my thinking and my vision bitcoin mining is not as bad as in destroying the environment only electricity is used without damaging the surrounding ecosystem. so I don't think bitcoin has anything to do with climate change
and also I think climate change also has nothing to do with the price of bitcoin because as we know the price of bitcoin is always changing, it's not that we can't determine it in a fixed amount

Bitcoin has been associated with the environment for a long time, it started because mining Bitcoin requires a large consumption of electricity.
Therefore for Bitcoin haters always looking for bad things about Bitcoin, no wonder it uses environmental reasons to bring Bitcoin down. But most
people now can access any information easily, because internet access is already everywhere. So people understand that Bitcoin does not damage
the environment, even fiat is more damaging to the environment when compared to Bitcoin. Moreover, climate change that occurs does not affect
the price of Bitcoin at all, because the price of Bitcoin moves based on supply and demand. So I don't agree that climate change will have an effect
on the price of Bitcoin, so we have to study the crypto world properly. In order not to get misleading information and ultimately will make us wrong
in making decisions.

Bitcoin has been labelled one of the most fossil fuel energy consuming sector in the world and as such, a hated or unpatronised sector by truly environmentalists. Apparently, these guys trade cryotos too and you could say, most of the effect that could arise as to this played out when Elon Musk Tesla placed a hold on the acceptance of bitcoin for buying a Tesla sometime last year. The market went bearish almost immediately because, not just the fans of Elon was at play as at the time but, the true environmentalists too.

One thing we ought to understand is, a sudden shift in a system is not always the best and changes comes to be gradually. In anticipation for the minig field of cryptos to utilise only sustainable and economic friendly energy sources in its activities, its only nice that these changes comes gradually and it would come to stand.

A small protest like that does not make any waves... but a large protest will spark a new environmental awakening and people will once again throw stones at Bitcoin for using so much energy. They will care less that a lot of mining are done with "Clean" energy like Hydro power and Thermal energy, because the agenda will ignore all of that.   Roll Eyes

How will this influence Bitcoin...? I will say it will not make a dent in the Bitcoin price.. because people are only worried about profit and not what the environmental impact will be.  Tongue
That small protest goes viral, and many people now are already aware about the current situation and most probably this is a wake up call, so I think it can make waves but still its better to have a more crowd to wake up the government as well and do their action as early as possible, this should be addressed the right way.

Bitcoin investors are indeed into the profit only, they didn’t even care about the cost of the mining especially on the electricity simply because that’s a miner concerns and they are just buying and selling, that doesn’t effect the price of Bitcoin after all, at least not yet.

Everything will influence the price of the bitcoin and market. For the understanding, the war between the Russia and Ukraine affected the price of bitcoin or not.People think, the war between two countries will affected their economy and why the price of the bitcoin. But the real thing happened is,the economy of two countries had influenced the world economy.Because Russia had huge influence on world economy by their Gas supply.

In the end it all goes back to the old debate that Bitcoin is not environmentally friendly Cheesy
there is no significant movement about bitcoin at this time because if you look at scientists demonstrating this is not just bitcoin even if it is a matter of a hot climate actually a lot of greenhouse effect projects that are more damaging than bitcoin.
It all comes back to this rumor and bitcoin is destroying the environment is something that is debated over and over again with no clear result Cheesy

I agree that people are overreacting on the energy situation, it is not something that we should care about anymore thanks to this Russia-Ukraine war. Everyone forgets that even though oil has been a thing that destroyed the world so far, it is getting lesser and lesser important with the renewable energy world getting much bigger attention these days.

Maybe Europe can't just dig out their own oil from the ground, but they can certainly go with the wind turbines and solar panels which would help it a lot, and since they do not want to deal with Russia anymore, I am sure they will get it quicker compared to what would have been before the war.
Can we become sustainable electricity producer only with renewable energy like wind, solar even hydro power plants? Atleast in the next 10 to 15 years which is not possible in my opinion.

Russia is still selling their gas to those countries and even after lot of restrictions from Putin so called unfriendly countries.
