Good afternoon! In your opinion, how relevant is the ICO in 2020 after many projects turned out to be scammers?

The future of ICO ended when binance hosted IEO for bittorent tokensale. People are literally done with Ico's because of many scam exits and the difficulty in know which one is guenuine. IEO offers a bit more of security in as much as the whole market is unpredictable, if you follow ieo's that got listed on exchanges such as binance, kucoin, gate, okex and others, there's always a greater chance that such project are unique and they do have a huge tendencies of returning higher ROI

Literally! ICO is dead and IEO will be soon if a better alternatives to crypto fund raising emerges. Gone are those days we hustled hard to get in on finance launch pad for fetch and matic. Now, I am indifferent to IEOs and I prefer my day to day trades

From recent event its is so clear that the ICO model of crowd funding has hit a rock bottom in 2019 so looking for any ICO in 2020 that will be a success is practically difficult. Most project have shifted to the IEO model if raising funds and that's what it's in vogue right now
The ico model has already started to recover from its bottom again to follow the trend that is still happening with bitcoin. You can see that there was a bunch of new IEOs got successful to raise the funds and again people have become smart people consider they were only taking the trusted project from in the market.
If this positive trend will continue and there was a change for ICO or IEO trend will be very popular again.

I have not also n=seen any project lately use the word ICO, because they all want to be on a safer side. They know if they use it, there will be nothing for them. even if they cannot afford to do their fundraising on a good exchange, they will go for one of the cheapest around and call it IEO.

I personally find it hard to believe that 2020 will be a good time for new projects and even less likely for ICOs since most of the investors will have to take into consideration the fact that soon there will be a global recession plunge - an event which at first was unforeseeable but seems to be closing in with every moment that passes. That's to say that not many people will be prepared for supporting projects which may end up unsuccessful.
most ICOs are no longer a good choice for the money collection process, only by way of the IEO can be the right choice for this year and who have a lot of interest-based exchange-based projects.

Its better to set aside this kind of investment rather than risking out your money just because you do hope for some gains.I'll tell you this,
ICO becomes shit nowadays after that 2017 bull run yet majority of them becomes scam.Come to think that we head up on IEO thing
but this one will turn out to be shit soon.Just to observe even IEO do still struggle nowadays which i cant really blame investors
because getting involved into most projects doesnt give out high probability on making profits.

People are more interested in IEO projects nowadays, but if the ICO project looks solid and having good potential then it can succeed too. The most important thing is the project itself, but people actually trust the IEOs more, because they think the tokens will likely get listed faster in exchanges.

I think after the new cycle of bull run that seem to have started i expect a new wave of ico trend as well so i think in later part of this year and 2021 we could see a surge in the icos again and most of them will be legit because many projects are on hold due to long bears in the market and now due to pandemic so icos are here to stay it is just the slowness of the market which can change anytime.
I think fund raising by ICO is not very efficient anymore because there are no interested parties anymore, many are now starting to turn to the IEO method which according to investors can be safer and more profitable because of gaining trust from an exchange that helps the coin offering process.

It looks like you are only counting for the scam project but you are not aware if there was a lot of successful icos.

It's better for you to visit this site https://icodrops.com/ and look at the previous ico list and there was a bunch of successful icos. The future is still really bright.

I don't think the future of ICO projects is still bright! Once Icodrops, Icobench were trusted source to find ICO projects! Now Icobench is dead and Icodrops has changed their motto. The past was really great for ICO, but this year or the future of ICO is dark !

many ICO scams make investors no longer invest there and now IEO has become the choice of investors, ICO is slowly starting to die and I think ICO has no future

based on the data from this site it can be seen that the relevance of the ICO has decreased significantly compared to 2016-2017, people’s opinion is interesting whether anyone is following the ICO, or many have switched to IEO ?
Possibly yes, since IEOs are raising funds if the projects gets launched on reputed exchange but most of the investors moved to existing coins since they lose all their capital amount when they invest their money on new projects so people prefer investing on coins with highmarket cap value.

I think the ICO hype has been lost since many scam projects failed in 2018 because at that time the scammers took advantage of the hype and only wanted to get money from investors after they fled, all of which were almost replaced by IEO. And it's also very rare for me to meet projects that are still launching ICO this year because investors are already afraid of being scammed or false promises about listing on the markets/exchanges.

The pure truth is that ICO has no relevance because investors are no more buying ICO, rather they buy IEO or any for of fundraising Aside ICO. There cannot be any audience for an ICO project, no matter how good the problem it is solving is.
It will be better for a good project to go through other channels of  fundraising programme than to use ICO as a way of funding the project.

it depends on the project itself if the project is made with a good goal or has a clear development then it will be needed no matter how many ico's come out each day.
but if only for profit, some people still follow, but most are not in demand anymore.

In 2020 we still have potential ICO but just few of them that really take seriously the project. But, its hard to find out what the good ICO nowaday, i think just 1:100 we can find the good one.
Beware if you want to participating in ICO, using your free money and avoid if them if you think they aren't proffesional.
have you seen the news about KingCasino ?, KingCasino got $ 21 million from Round 1 in their ICO, this is a new history for 2020,
maybe investors will prefer a gambling platform for their big investment in 2020, this is amazing

Most of the project listed on ICOdrop do not actually do ICO but IEO, especially recently. Ferrum network is the only ICO on the website since August others were IEO, however, high percentage of the project raise fund through private sale before the IEOs. Private sale is mostly for high capital investment and sometimes longterm holders.

The relevancy of icos has fallen since 2017 and it is not really surprising to understand why, many scammers saw the opportunity and began to create a lot of projects and to their surprise they got a lot of investors, but since those projects never had any future they began to fail and people lost their faith in icos and even more importantly they lost their money, people that watched over these events are aware of this and warn everyone about the dangers of investing in icos, and when you have such bad publicity coming to you all the time it is not really a surprise that icos are not relevant anymore.

I guess the era of ICO has ended, and I think there will be a new form of ICO that will launch in 2020. We will see it later after bitcoin halving because that can be a good moment for the crypto market to rise again. If bitcoin price can start the rally, then the new project will have a chance to gain the investor, and maybe the project will have time to success again. But you need to be careful with the scam project because there is many scam project out there, and waiting to get the investor's money.
