Some restructuring needs to be done, as of the 4 global moderators only one is what I'd consider active. It's not really a lot of mods as each foreign language boards need at least one moderator, some have two, and one or two have three. Some of the staff are patrollers who can only moderate newbies, though some are both patrollers and also have their own board. A couple of the staff don't moderate at all, for example the slickage dev.

Are people allowed to create a new thread there in their respective language?
I mean if you have Czech already, is someone allowed to make a thread (about let's say gambling) in that language?

As far as I know, A user can repost in another language in the respective forum section.

Also posts that contain only quotes but no input should be 100% reported right?

If it's a direct quote, where they are adding nothing to the conversation, then yes, But if someone quotes a question and answer that was buried pages ago, I believe it's allowed  Huh Guess

Spamming a service/website, ref links or suspicious links, long quotes one after another between two users(yes, it happens every now and then in there) + everything else that you may find appropriate(or should I say.. inappropriate).
Also, this is by no means an exhaustive list.
I think that this is going a bit off-topic (from my side, and I'm sorry), but I have to ask.

Mainly posting referal links, spamming and translated altcoin announcements, didn't have to deal with much else in there.
I check the threads everyday and use Google translate on occasion(also like foreign languages, which makes moderating quite enjoyable).

Reports coming from the Other Languages forum are very rare so if you see anything that needs moderation, report it!

Well luckily I don't need Google translate for some of them. What would you consider as spam in there actually since there is no "topic"?
I'll see what I can do.

Indeed, I moderate the Romanian subforum since it's inception and helped clean up the Other Languages/locations forum. I'm also a Patroller.
The other languages forum was a mess, now I mainly just remove translated altcoin announcements and ref spam.
Ah I see. So tell me what is dissalowed in such thread in other languages? (such as pool advertising in altcoin section, but here?)
I could probably do some reporting in some things come up as I do understand some of them.

I'm interested in what languages does Cyrus moderate? I see Romanian and other languages (of which there are a lot).

To be specific, I was thinking more along the lines of splitting up the different sections to different people, targeting specific sections that need it, and splitting up the workload among several people (at least 4 or 5), instead of piling it all up on one or two global mods. It leads to people getting burned out.

SO a few staff members are going to be removed and a few more normal users promoted? I would like to see this decision and who is demoted and hired.

Well I've been on a lot of forums in the past and from the experience there, I'm going to say that some sort of global mod or 'higher figure' among them is needed. You could have 2-3 global ones (that are active) and still split up the workload (which is an excellent idea from my viewpoint). This was/is needed due to the fact that reports from some sections take much longer to process than in others.
Since there is no way of applying for such a position or anything, I'm going to assume that you know who to pick and what to assign them to.

Might as well ask another question. Wouldn't it be wise when an user is banned that they can (!) send PMs but only to the staff or just the admins? Wouldn't this make people make less threads from their puppets after they get banned?

Yes, we've been talking about it. I have some ideas but I need to think about it some more.

Cyrus moderates Romanian and "Other", which does comprise of many languages, but most aren't active enough to need a dedicated moderator yet(if they were it'd be best to give them their own board).

In a world of peaches, don't ask for apple sauce
There's more than 28 staff but 28 is probably roughly the amount that are actively moderating. And the current number of mods or active mods isn't a lot imo and I'd say this forum isn't 'medium sized' but is actually pretty big and will only surely continue to grow. As already mentioned, out of those 28 staff some are more active than others and some only moderate the local boards. I think the current staff can handle the workload - which there is a lot of - but I think there should be some more global mods promoted or people who can moderate site-wide. It's not uncommon for me to report posts and they still be there 2 or 3 hours later.
There's actually 28 staff + 4 global mods + 3 administrators. However, not all are active and as mentioned some moderate just the local sections.

May Bitcoin be touched by his Noodly Appendage
I do not think all 28 are very active, or some Mod's are only for local language section.
They don't have right to moderating the forum other then their language sub forum.

I see well at least 10 of them are proper moderators and thats still a lot for my opinion.

Do you think that this is easy to moderate? They can't be all online at all times. Many reports come in daily I assume everything has to be handled properly. I'm not sure what the daily average is for the number of posts but it probably is high.
I'd say the the number is decent, they can manage right?
Yeah definitely not too many mods here
