Technically speaking, wasn't that the most money every paid for any crypto currency? So it means BTC will have to hit $3400 soon to regain it's place as #1 of all time? lol

Successful troll is successful. Thought somebody had just photoshopped the image at first.

this is the type of crap that makes dogecoin look much so worthless

I think it was doing a good job by itself to be honest.

This is ridiculous and totally makes coinmarketcap lose credibility. Why is this coin even listed?

I realy dont like these childish things  Angry Its about money not a kids game  Angry  Angry  Angry Fuck coinmarketcap  Angry

Read a few posts up. This isn't coinmarketcap's fault, or anyone's fault, really, except whoever is messing around at coinedup.com.

Its nice to know that the creator of doge talks normally...
wow someone on coined up bought 1 for 2.5 BTC.. thats gonna skewer things more..

to bad i missed that boat Tongue

The problem is Coined Up allows for eight places after the decimal for all currencies. So while this is needed for BTC, it is not needed for dogecoin. What I mean is you need to price dogecoin in 0.00000001 BTC increments, but there is no reason someone should need to list dogecoin in such low amounts. So the 2.5 BTC sell is more likely to actually be an order for 0.00000001 doge at a price of 2.5 BTC/1 Doge, which in this case works out to just 0.00000025 BTC.

I do not know if this is possible with Coined Up's current infrastructure, but until it is resolved you can expect this to continue.

Likely wasn't a real buy... you could just put up some DOGE for sale at an insane price and then buy it back yourself. Coinedup has a terrible trading engine.

Now that we all know how easy it is to alter the treasured "list" of alt coins, which one should we take to da moon next? lol My vote is for Sexcoin, let's get some Sex going on da moon!

I say all you rich bastards just trade your bitcoins back and forth for doge in small increments.  Drive the price up.  Make everyone rich pls.

seems... someone on coinedup is screwing with the market... buying 0.0000000001 doge at 1 BTC..

so you can imagine how that screws with coinmarket cap...

I figure its part of the hype... and it does a great job of pandering to their need for attention.. plus imagine a lot of ppl who dont go to forums.. will fall for coinmarketcaps strat

This is what is happening. It's not in my control and not coinmarketcap's fault that random people are purchasing tiny amounts of dogecoin on CoinedUp's at very high ask prices (apparently CoinedUp allows this), which puts the overall value to a huge number.

CoinedUp needs to either fix that or Coinmarketcap needs to delist until a more reliable data source is available.

Exactly, coinmarketcap only reports the information it receives from the exchanges API. For now that is one exchange and it is easily manipulated. Myself, I think the manipulation has less to do with the coinmarketcap site that is does with trying to mask the price history on charts, and to fake out bots.
