This is nice and you have to admire the spirit of the doge community but really, is this going to build long term value for the coin?  It seems to need infrastructure and places to use it.

I think that there are lots of places and infrastructure. Take it in mind that Đogecoin is 100+ days old. And it is still growing. Just check for yourself. Wink

Such Doge, So NASCAR, Wow: Dogecoin and reddit’s NASCAR community raise $50,000 in Dogecoin to sponsor a Doge car at Talladega in May
March 25, 2014 -- NEW YORK-- The hopes and dreams of a digital currency will be riding with NASCAR driver Josh Wise as he pilots the #98 Moonrocket to certain victory at Talladega Superspeedway this spring. The Dogecoin community teamed up with the NASCAR subreddit to raise over 67 million Dogecoin ($50,000) to cover the car with the iconic image of the Doge. 1,200 donations averaging $41 added up to Much Wow!

The fundraiser began when members of reddit’s NASCAR community identified Josh Wise as an up-and-coming underdog driver in need of a sponsor. 8 days later, he now has the most wow sponsor in the history of NASCAR. "I can't thank the Dogecoin and reddit community enough for the support," said Wise, who drives for Phil Parsons Racing. "To the moon!"

For this campaign the Dogecoin community joined forces with the NASCAR subreddit and reddit.com. The car will be primarily Dogecoin themed, and will also feature the reddit alien logo. A potential design for the car can be found at http://bit.ly/DogeNASCAR[1] . Previous Dogecoin campaigns have helped send the Jamaican bobsled team to the Sochi Olympics, raised $20,000 to train service dogs for children with disabilities, and collected $30,000 to build clean water wells in Kenya.

The Moonrocket will make its debut at the Aarons 499 Sprint Series Cup race on May 4th. Updates on the Doge4NASCAR campaign will be posted at Doge4NASCAR.org.

About Dogecoin
Dogecoin is an online currency created as a friendly, light-hearted version of Bitcoin in December of 2013 by Jackson Palmer and Billy Markus. Dogecoin is now the second most popular online currency; only Bitcoin sees more transactions each day. Dogecoin is primarily used to buy and sell digital goods and to tip people on social media for the content they create. Tipping services on Twitter, Reddit and other sites allow social media users to easily send digital cash to each other without fees or hassle.
