The coins have returned! Thank you so much for your help.

The next problem is, no matter what I do, the 'send' button is greyed/blanked out and not letting me send the coins elsewhere. The sync bar is always empty. Any ideas?

I redownload multidoge but still can't send.

Can anyone advise? My multidoge simple doesn't seem to sync and therefore the send option is not available.

You could consider exporting your doge private key by following these instructions:

https://multidoge.org/help/v0.1/help_exportingPrivateKeys.html

Then say using a wallet like Exodus and sweep your Doge into that wallet by following these instructions:

https://support.exodus.com/article/87-can-i-import-a-private-key#:~:text=If%20you%20don't%20see,update%20to%20our%20latest%20release.&text=Click%20the%20QR%20code%20icon,the%20funds%20into%20your%20wallet.

Most likely you have manually deleted the blockchain files. After re-syncing, your correct balance will be displayed. Make sure you keep a backup of your .wallet file in a safe place throughout this process. You need to be very careful with such operations.

But you said you did reset the wallet which could have deleted the data your wallet could have started. Question is do you have a backup of your wallet saved somewhere else? Like Mnemonic phrase or private keys?
This is the only way to see you balance back to your wallet since there’s a lot of wallet application like this before. Check your pc if you have the back up or else you really loss that Doge on your wallet. Try also to contact the support of Doge maybe they can help you with regards to this one, just keep tryin.

For my wallets I always make sure I go to the "%appdata%" section (just search there you should be able to find the wallet folders) and make sure to copy the wallet folder there. For example if your wallet is named "crapcoin", then you should be able to find a folder with that name there. Copy and paste and there you have a copy. In case something happens to the existing wallet you can simply copy and paste your copy to that location and it will reload the same wallet again. Not sure if that is how it works in your wallet. Good luck.

Right so I tried to 'open wallet' through multidoge using the multidoge.wallet file we just found. It appears to be trying to do something but just says 'synchronising' permanently. The wallet doesn't appear to be loading up and I cannot yet see my original balance.

What should I do? Redownload multidoge again and try with that?

Okay make sure you first backup that wallet, maybe even a couple times to different places, heh. Then I'd download and install the latest multidoge, let it first create a new wallet if it prompts you. If it detects your existing wallet then let it try to do what it wants to migrate/open it, as long as you have the backup. Then wait to see if it syncs okay, if it does at that point we'll want to try to open/import the old wallet.

Maybe a silly question, but how do I back up the wallet?

You copy it from the folder you found it in and paste it in another folder, perhaps on your Desktop or in your Documents folder.

And inside Roaming is there no MultiDoge folder?

There seems to be a few different appdata and roaming folders. I have now found a multidoge folder in one of them. It contains a multidoge.wallet file of 1kb size. It is represented by a blank piece of paper and if I click on it, it says 'unable to find software for the selected file'.

Thank you so much for you help so far. What am I to do next? I want to make sure I don't cause any further problems.

If you still can't see anything then i suggest you try to look for some good recovery software and try to recover all deleted files from drive C and then search for the multidoge.wallet file.
However, do not copy, download or install anything in drive C as of now (You can install the recovery software in another Disk partition like D or E to avoid overwriting and corrupting any recent file that could be recoverable in C)

Thanks Plen. I have searched that in windows explorer/windows search bar but nothing comes up. Should I be searching somewhere else? For the username part, do you mean my PC username? I tried that but still nothing.

Do you have hidden files shown in your Windows Explorer? Do you even see the AppData folder when browsing your files?

I just changed it to show hidden files but still nothing is coming up. No, I cant see any AppData folder?

Alright well lets start with do you have a C:\Users folder? If so can you see if any folders inside there have an AppData folder?

Yes I can see an AppData folder. Inside it are 3 folders, Local, LocalLow, Roaming. 'Local' has the most recent 'Date modified' date on it from this morning.

Can anyone walk me through step by step to check if the wallet is backed up on my PC somewhere? The coins are still on the blockchain which I can see via blockchair but I can't find the wallet and the balance does not show correctly in multidoge.

If I try and 'open wallet' on multidoge it does not bring up any files that could be a backup wallet. I'd be so grateful if someone can walk me through this.

Should I try reinstalling multidoge on the same PC? or is this more likely to make me lose any information which might be hanging around on the current multidoge?

Check C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\MultiDoge\multidoge.wallet - copy that somewhere else to start

Have you upgraded your MultiDoge application since its initial install? Maybe that should be the first step you take after you find and back up your wallet.

You can also consider Exporting Private Key, uninstalling then importing the Private Key. https://multidoge.org/help/v0.1/help_exportingPrivateKeys.html

No, I haven't upgraded multidoge since first installing back in 2016. I will do that but currently, I cannot find this wallet.
