Hmm, Dogecoin was actually planned as a pure joke coin before they realized it will really succeed. So, in my opinion he was never really interested in bringing something substantial into crypto world except a meme coin. It's not a big loss.

And then the Doge community decided to take the coin and themselves seriously.

yeah I take all my clone coin MEME joke coins seriously don't you ?

did you actually type that out and hit enter or am I high here ?

taking a meme seriously ? for real ??

by the way did you guys notice it was a Litecoin clone on launch or are you still ignoring that part ?

get a grip guys  Roll Eyes

This man did HUGE damage to crypto, the shitstorm happened only after doge
Definitely an argument to be made there. At the same time Doge gave good exposure to the altcoin space so I have mixed feelings.

yeah and I as I have said to you countless times it attracted the worst possible people to this stuff and that made things yet even worse.

your argument is weak.. VERY weak.

Hopefully he's gone for good.

This is a huge silver-lining in this overall crypto price-slump: people and companies with bad ideas/projects can no longer survive and will go away. People are *finally* realizing (the hard way) that nearly all alts will go to zero.

He posted a video message on why he left.  Started a thread about it here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/dogecoin-founder-jackson-palmer-posted-a-heart-felt-video-message-on-why-he-left-crypto-1037469

Thank goodness we still have Elephantcoin. What will we do without animal inspired coins?

This somehow comes as a surprise when I read the news. Imagine how the community will interpret or react to this message because having JP leaving is like saying there is not going to be any new development put into the coins. Seriously after the introduction of merge mining and having the reward per block capped at 10,000 coins after the 600,000th block, I really don't see the coin going to be any better. Bitcoin price has been sliding but doge scenario is even worst.

He can't handle all these libertarians. lol
He needs his dick sucked from all angles or he thinks it's toxic people.
The douche made a coin for children, why did he even leave his subreddit without permission from his parents?

He already pulled this drama stunt last year, he quit Doge because it was a "cult", now he is out attention whoring again.

Yes. I think he's bound to quit a few more times before he's actually done.

Crypto is the separation of Power and State.
Palmer indicated that the cryptocurrency ecosystem is in the midst of a period of stagnation due to the principles of the individuals it is attracting, along with the poor quality of start-ups being established by new participants in the space.

What did he actually expect from a currency called doegcoin?

"All in all, the cryptocurrency space increasingly feels like a bunch of white libertarian bros sitting around hoping to get rich and coming up with half-baked, buzzword-filled business ideas which often fail in an effort to try and do so", Palmer told CoinDesk.

Somehow I don't think those people involved with alt coins are 'libertarians'. They're just greedy capitalists who want one thing: to get rich quick from promoting any new crapcoin they can.

He's a consultant to NeuCoin, so still in the industry (if you consider corporatist scam-trash like NeuCoin to be crypto).

Poor baby!  The mean old libertarians weren't nice enough to him.  Better fetch his fainting couch, screaming pillow, and prepare to restring his pearls.

Plus Kleenex.  Lots of Kleenex.   Cheesy

What a great example of the value of trolling.  This event demonstrates that trolling acts as the immune system of crypto, identifying and attacking Giant Douches such as Jackson Palmer.

You're right too.
But look at the exposure now... A NASCAR car is running with huge Dogecoin stickers on it and it has not been an amazing thing as everybody was expecting to.
We also didn't heard a lot about Dogecoin charity after Sochi.

He created a shitcoin and now talking like he is Sathosi.

In that quote, was he trying to express his disillusionment with Dogecoin? Was he hoping it could be more?

Or maybe it's something deeper...?  Maybe he's disillusioned with another project.  I think his name will be taken out here https://www.stellar.org/about/

Im glad I mined DOGE at the beginning and dumped it at like 120 sats (could have sold at 200 but oh well). Thanks to it I got a big chunk of BTC. Thats what alts are good for, dumping for BTC.
If he wants to stop the toxic environment, then work on developing Bitcoin and stop fucking around with useless alts.

and then watch your bitcoin value going down the toilette Grin

Who cares. He made a shitcoin.

There's only a couple alts that aren't shitcoins. The rest are simply garbage.
