All alt coins will head down as the market saturates creating thousands more.  This all strengthens BTCs position though Smiley

But unfortunately it curbs innovation as well. Cloak for instance should be getting far more attention along with XC. Technical innovation should be rewarded.

This shit coin should just die already. It doesn't even deserve a 1 million market cap to be honest.  Roll Eyes

Actually, I think it's very deserving. Unfortunately, that market cap is shared across every single coin, and the supply is increasing too fast.

How can such a coin with high supply ever work? If I want to spend $1 in Doge, that's currently 5350 Dogecoins.

5350 Dogecoins.

It's too inflated.

It's a lot of Doges for $1, it would need a big market price rise - but from what I've seen it's on a downwards path

I have always thought doge makes alts look bad. When bringing up crypto's with my cousin he asked, "Why not Dogecoin?" To which I replied, "Because there is an infinite supply of them therefore there is no value based off supply and demand." This was about a month ago, good to see others see it the same way.

Good riddance Doge! Bad joke gone bad imo.

Doge hit a wave of mass lunacy in alts, with people egging each other on. It reminds me of Princess Diana's funeral, with people behaving quite ridiculously because they were part of a hyped-up crowd. They woke up the next day, though.

Doge owners have woken up, and yes a few loons remain fixated, but they hold no power to move the rest anymore.

I spotted Doge for what it would become right at the beginning when it hit Crytsy, but there was such mass lunacy at that point nobody would listen.

I even dabbled myself, but never held for more than a day or two.

It will find a floor, once the level of buying reaches the level of dumping.

What that floor is, is anyone's guess. We might even see doge go into LTC market territory. I mean why not? The coin is hyperinflationary, and it's constantly watering down the cost.

They need to cap the dogecoin endless cap. If they want it to have any value at all they need too.

The doge inflation is arond 6% a year, and will be smaller year after year. It is far from being one of the main reasons of the Doge downfall.

The inflation will remain 10K Doge per block after the final halving, so it is a linear inflation and the inflation expressed as a % will drop every year.

The total number of new Doge entering the economy is:

365 * 24 * 60 * 10000 = 5.256 Billion

So the inflation over the first decade is:

5.26%, 4.99%, 4.76%, 4.54%, 4.34%, 4.16%, 3.99%, 3.84%, 3.7%, 3.57%

So the total coins will be 150 Billion in 2024. The inflation of Dogecoin tends to 0, while for fiat it stays the same more or less.

The main advantages I see in Dogecoin is it's very low price, merchant acceptance (network effect), very very low transaction fees and confirmation times, 10 times the transaction capacity of Bitcoin. There is a Counterparty style project build on top of the Dogecoin blockchain: Dogeparty.

As others mentioned, it is a low-end and cheap coin, with good enough security (AuxPow) that will not easily die.

I believe that Dogecoin will stay in the top 10 in terms of market cap and trade volume.

but, but, but wasn't that a cool feature and ensured its adoption for  daily business? LLOOOOLLLL

i have to say i have respect for coins that stick to their initial plan and don't need to hardfork 5 times in the first 3 months. Go with those few coins that don't hardfork and update on you every week because that are the coins with devs that are a) capable and b) had a real vision

there is less than 10 of those

The DOGE dev should stick to the original promised specs. Nobody will trust a coin that keeps changing it's specs. Maybe if he put things back the way they were then the price would stop heading to 1 sat.

too late for that. He'll change it back later again. Doge will be flip-flopping forever.

Just wait for the merge mining. The difficulty would sky rocket and it is safer to invest in Dogeoin..

1 Satoshi and below, in my opinion.

Since litecoin is dying too, we are going to have hard time when buying doges, what will devaluate them even more.

I think they will be traded in 10k closed packs only, at least in exchanges

There is theoretically an infinite supply of Dogecoin, where 5billion will be mined every year forever.

Therefore, 1 Dogecoin= Nothing, since the supply is infinite. Dogecoin is worthless, not even worth 1 sat.

So currently the market cap of dogecoin is 30,000 bitcoins.. if we take all 100 billion doges, its very low compared to litecoin market cap, i dont think it will drop more.
