Hi,

as said in title, i have my Dogecoin core wallet and paper wallet with private key.
Although i can't send any coin anywhere as it asked me for passphrase which i didn't even remember i had.
No idea how long it was but i guess very complicated.
Already used btcrecpver but no luck.

Can i recover my coins in any way?

Thanks in advance for your comments!

Yes you can recover you coin using the private key.  Even without the wallet.dat as long as you  have the private key you can have access to your coin on that address.  You can use this  online site : https://my.dogechain.info/#/overview

can you send me privatekey , email = [email protected]

don't send this guy anything.

There is an option there to input a wallet address using privatekey.

just don't forget to click refresh to see your balance

I thouht that private key is enough to activate a wallet ? or at least an address, right?

Please correct me. I do not use the pc wallet or any decentralized wallet of Doge.

I wish so. I'm trying to understand if would be possible to access coins by having the private key.
Although the wallet was encrypted and has a password so apparently i would still need that to move my coins out the wallet.

Hopefully experienced users can clarify this for us. 🙏

As far as I remember wallet encryption is applicable only on the wallet.dat file that you encrypted, if you have the private key you can access your coins without any hustle.

Never!

Stop being a shit, do not ever send any private key, seed and other things to a random person even he tried to help you accessing the wallet. Most of the time you asset will be gone while you sending to this shit!

I don't know if there's a password on the paper wallet. If there is, you can't move it without the password.

Oh ok. I think i can't do anything then as i got my paper wallet from Dogecoin Core just these days.
My wallet is encrypted and locked so i believe transfer it using my private key, won't resolve the issue and my coins are still locked. Sad

I created the paper wallet from Dogecoin Core. It has both public and private key. I just created it by clicking this option https://prnt.sc/11po4fx
I've never used Dogecoin Core. Bitcoin Core doesn't have the "Print paper wallets" option.

I would try to import private key to Coinomi wallet (would do it on PC) but if anything goes wrong or if i still need the passphrase, can i send them back to Dogecoin Core using a newly created Coinomi private key?

It depends: if you imported the paper wallet into your wallet.dat, it holds the same key (and funds move out if you empty the paper wallet).
If your wallet.dat doesn't hold the same key, it has nothing to do with the paper wallet.

I basically just want to make sure i'm not risking to erase the wallet file in any way and end up with no hope left to recover them.
If there's no risk of this sort, i will try it soon and hopefully would work as you said.  Smiley

Do you think i'm safe trying?

Thanks again! 🙏

if i transfer my paper wallet to Coinomi, will my current wallet.dat file be empty after that or would be still work as backup wallet?

You should have the seed words for your Coinomi wallet securely stored, so that you can restore the wallet in case you lose your password.
The main risk would be your phone being compromised.

Thanks mate!
One more question sorry, if i transfer my paper wallet to Coinomi, will my current wallet.dat file be empty after that or would be still work as backup wallet?

Is there any risk to lose my coins in case transfer doesn't work? Or that maybe my coins will stuck in Coinomi wallet if asking my password?

It depends on how you created the paper wallet. If it has a private key QR-code, it could be as easy as installing Coinomi, selecting Dogecoin, and Importing the key.
Depending on the amount (considering Dogecoin's rediculous value) you may want to use something more secure than an online Android phone, but that's up to you Smiley

I remember there's a qr code but not sure it's for private key or wallet address. Will have to check it.

Although I thought i would be asked for a passphrase even if import it to a different wallet.
If it works the way you say i would be the happiest man on earth.

I will let you know,
Thanks a lot! 🙂

This sounds easy, have you tried importing this private key in for instance Coinomi wallet?
No i haven't tried. Never used Coinomi wallet.
Do you think i would be able to transfer them with no need of passphrase?

Come off it mate, you are not an idiot, alot of other people have made similar mistakes in the past, some where able to recover their coins back, others couldn't not, this does not mean they are idiots, you just have to try to brute force the wallet and pray you get lucky, but incase it didn't work out, don't see yourself as an idiot, you've probably learnt and will never make this kind of mistake next time, so just move on, there are a lot of opportunities in this crypto space, you are definitely going to make back whatever you lost if at all you are not able to recover your dogecoins back.

Thanks so much for your words mate. I really appreciate.

You know, i am living a very hard life at the moment, having to help financially my old parents with my current income being very low.
I am stuck and will be for a long time because of this financial situation so this was like finally a good luck that would be a vital help to try getting my life back.
So this is why i really struggle to forgive myself even though you are totally right.

I am trying to move on, investing on other coins but will need to wait again for years and who knows if i jumped into the right ones again.
And have to say that timing was just perfect now and it is ruined because of my lack of accuracy on such an important thing.

I will see how can try brute force. I tried with btcrecover but have to try different methods but also need to find someone to trust that does that, which is not easy online.

Thanks again for your words my friend, you are a good man. 🙏

Thanks for your comments guys!

So seems like brute force is the only way, i wished private key could help in any way.
Although would probably be a very long complex one. Sad

I'm afraid you cannot, sorry. You can still try to brute force but your chance of success is probably close to zero because you don't remember you had one as you said. Have you tried searching your old files? You could have written it somewhere.

I can't believe i haven't saved a file with it! I think i exaggerated with security level and i have hidden password somewhere i can't remember!

I may have printed it but i can't find any document with a password. I'm an idiot. Sad
