Good luck.  I just checked everywhere and ccex had just a few for 5.  Not even worth a transfer.  Most have gone up to 6 sell.  Coin is already going up.  I think 6 is a pretty good deal unless you want to let your btc sit somewhere and maybe get it at 5.  I see this going much higher.  More people are already in the know about it when I try to spread the word and are buying in.  Yea I think 6 is still cheap if you just want to jump in and buy.  I could be wrong but i do not see it going down again.  Someone would be a fool to sell for 5 IMO.

With that said ------- Coinus Mesomelas [CMM] ?  Canis Monetaras [CMT] ? ...or any other possible spin on that nomenclature?

Second Suggestion:  Any sort of wordplay relating to the Black Dog (ghost in English folklore)

Although there are too many apparition names from that list to mess around with, I nominate one honorable mention: Cù Sìth / (plural) Coin-Sìth (plural) ...although this dog is green, not dark

With Cryptsy selling at 5, I'm going to buy up a little at a time each time someone is foolish to sell at 4. Even though I have some buys at 4 on Cryptsy and Bleu I think getting another 10 million at 4.5 is pretty good.

yeah im looking into such things actually, as i2p is definitely growing. i just read they are about to meet with the developers of tor and possibly join forces!

as for this moment, the focus is being the absolute undeniable leader in privacy and security among cryptocurrencies.

i'm about to drop a huge package of awesome stuff for everyone, very, very soon, along with a few bits of exciting news ;]

i'm making a few minor revisions to our source code today, nothing serious, no forks..  ill post them in here later,

but it will help out anyone running a dogecoindark electrum server. basically its just for handling orphan blocks instead of ignoring them.

next package will include:

- new state of the art blockchain explorer (that updates in real time, without having to refresh the page) with full REST and WebSocket API's, and a sweeet DogecoinDark blockchain visualizer!

- a clone of our electrum server, electrum-doged.space, for i2p, and another on tor, for full privacy enabled electrum capability. (will release detailed but simple instructions too, of course!)

- android/iphone mobile wallets. (also seperate android releases for using our i2p/tor electrum servers!)

prepare yourselves boys n girls. most of the pieces in this package are already done and have been tested.

this is STILL only the beginning, and as we dropped to 4 satoshi today, now might be a good time for anyone who hasn't gotten on board yet 

i will announce the date of the package drop when it is complete, and ask that everyone from our community get together and spread the word the day it releases.

also, since we haven't had any massive rains in our chat recently, i will be raining 1 million coins, over a period of 4 hours (to give everyone a chance to get some)

i'd agree, but overall the community has the say, im just the dev.

I believe that unless someone comes up with a really good name, I'd vote no on a name change.

Dude you are the hardest working Dev I have ever seen.  A name change would cause some more work on you to go back and change everything.  Somehow I do not think you would mind lol.  I am like the one earlier who said I am not creative but I am opinionated.  Yep, I fall in there lol.  I would not mind a vote or a name change Doge has good and bad connotations that go with it.  I do not remember seeing is anyone suggested a name change a while back but if You are bringing up the subject yourself then I am for sure for it.  I have talked to you about some of your plans for the future and it is totally obvious all that you have done with this coin.  Even if you just look at the op and see all that you have done.  I can see how a new name might bring in the attention that this coin deserves now.  Yea I am good with it but it would need to be something that grabs you and draws you in.

got the websocket finished. just have to work out a few little kinks.. the beta link that i posted earlier will be going up n down, so dont rely on it yet.. plus its going to be resolved to a domain or subdomain within the next day or two..

Somethings to consider

Name has to do with privacy / security.

Drop the word "coin"

Drop any reference to "dark"

Drop any reference to Dogecoin as they don't want to play with us

changing the name would NOT affect the network, just so everyone is aware. it would just take a week or two, in order to make sure the name instance was changed everywhere.

I'm not necessarily a fan of changing the name.  I like "doged"/"dogecoindark" for now but am not against a name change either. 

However, if we do change names, consider the following:

1. Adopting a name w/o the words "coin," "pay," "hash," etc. (anything that's been used by a coin already). 

2. Since this coin has a privacy angle to it, I'd choose a name that highlights that angle.  For example, a straw purchase or strawperson is sometimes used to facilitate a transaction when a party to said transaction can't or won't complete the transaction himself/herself for some reason. Privacy is often a reason for using an extra layer, or straw, in a transaction. Accordingly, I'd consider the name "Straw" or "Straws" (or some other name that accentuates one more main features of the coin) in the event a rebranding/new name is desired. 

I;m in the boat with you. I personally like DOGED (I say it like "diggity") and it is well-packaged as-is with the radio station etc. I think it is well-branded and performing appropriately for a crypto that can be seriously treated as money, dev is constantly working on it...


...I believe it will get the attention it deserves, on its own, and be more reliable and consistent as a result of not doing things like this. Just my .00000002.

I like that we have a goofy, irreverent kinda net community going on which echoes dogecoin but is a bit more ...er...tech/issues-minded overall.

I don't have an issue the name but the truth is many people have a negative attitude towards DOGE and by extension DOGED. So even though DOGED is in another category and much better some will brush it off due to the DOGE name
