The headline looks catchy, offering salary to employees in Bitcoin but what i would like to know is how many employees are taking this offer and accepting Bitcoin as a payment method. I am pretty sure that majority wont be taking their salary in Bitcoin and on top of that it is not a high paying job as far as i know to have a huge bank balance so that they can hold them for the long term  Grin.

The popularity of Bitcoin is indeed increasing and some companies are starting to consider paying employees salaries with Bitcoin. But the fact is
that there are still very many people who don't know Bitcoin, so I agree with your opinion, it is possible that not many employees agree to accept
payments with Bitcoin. Moreover, employees who do not have a large salary, difficulty holding Bitcoin in the long term. I suggest if any company
wants to offer salary payments in Bitcoin, should be given the choice of the employee, whether to accept payments in Bitcoin or fiat. It could also
before imposing salary payments with Bitcoin, the company provides education about Bitcoin first, because there are still many people who
do not understand Bitcoin.

Sure thing and take into consideration for those employees which doesnt have knowledge nor being aware on bitcoins existence which will definitely choose up fiat without any doubts but somehow this kind of act by
I'm sure the employees that don't take the Bitcoin, will take it into consideration after talking to their colleagues some time in the future, when these will tell them the value of the BTC they earned..  Grin

I am not sure how many employees will actually take salary in bitcoin because of the volatility, but I like the positivity around bitcoin. People have shown immense interest in bitcoin since the timw lockdown kicked in and it is only growing till date. That's what it matters the most. It's really not much important how many employees are actually using this facility but it is important that a business entity is considering bitcoin as a store of value. Bankers have been resisted this to happen since a long time. It seems less number if people are trusting bankers on their financial mattera. From this perspective, its a win for us!

the company will surely make out some curiosity about bitcoin which would really be sparking up additional recognition or interest for those people around which i do still consider to be a good step that the company
had taken.

Even though it wont really be that much effective but at least they do really have some option to take specially to those who are minding about investment and do risk out on accepting
crypto as their salary.

I read many people worrying about the volatility, but I think the company made a very good decision that protects their employees:
They only get in BTC anything above minimum wage. As the name implies, even if the BTC part of their salary went down or even to complete 0, the remaining fiat portion of the salary is still, well, the minimum wage, so something that people should be able to live on. So the company isn't putting the employees at risk imho.

And sure, the Bitcoin price sometimes drops by 50%. But in the long run it's a damn straight line upwards, so what the employees which opt in are doing, is DCA'ing every month automatically, which is a great idea.
And if they really need to touch those BTC funds short term, they can either sell a portion on an exchange again or just buy Bitrefill giftcards for their local grocery store, Amazon, clothing shops etc. or use a BTC credit card.

It's not uncommon to even receive 50% or more of your salary in Bitcoin in the U.S., since they have services which allow employers to pay in regular bank transfers, but the employees receive all BTC or part BTC, part USD.
And they don't just HODL that BTC either, but also use it in shops that allow Bitcoin payments and through services like Bitrefill and Lastbit, for example.

My employer gave us a choice.... You tell them what percentage of your salary ..they should pay out to you in Bitcoin (No other coins) ... and I prefer it that way, because I buy bitcoins every month.. so if I do it or they do it... it stay just the same.  Wink

This actually stimulated a lot of interesting stories of people who never saved a single dime in their life ...and now with this incentive, they started saving for the first time. (Some even as small as $50 to $100 per month)  Cool

Some of these people have been using their bitcoins to buy lunch at the Cafeteria, because the employer has also started accepting Bitcoin as a payment method for the Cafeteria. (Lightning Network payments)  Wink

The adoption of bitcoin needs to be implemented in the local store to work in one country. Otherwise, the employees still need to convert their bitcoin into local fiat money before they can use it to buy their daily needs.

It will take attention from the government to ask the company related with the payment in bitcoin for their employees because their employees need to pay tax and I am not sure that the country is ready to calculate the tax.

But if that can give work successfully, maybe that can be a new model for other countries to integrate their employee's payment using bitcoin.

Sounds nice at a glance but I just checked and dominos in local areas near me do not have anything of the sort,,, they even do not allow you to pay in BTC so I really do not see how they even pay salaries in btc.

I know, the news is just for one branch or one franchisee or whatever it is called.

So nothing big after all right?

This depends on the type of currency that will be used as a measure, if the full payment is in the form of Bitcoin with a fixed amount, then I think this will be a problem, as your own interrogative sentence

~snip~
the main point is that if they hold it as investment for long term they can have huge profits but what if they want to make transaction and buy stuff with it and higher transaction fees became issue for them as workers might not want to pay higher amount in fees only with small amount of Bitcoins.

I think for now the full implementation of salaries in the form of Bitcoin is still too early. Unless done by:
(1) Giving the amount of their salary still calculated with Fiat but paid in Bitcoin, then it is the employee's sole right and responsibility to keep or exchange their Bitcoin salary. This is because the value of the price of necessities in many countries still refers to Fiat, If price volatility occurs, both the company and the employees can harm each other. When the price of Bitcoin goes up, the company has to spend more Fiat to pay employee salaries, and employees make big profits, on the other hand, if the price of Bitcoin when payday drops drastically, then employees will lose because their Fiat needs remain, but get their Fiat from Bitcoin much reduced

(2) Does not violate existing regulations in the country. Most countries still have not fully regulated Bitcoin as a means of payment. Of course, this will be a legal problem if forced to pay salaries using Bitcoin.

(3)There are many merchants and legal who are willing to accept payments in Bitcoin.

Now as time goes by, more and more companies and fields accept Bitcoin and Bitcoin as payment methods and use Bitcoin to pay employees' salaries. I am very happy to see that these institutions can choose Bitcoin. I hope that more and more companies and institutions will recognize Bitcoin in the future, so that Bitcoin can be widely used worldwide.

I think the crypto enthusiasts in this company are very happy to hear this news. As a working class, I also exchange part of my salary every month and exchange it for usdt. If the salary is directly paid in Bitcoin, I don’t have to Pay the extra handling fee.

The use of Bitcoin is on the rise. The popular population is also increasing.
Now many elderly people are constantly learning Bitcoin knowledge and will also use Bitcoin to pay.
There are already many companies and factories that use cryptocurrency as wages.
After this good news, more and more companies will definitely consider cryptocurrency as a salary payment.

If I understand correctly, this applies only to those in the franchise in the Netherlands, and only to the excess beyond the minimum salary? Also, if it says they can convert a part of the salary into Bitcoin, I assume it means they receive it in fiat, but then there is a mechanism of converting it at the place of their employment or a bank to which their salary cards are linked? I wonder how this will work in practice, whether it will have additional tax implications or at least bureaucracy attached to it, and how many people are actually going to be interested in this opportunity.

The idea is really great and we hope to see the spread of such practical applications to use Bitcoin everywhere, but I see that it is impractical at the moment due to the difficulties that the Bitcoin network is experiencing due to the problem of high fees and delays in transaction time, employees will not be happy when they see an important part of their salary Turns into a fee!! But on the other hand, they will be very happy to see Bitcoin rise to new highs.
What I mean, there are negatives and positives in applying such ideas to the use of Bitcoin, but of course I am with the spread of such ideas because this helps us a lot in overcoming the existing problems and finding solutions to them.

I appreciate all the companies that adopt Bitcoin, but we shouldn't pay much attention to this news.
A company with 1000 employees allows them to get a relatively small part of their salaries in Bitcoins(only if they want to).Damn, such massive BTC adoption will bring the BTC price back to 60K for sure! Grin
This happens, only because the company CEO heard some employees "talking about Bitcoin".  Grin This is hilarious.

Yes I also don't know this types of offering thank you for this information and I am glad to hear this and appreciate to all these companies.

Talking about bitcoin is how it starts in the first place, they hear about it and they get curious and look for it themselves and learn about it. I hope that more companies adopt this strategy in the future.
