For example don't ted cruz or ben carson agree with much of what trump says? Maybe they just don't want to be left behind in the polls. But that changes the discourse more to the extreme.

Similar to Ted Cruz and Ben Carson, Donald Trump is also an anti-establishment candidate, which puts him at odds with the candidates from the establishment wing such as Chris Christie, Marco Rubio, and Jeb Bush. Now the main difference between Trump and Carson / Cruz is that Trump is very outspoken while the other two doesn't have the courage to speak out whatever they want.

Has this become the main election issue this time around?

I don't think Trump will still be relevant in April 2016. Republicans are not that dumb try to put him in the White House. Let him enjoy his time right now. He won't run for president next year.

Don't know about that. Many are tired of the same politicians in power. And now want something new. Maybe fascists like trump. Or maybe socialists or something else. But trump may look different to the other republican candidates but I don't know if he is that much. For example don't ted cruz or ben carson agree with much of what trump says? Maybe they just don't want to be left behind in the polls. But that changes the discourse more to the extreme.

According to the poll 65% of republican voters support the muslims ban.

The most important thing is that 37% of all the voters support his proposal, including even 18% of the Democrat voters.

The mainstream media has lost its ability to brainwash the voting public, to a certain degree.

Wrong.  The oil fields around here and many other places in the USA are complete, so the only job is to pull the oil out.  What will happen is the ground leases will be renegotiated, and production will continue.  Exploration and drilling of new wells needs higher prices, yes.

Oil wells being drilled after fracking doesn't last long. New wells needs to be drilled very frequently. And the crude oil extraction is a very labor intensive process. This plays to the disadvantage of the American crude oil producers, as the labor costs there are more than 10 times that in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait or Qatar.

This starts economically, and in particular it means getting independanet of foreign oil.  Thanks to the US Fracking industry to get that accomplished, after the Democratic party in the pockets of the Saudis over four decades destroyed the ability of the US to be energy independent through nuclear power.

Fracking is a very expensive process, and with the crude oil prices dipping below the $40 per barrel mark, not many of the American oil producers will be able to survive. In the past 6 months or so, the American crude output has declined by almost 5%. Nuclear energy is a good alternative, but trucks and cars can't run on electricity. They need gasoline.

The oil business has ALWAYS been cyclical.  Everyone here knows that.

The best way to fix this problem is not now but in the future. We need to keep our nose out of the Middle East and quit breeding war torn countries where all the people know is misery and hate.

This is just election rhetoric. I don't think that he will put this in to practice, if he ever become the POTUS. He is not going to lose any votes as a result of this. Almost all the American Muslims vote democrat, and they are very loyal to Hillary (especially after it was revealed that her lesbian partner is a Muslim of Pakistani origin).

Donal Trump has valid reasons. Muslim countries are not welcoming their so-called Muslim refugees brothers, so why must non-Muslim countries accept them. Moreover these Muslim countries must respect and abide their hosts countries norms.

Turkey, Jordan and Lebanon has accepted millions of refugees from Syria. But Saudi Arabia and Qatar, two of the countries which triggered the civil war in Syria by arming the Islamist groups there have refused to accept even a single refugee from that nation. So why the Western nations should bear this responsibility? Trump is 100% right.

How many muslim refugees has the US accepted?
Trump is talking about immigration in general, and not refugees.

Oh, let the Muslims come. It will give the cops something to use for target practice rather than us citizens.

Syed Rizwan Farook, the ISIS jhadi who perpetrated the 2015 San Bernardino shooting was an American citizen. And more importantly, he was born in Chicago, Illinois to parents who were naturalized US citizens. This means that even if you place a carpet ban on Muslim immigration to the United States, w.e.f 2016 January, there is still a chance of a terror attack happening.

And Obama has banned surveillance of Mosques.

Whose side is he on....

August 2, 2011- In an interview with Countdown host Keith Olbermann on Tuesday, former vice president and Current TV founder Al Gore said the United States needed an “American spring” like the Arab spring in the Middle East and Northern Africa.

“We need to have an American spring,” he said. “Non-violent change, where people from the grassroots get involved again. Not in the tea party style. There are people who are genuinely upset in the tea party, I understand that, but that movement was funded with seed money from right-wing billionaires, the Koch brothers, and promoted on Fox News and turned into a stalking horse for this right-wing agenda that a lot of people have been trying to push on this country for a long time.”

“This country is in trouble,” Gore added. “Our democracy has been withering on the vine. This has been going on for some time.”

Monday on Countdown, Gore called the U.S. system of government “broken” and “in real trouble.”

Trump is correct about more restriction on Muslim immigrants more than any other religions. If we do not take this hardline now, we will continue to pay the ultimate consequences of our reluctant actions to tackle this problem head-on as we should have done many years ago.

What if in response, all those Muslim countries ban all US citizens and all Christians from entering their countries? Sounds like Trump's idea could cause a world wide economic meltdown--of course for which he would blame President Obama.

Good. Islam must be banned, too. If I were a citizen of the US I'd 100% vote for Trump.

Rather, ban the legal code against any human being that hasn't harmed anyone. Let only the corporations be under the legal code.
