scrypt is pointless, if you want to attract more miners use the far more energy efficient X11...

Scrypt isn't pointless, but q3 and q4 of this year will really change things thats for sure. What is x11?

Another coin that releases source to specific pools prior to the public.....weak.

The source will be released to all eligible pools.

This is what I was talking about in my previous post as to how we will have a stress free, smooth launch. We won't have the same issue h2o coin had where a pool launched early and there was unfair mining going on.

  The First Ever Stress-Free Launch

Launch day should be exciting. We don’t want you to be scrambling to find a working pool or to realize the pool you signed up with is having problems and you need to make a last minute switch. We also want to prevent the unfair advantage some people are able to get by being the first solo miner on a new coin. So we’ve devised a unique plan for launch, here’s what you can expect:

Clean Water Coin will launch with three pools. One pool will be an official pool run by us and the other two will be temporary launch pools. The official pool will function like any other pool (except the 1% fee will go directly to the Charity Wallet) however the temporary pools will be designed to filter all miners to community pools as soon as those are available--we will achieve this by helping users create a correct failover setup so that as soon as their community pool of choice is live the miner will switch to that pool. Here is an example launch schedule to give you a better idea:

Leading up to launch day users will be asked to sign up at one of the Clean Water Coin pools. If the official pool has too many miners signing up, overwhelmingly disproportionate to the temporary pools, we will close registration. At this same time we will be working with Pool Operators to provide you with a list of community pools to sign up with as well. We will ask anyone who signs up on one of our temporary pools to also sign up at a community pool. Then we will provide all users with a clear list of instructions for setting up a failover pool.

On Launch day, the moment we go live these three pools will be immediately available. At this same time we will release the source code and community pools will begin setting up. As soon as the community pools are live your miners will automatically switch over and the network of community pools will function like other coins. We will run the two temporary pools for a period of time to make sure if any community pools go down that miners will have the ability to automatically switch back to our working pool and not suffer any extended down times. The plan is then to eventually shut off the temporary pools and only run one official pool along with a thriving community and a healthy spread of network hash rates. The result will be a stress-free launch for miners, pool operators, and us!

We have absolutely no affiliation with h2o coin. It was sad to see their failed launch today, we hope they can figure out their problems and salvage that mess. We've actually designed a launch process to eliminate the exact issue they had, you can check it out under "The First Ever Stress Free Launch."

BTW, please read the above posts regarding charity affiliations.

The Clean Water Coin Initiative is the first ever coin designed and developed to be a nonprofit organization. What does that mean? We are a registered Nonprofit Organization and we’ve teamed up with CharityWater.org to create a Crypto Charity and coin that lets a community actively participate in helping provide clean water.

Please explain how you've 'teamed up' with CharityWater.org?

I don't see your 'coin' anywhere on their site, please provide copies of communication validating your partnership ...
I sustain.

Have you seen this? http://my.charitywater.org/digital-drop-initiative-the-launch

is that not just a public site where anyone can just make a profile and post anything?

where does it say that site supports you?

Hey Sluppy, you must have missed my earlier reply to greentea and platorin. Here it is:

Quote
Hello greentea! Great question and I'd be happy to describe what our relationship with charity: water is.

When we first considered doing Clean Water Coin we researched a handful of of reputable charities specializing in providing clean water. That search quickly led us to charity: water who has an amazing "100% donation into the field" program where they are able to translate every dollar that gets donated to them into a meaningful project in the field where water is needed most. We loved how openly and honestly they perform their work, and our team unanimously agreed they would be the best charity to work with. So we contacted their Corporate Parnerships Department and spoke with Chinyelu who was a wonderful help in showing us how we could participate with charity: water and help a fundraising campaign to help bring water to those in need. And so we started the Clean Water Coin Digital Drop Fundraising Campaign. The money that we raise at Clean Water Coin will go to our projects listed there and the community will be able to track exactly how much money we've raised and donated.

The type of partnership we have is akin to how an Organization Partners with or Sponors a charitable cause or how a Corporate Partnership with charities works. We do not have a co-branding deal or legal partnership. We've teamed up with charity: water like other organizations have in the past and are currently doing, and if you feel so inspired we urge you to do so as well! Getting safe, clean water to those in need is a huge endeavor and the more people involved the better!

I went and updated that paragraph of text in the first post so that it more clearly states our relationship, it now says the following:

The Clean Water Coin Initiative is the first ever coin designed and developed to be a nonprofit organization. What does that mean? We are a registered Nonprofit Organization and we’ve created a Crypto Charity and coin that lets a community actively participate in helping provide clean water. To do that we've teamed up with CharityWater.org so that we can create campaigns and raise funds for clean water projects. Also, the community can easily track exactly how we are doing by visiting our campaign page.

If this is truly a 'nonprofit coin' why the need for the IPO?

Why dont you just direct investors to donate directly to charitywater.org?

You're way better off launching the coin without any IPO/premine, and the coin has a much better chance of success...

If people would rather donate straight to charity: water, via our Digital Drop project for example, we hope they do and we support that. If you feel strongly about it and will donate to the charity: water project instead we would be incredibly happy. Yes we have a goal to build an amazing coin that expands the way people can get involved in charities and donate, but seeing the help and funds raised for water increase world wide is also our goal--if that happens it would be amazing.

Regarding the IPO, I know there are a good number of people in the community that don't like them. It's something we discussed at great length while we were planning everything out, and we still discuss it. In the end there are many plans and developments we wouldn't be able to do without having an IPO and we would of had to sacrifice those things. We've laid out a nice marketing plan that includes buying ad space on multiple platforms, we have press releases written and scheduled for disbursement, we have sponsorships we're putting together with some awesome small businesses, and we have a huge goal of turning Clean Water Coin into a charity where we are funding our own clean water projects and be able to offer charitable deductions for donations.

Our hope is that by being transparent and up front about everything that's going on and including the community that we can convince you and others like you that mining and using Clean Water Coin is a good thing. Don't participate in the IPO if its the sort of thing that you don't trust, I'm not trying to convince you to invest. Instead, join us at launch and mine WATER and use the coin, by doing just that you will be helping to raise funds for our charity: water projects. How? We've built in a unique function where 0.1% of each transaction goes to the Charity Wallet. Those coins are exchanged for BTC and then exchanged to USD and donated to our charity: water Digital Drop projects. The community will be able to see the amount of funds raised and those details will be continually updated.
