Speaking on Telegram, it's expected that it's prone to scams.
I don't know how hackers leaked your account and contacted you but AFAIK, those of your friends who saved your number even without knowing you will receive a notification that you're joining Telegram.

We should be careful in using Telegram, and never entertain strange people especially those sending you a DM with malicious links.
This isn't new, we've encountered different tactics on scammer people using Telegram, keep in mind that Telegram is a house of scammers.

Goodnight, o_e_l_e_o 🌹
I have successfully deactivated my telegram group, although I have some plans to reactivate it. I have seen that I do not make money through telegram and I do not also offer services or promote goods with my telegram, and yet I am exposed to some scammer who go.on by sending unsolicited to messages to individuals. This is worse when you are a in a group where the admin is not strong and it seems that nothing is regulated. People send in messages, pretending to be admin or working with admin to Sam people.

With what OP presented, it is enough reasons for we to understand that nothing is free anywhere even in Free Town. If you are asked to claim any amount of money you didn't work for, know that it is a scam. No one gives random people that don't know money.

This has been happening for a very long time and I don't think most of us who are well versed with online scams will even bother opening these messages but some might wonder if you are not a part of any telegram group then how did these scammer even get through your DM. There are lot of ways which scammers can use and we have even seen some scammers checking the bounty spreadsheet for telegram username and imposture themselves as admin and share such links where people often fall for scam. We need to understand that no one pays $10 or even $1 for free. If something is free then you are the product.
>
Many people have got their account hacked because they were easily tricked clicking on unsolicited messages with links making them to fall vulnerable to attackers from hackers. This is one of the things we need to be careful of when people send us links.
We need to be prepared to delete messages or block them if we find out that those messages are to be spam. Spam messages are easy to know and we don't have to waste time allowing them to keep coming to our dm. It is better we block those messages as soon as possible.

I can say, the telegram channel has a lot of scammers on the loose.
In my experience alone, some will just add you to their group or send unsolicited PM.
Better ignore them if you don't know any of them, and when it comes to telegram group, what i would usually do is block the group and report it as a spam.
I don't know how this social media is curbing their fraudulent issues but I believe, so much scam is happening in this platform.

Like I said, it's a new telegram account, and I have not joined any serious telegram groups apart from that of my campaign manager and another manager whom I have worked with while I was yet member rank.

There you have your answer, what you said at first was yuh haven’t joined any telegram group and that’s why we were curious because it is the easiest place that scammers would get your contact. Being in campaign group from this forum doesn’t mean that scammers wouldn’t be there because even the campaign manager can’t censor the group members there and that’s why most of them put out the non link rule. Just activate the restriction to DM you by unknown numbers.

Are you sure you are not in any active telegram group that you are not aware of? Or maybe you have used the line to reg for telegram before, which you later wipe out, because it will be hell of a work for these scammers to go through and make some random username guesses just to send in some fake link to them.

Like I said, it's a new telegram account, and I have not joined any serious telegram groups apart from that of my campaign manager and another manager whom I have worked with while I was yet member rank.

You need to Change the contact settings to stop unknown people from messaging you

Thanks for the idea; I actually forgot I could do that because that's a better option to avoid unsolicited DMs.

You have to ask yourself: How do scammers know your telegram? Because you may end up getting attacked in a way that you didn't expect. Nowadays, scammers are very sophisticated in their methods of collecting user information. They collect everything together: information from social networks, information about your family, and other data that can be found about you on the Internet. And then, under the name of a friend or relative, they will be able to deceive you at a completely unexpected moment. Therefore, I would suggest checking all the connections that you show on the Internet and, if necessary, reducing them to a minimum.

In other discussions, it's been said that scammers can get the personal details of an individual through various means. You are right, I will just have to recheck all my connections.

Thank you for saying something about this but almost everyone is aware of this nowadays, it has become a normal thing in crypto space and I can't even count how many times I have gotten something similar to this, telegram is full of people who are ready to steal from any newbies who knows nothing, the lesson that everyone should learn here is to never give strangers any attention either Telegram or Twitter, these scammers are everywhere online today.

There is also a new trick that is almost perfect and if you are not careful you might fall easily into the hands of these scammers, have you seen where by a telegram group of an official project got copied with the same exact followers in the fake one? And somehow they will add you, saying they are doing some airdrops? If I don't have anything against free offers and airdrops already I would have fall for the traps.

If it's a must for you to use telegram make sure you adjust the security, change > who can add me to any group to > Nobody and you will be safe from these criminals, also adjust your PMs too as people can send you malicious links on telegram as well.

OP, thank you for sharing such a message with us. When we log into our Telegram account, many times we can see different Telegram avatars giving such messages. There are many who are not very aware they believe such messages and fall prey to scams. But to date I have never entered a message that didn't lead to a scam. Because I was warned about such fraud long ago.

Lately, I have been getting some unsolicited private messages on my new Telegram account, while I am not in any Telegram groups to warrant such users getting my account profile to send those PMs.
DM first is risky. You should ignore those strangers and information they sent to you in DMs.

DM first and provides something too good to be true, it is a clearer signal of scam.

Lately, I have been getting some unsolicited private messages on my new Telegram account, while I am not in any Telegram groups to warrant such users getting my account profile to send those PMs.

The content of the message, as shown in the image below, reads, "Claim $10 USDT." I am fully aware it's from scammers. I received the first message from a different Telegram user, and the second message from a different person whose account got blocked before the end of the day he sent the message.

Not possible, you should be in any telegram famous group otherwise it is almost impossible to reach any telegram username. I know how this method works, there are some scrip used in this process. first of all the script will copy username from group and then bulk dm option is available where message sent to all copied username.

You can store many telegram account so the person sending you messages from different telegram account and your username already saved with scammer and you will get almost every day this type of messages.

Guys, please be warned; don't feel tempted to fall into the trap of these scammers, they are everywhere looking for victims. You never can tell; you might be clicking on a malware link and end up exposing your private information to scammers, and they can just steal your assets or have you on their watch list.
Yes safety is first priority when we do online business especially cryptocurrency. Why someone give you 10 usdt without knowing him and if it is a platform giving 10 usdt then instead of advertising why not promoter make multiple accounts and earn 10 usdt. This is common sense problem and greedy person will fall in this

Smart is not enough, there must be skills
I call it Telegram is more of a den of scammers, you will definitely receive PMs from people you don't know even this is often, you will be added to groups that are not clear usually it is about fake investments or ponzi schemes, it can also be added to trading channels that's what I felt during my time as a telegram user and honestly I was lazy to open it again.

This is an unusual classic scam, many people will realize that it is clearly a scam and do not click on any links provided by scammers, it is better not to open messages from people you don't know, they usually try to scam you in this way.

This is one of the most basic in terms of security dos and don'ts. I guess there are still some who fall to this uncreative fraud even if it only takes a little common sense on how to respond to it.

If a stranger suddenly comes out of nowhere bringing gifts, that's a very obvious red flag. It should be discarded right away. You ask, what if it's true? What if there is indeed that freebie? Forget it, whether there's indeed that freebie or not, it isn't worth it. Taking a big risk for that worthless freebie? That's not logical.

But what if the freebie is significant? Then it's an additional red flag; it's not something that should convince you to try it. There has to be a catch somewhere. If something significant is given freely, you're the product or the victim.

I think if you search the forum you might find tens of thread created about different telegram scams, I am even following no of calling it the den of scammers. It is shocking how some telegram hackers get your number although it is mostly not common if you didn’t join a group. You need to Change the contact settings to stop unknown people from messaging you

Pretty much all the unsolicited messages are spam and scam, they are not worth even reading, and sometimes even opening them could get you hacked if there's a severe vulnerability in an app. Better configure the settings to disable messages from people who are not on your contact list. No one ever became rich by responding to money making offers lol.

This is another scam fashioned to take advantage of the season and how much people are in need of some kind of extra money to meet up with the extra demand and needs for the season for self and family. Be okay with what you have an do not try to claim bonuses when you are suspicious of a message, and the message sent from a new sender or source that is very untrustworthy and unreliable. Scammers will always keep trying out their method to lure and catch victims, it will be bad if any member of this forum still becomes victim to this.

Telegram is full of these scammers and even on whatsapp and other messaging apps where our numbers are associated with.

They have a way to determine if the number or account is active and they'll just send a blast of messages to all of these numbers trying to get on a victim for the most contacts that they have.

Bull run is approaching, more of these scams are coming and they might reinvent their strategies to just let people click on those scam/phishing links.

I have experienced such too but my was as a result of being a member of an active channel like CMC, Coingecko etc so my username got there attention and they direct messaged me with such tempting links.
Personally I know that no company or some cryptocurrencies will Dm you to claim their rewards so obviously it would a scammers attempt.

Mind you there are no permanent ways to stop receiving such Dm(s) you only have to be cautious on how you react to such information and never to hit the links.

Protect your self guys.

This isn't something new, telegram is a well known place for scammers.its easier for them to catch potential newbies over there on telegram. For me, I had to exist all external groups on my telegram and archived those that were less useful, so as to avoid receiving such scam messages.

The best thing is to create a new telegram account with a new phone line and avoid joining telegram groups with unknown participants. Most of them are just scammers looking for fresh fish to fry. Let's all be careful.

How I know this guys got their target audience is to visit a group or channel where you are either just a member or active in there, get the usernames of the members, and send them DMs bit by bit so they can be able to locate who was recently active and who was not, so I will advise you to run a back group check to see if you were on a channel before or not.

Or maybe some Telegram username scrapper tool has been discovered, and usernames can be sold out to those who want to use it for marketing or scamming.
