Let's begin with the Writing a welcome message from theymos (the forum's admin). It is the first topic you have to begin with.

Read it entirely and you will see theymos allocates a special section for how to get earnings on the forum. His advice is very useful for new users. I am surprising to see it has not yet been a pinned topic. I hope that topic will be pinned ASAP.

Good thing you have tried to engage to this forum if you are really that interested in cryptocurrencies. To answer your questions, Merits are being sent by other people in this forum if they would like your reply, or the topic you have created, it is more of an interaction between users in this forum, like compliments perhaps, if you did something good. The best thing to do in order to improve the quality of your topic is to be on point and also, to provide credible data to your claim for example or opinion in order for other people to agree with the subject matter. Merit is a bit hard to earn, some users are not participating in a way that they are not sending merits, but we cannot blame them for doing so because that is their decision whether to give or not. If you won't be merited, do not be upset, just continue to inteact within this forum, because there are people here who are 'active' in giving merit to other users. Just enjoy the experience as you learn new things, and other things would follow.

Because building your account is more than hard from find a job on real life.
Agreed. You said absolutely right. Basically, for a newcomer it is really very hard to build/rank up an account after the merit system start. But some intelligent user still building their account by doing hard works from a newbie. And honestly, I want to say money/knowledge/stay in the forum is possible to achieve by these intelligent users.

If your intention is earning money from forum then I will say please find a good job on your real life. This forum isn't money making machine and probably you will not able to earn from here expect some bounty & airdrop dust. Because building your account is more than hard from find a job on real life. But yes, if your intention is learning and sharing purpose on this forum likely you will able to build your account. I have doubts of your intentions since your goal of join this forum is earning purpose. In a result you won't focus to your contributions. Money earning goal will prevent your from your contributions.

The question is how I had build and earning from forum? Ten I will suggest please check my post history from beginning and I will suggest to read post history of self made users here who have build their account here. Everyone have share different experiences & knowledge, so please change your goal and continue read post made by self made users then you may realized how you will able to build your account.

This forum is not easy at first but hard work and dedication will help. So far you are determined, you will experience new skills and knowledge here on the forum.
My advise for you is to create good posts but how can you know how to create good post?
You should check for merited posts and see how it is well writing. You will have more experience and help you to gain more merit in the future by creating more quality posts.

You can look for some thread here and ask the original creator of the topic to translate it. In this method, you can help your fellow countrymen and also you can earn some experience by taking your time making some good and quality posts.
When done with good intentions, this is actually a helpful contribution to the forum. But it is sometimes abused and a means of merit hunting.
I have once gotten a pm from a recently awoken account to translate one of my posts in his/her local section, to which I agreed cause, none native speakers should be allowed to read through important threads on the forum. You can get merited for the effort but one should not offer services to the forum with merit as the primary desire.

Welcome to this forum mate, don't mind first on how are you going to earn from this forum, the things that you should prioritize is how are you going to learn from this forum, gaining knowledge is more important compared of making money because you can be successful in this forum if you have so much knowledge.

It is true that we need merits for us to level up our rank, by creating quality posts you may gain merits if you have created a good posts and it seems like so helpful to everyone, then if someone appreciates that post he or she may give you merit.

So creating quality posts here is really important, always think on how are you going to contribute well.

Not the best way to start also imo, but isn't it already the norm with newbies, this particular one is even being honest that he's here to earn, you can then ask what could give someone the impression/belief of coming into a forum to make money from the start.

Yup, still a Newbie asking the "I'm gonna (shit)post just for the money, don't mind me showing me how" kind of posts shouldn't be encouraged. Not explicitly referring to the OP, but you get what I mean.

But if it's someone who's joined for a while, that's more acceptable since chances are he/ she could have discovered the signature campaigns after spending some time here.

You go first to your local section and look for the things that have not been there, like for example some tips to prevent yourself from getting hack.
Not every user has a local board designated for their country, for example I do not have any local board on the forum where I can post in my native or local dialect, so OP should know that his having a local board would depend on his country of origin, and that even without a local board you can still make it on the forum.
Beginner straight away asking for Merit... not a good way to start.

Beginner straight away asking for Merit... not a good way to start.

But I don't blame you since many of us, including myself were like you back then. Here's the golden rule, don't post solely for Merit. While there are legit posters doing so for informative purposes (e.g. how many users have ranked up since Jan 2020), blatantly hinting for Merits won't help (much) because many seniors/ old timers here could smell BS from a mile away.

Recently a newbie posted a guide on how to earn Merits when he himself had none, and you might have guessed, it didn't sit too well among the rest.

Just enjoy your stay and be helpful, while genuinely engaging in conversations. They'll come naturally Smiley

My regards to admin, staffs, legendaries and other members of this forum.

First, I am so glad to join this forum. I have been hearing about it for weeks, all I heard about it seem to be true. All posts I have read so far are of best quality. So, this is a challenge for me but I will try my best to make the forum have more quality by creating quality posts because quality posts makes the forum quality.

Truth be told, I am here for money but to get money in life is not easy. So, I know already that to get money here is not easy, it requires three things that my parents always told me since I was young. It requires
Diligence
Patience
Opportunity

So, with these, I have to work hard on the forum, later I will graduate to legendary. If legendary is the highest rank as I think.

As you now know, I am new here. Please, I need some clue to what are still not clear to me about the forum.
With what I have noticed, I need merit to rank up on the forum.
Who are merit senders?
How can I get merit?
What to do to make my posts attractive on the forum?
If your post is of high quality but not merited. What should I do?

I am waiting for response, and thank you in advance.
Ones again, I am so glad to be here with you people.

Best if you read first the rules to see those things needed for its been link already so I think you read it and you must follow it.

and for the merit things here don't feel upset or discourage if your post didn't get merited since its normal and maybe in next post you can get those so make sure you are on topic and do some helpful things to get what you wanted.

and also explore every corner on this forum and you will find more good topics which can help you grow and also beware also of scams since its not moderated si take extra precaution if you want to invest in some some platforms here.

@ iasenko. I appreciate you for the so much helpful link. Now I know a lot about the forum.

But if someone's post is well merited, can the posts continue to count before the 14th day?

I don't know exaclty what you are talking about but let it make more clear.

Let's separate the activity from merit.

The 14th days cycle is only for the activity. If you make let's say 20 posts in one cycle of 14 days, you get only 14 points of activity for that period. If you make only 1 post in the next activity cycle you get back the other 6 points of activity as well so you have total 21 posts and 21 activity.

Merit on the other hand don't care about the activity cycles.
If you receive 1 merit today, you gonna have this merit til the end of the forum (if theymos does not change the system in the future of course) you can't loose it, there are some exceptions* as well but you probably won't face them anyway.

Basically your meirt score won't decrease, can only increase. There are other merit called sMerit ( sendable merit) which you accumulate by receiving merits for your posts. The ratio is 2 received merit creates 1 sendable. That's pretty much all you need to know at the begging.

Can you clarify what does this means?

A post (as long as it is not deleted) will always get counted in the user total posts. Merit is not included in that formula. If you're talking about whether it still counts towards the activity, it depends on when and how many posts that the user has created within that period.

Hi MrcMrc! Probably, you have already had a look into this topic as it is pinned on the board you created this topic. I'd recommend paying attention to every single part of it as it contains all the information those a new user of the forum may possibly need. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/newbies-read-before-posting-1689727

@ Jawhead999. thank you so much too. You post is really helpful.

I will try my best on the forum to work toward posting good posts. Normally, plagiarism and spamming are not acceptable in any organization. It is good if anybody that plagiarize or spam is banned from the forum.

Hi @MrcMrc welcome to Bitcointalk! Hope you enjoyed here...

First you should know what is merit first,
Quote
Merit is a new system created in order to reward quality contributions to the forum. Now to rise through ranks you will also need to acquire Merit in addition to Activity.

Quote
Who are merit senders?

All user can give their merit if they have sMerit. For every Merit they receive they will have 0.5 spendable merit to reward posts as they see fit.
Example if you get 2 merit, you can give your 1 sMerit to anyone post

Quote
How can I get merit?

You can get merit if you create high quality, helpful, or meaningful post. Do as much as you can for contribute in this forum. People will give you merit if they think your post deserve to get merit.

Quote
What to do to make my posts attractive on the forum?

Keep in mind, better to make a standard post with high quality and helpful, than making a beautiful and attractive post with bad quality. Because people will read your content, not the design. But it doesn't matter to make it more attractive, check this link [GUIDE] Making Quality Thread + Grammar Check

Quote
If your post is of high quality but not merited. What should I do?

If you think your post is very high quality but not get merited, you can post it in list of unmerited good post [self-moderated] Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source

First you need to learn how to use the search engine. There are already many different threads about how to get merit.
Check my Comprehensive guide to Bitcointalk. there is also a lot of info.
Pretty much all you need in the beginning.

Tips: Don't focus on earning from the day 1, focus on learning, the benefits will come later. Same IRL, you need to study to find a good job, so you can't just spam around and expect to get merit, rank up and earn.
