Leading Crypto Sports Betting & Casino Platform
It's not just in the forum where a random stranger send you a private messages. Earlier, I received a private message in telegram and ask me if I am a crypto holder. I said yes just to make him spill out some info about what he want me to acces and he did. He said he is a moderator of a gambling platform called coinbetx[dot]com then I check the domain and it was creaton on september 2020. So, it's better not to follow the instructions of that person.

Do you know why these people keep on trying their luck on us because many of us will agree to their plan and will lose the money. You and me know that such emails and messages are fraud and their purpose is to get hold of our money, but many innocent people think they are right and therefore those people lose money and this give confidence to scammers to keep on trying on other people and get easy money out of them.

I also experienced this kind of invite to strangers that I don't know when I was a newbie in this forum. I mostly encounter this kind of private message in my Telegram and Twitter account that I sometimes play along with them until they give up, and I will block them after that. It is good that we know this kind of fraudulent schemes in this forum and other social media sites because it is the leading cause of how you will get scammed.

Need Campaign Manager?PM on telegram @sujonali1819
I got lots of messages similar to this. Not just here on Bitcointalk, but also in social media, email, etc. We don't just simply trust these types of messages as they were desperate in asking for money. I've been there before as a newbie, and I almost fell trap on it. Good thing that I've consulted with some of my friends about this, and I took their advice in deleting the said email for good.

The sad thing is that these scammers are targeting mostly newbies and beginners who are not yet aware of this scheme that already exists for a long time (even before Bitcoin was born).
Does that mean you have received such a message in this forum too? Did you report it to the moderator? Or did you create any thread in reputation board about the user who messages you? If no then you should do that to help the people to know those scammers who are continuously sending this type of shady message.

OP I just have searched the words on google and see many have already reported these messages. But not sure how to they succeed with this way.

Yes, it's good to Flow to people you know very well than the stranger you don't know. There are many scammers pretending to help you, not knowing that the  person is looking for way to have access to all your private details.

For me, it's okay to reply as long as you don't easily give your trust since it's a stranger you are talking to. But if that's the kind of message I will receive, No. I won't bother to reply to that and will just ignore it, I mean it's pretty obvious that it's a sort of scam trying if you will get swayed by the message. But for me, the message is not tempting at all because who would believe that some random old lady is willing to give her money to random people just because she's dying.

Obvious scam bullshit, so please report anyone sending you anything similar.
I agree with you that, we shouldn't comply with messages of this nature as it's often scam oriented and to note, Mrs. Elizabeth Edward should have a real friend, cousin, uncle or relatives in what ever category that she could trust or even from the husband's side to handle such task for her, why won't she have the time to use that option than spending time over the web to confuse in a total stranger on financial affairs... It sounds phishy right? Obviously a cheap scam technique.

Again, not replying to private messages from strangers on the forum is kind of not idea for me. For a fact, we are all anonymous to ourselves or at least 90% are though, not a proven statistics. We might be familiar with a few names based on how active the user are but we still remain anonymous and at times, you just might choose to converse with another familiar either because, you feel the user is the best to aid you in answering a particular question or recommend something for you. Not really asking you for financial aiding or trying to divert you to some place or platform. Else, I don't see anything wrong in replying PM from strangers but, the issue of complying and clicking links is very much up to you.

Not just forum, I made a mistake of using email for airdrops and I literally receive this kind of mails daily, either from the ones who got cancer and want money or they got cancer and want to donate me their money. Reading these gives a good laugh nonetheless.
Sincerely they're not harmful when ignored or report as a spam. Series of them had been in my inbox without any attempt to open because of their act of flooding the inbox the more. Though, some of my mails already bartered with spam has been disbanded which I thought should be the best option too.

The only risk they post is: some of their sent links contains harmful  viruses like Trojans among notable virus which can be avoided through outright abandonment of the affected mails.

You own the pen
I thought there was someone in the community who sent you some weird messages. Anyway, weird emails such as that are common especially when you posted your email in the bounty or airdrop topic which required you to do so. There are some people who happily collected them and sold them to those scammers where they'll always catch some fish (Victims) from sending those messages to the multiple emails they got. So, it's best not to publicize your email to avoid such annoying messages in your email.

This is the problem sometimes when we are trying to open our inbox to make it public there are a lot of people are trying to scam in different ways also because of this pandemic they know that most of the people are being active in the online world of the digital world of course if you are a theft it's too hard to get outside because of the pandemic why not apply your skills to the environment this is the modern kind of theft right now the scammers.

It's better to avoid entertaining that kind of people also sometimes opening the message, clicking the links, and other kind of action because sometimes there are viruses on those messages.

Just avoid.

this is like the nigerian prince. scam in the forum is very different from this one though

It is it's very notorious ten years ago and they worked on emails but since their emails landed on the spam sections or folders they changed their strategy and now resort to direct message in social media and forums, if you are active online in the past ten years you will encounter similar offers of course they are 100% scam.

I haven't received personal messages like that but I did received pms from an unknown user in this forum but I did not take notice and I leave it as it is. Most of the pms are selling scripts or gambling sited for starting your own gambling platforms but it's a scam. So, replying to such pm's is useless.

Looks promising, huh. But nah. It's pretty obvious that it's just a scam. Only a gullible person will bite such trap. I don't have any experience yet regarding emails but I have experience like this on text messages saying I won a huge amount and call him/her back; that it's from a foundation and he/she is an attorney. I just delete such messages. I don't believe those things.

I hope others won't, too. I hope they'll be suspicious when it comes to money matters. And just because someone is offering a huge amount doesn't mean they have to go on with it. Remember, if it's too good to be true, it probably is.

That is an obvious scam, whenever we received an email that asking for funds for some reasons, just ignore them, you shouldn't trust anyone in this virtual world, scammers are scammers, they usually making stories to persuade you.
Lol, although I never get such kind of mail on bitcointalk. However, it makes me laugh when remembering about this similar mail that I receive in my email (which used in freelancing platforms) plus the same method they use several months back. I tried to dig some information from them and after some conversations, they sent me several photos of grandma in a hospital, when I checked those photos on the internet it just fake photos to fool the people.
That's kinda funny when a scammer uses a shitty strategy just to fool other people, scammers have so many ways of scamming people. I have also experience before, I received an email from strangers and he is pursuing me to click the link that he gave to me, it happened because I asked for help in a telegram group and then someone messages me about the link that can help me to fix my problem and then when I already click the link it redirects me in a website which requires me to input my personal information, the website is an obvious fake website because of a wring spelling on their tagline.

You might be better off using a separate email address. It is necessary to have an email address with a complex nickname, hoping that it will be difficult to choose it for sending all kinds of spam This email address should not appear everywhere, thus you will be sure that only people you trust will write there. But for any suspicious letter, you should still resolutely refuse to correspond.

The rest of the email address, you can use according to your interests, and in that case, all incoming garbage and spam will be explained by its origin. You will know that your email address has been spotted in some places, and you don't have to be surprised when you receive fraudulent emails.

One of the caveats when reading letters from strangers is the danger of revealing your full whereabouts while you are concerned about your anonymity.

A phishing link or image sent to you can transmit not only your IP address but also all your contacts' data and data about your computer.

Its annoying to get emails like this and its not just one but countless of them. It sure to be a scam, no one does give you money as inheritance or whatever their story is without meeting and without the presence of atty. My brother and sister doesn't even email me but just chat with me or text. So I wouldn't expect any emails from someone. If you too are fed up of these type of emails that dont go away, just use your throw away emails.

I don't agree. If somebody has a problem, he can create a thread to ask for help publicly. Why PM? Is it classified information? Don't think so.

I am yet to get a meaningful PM from a newbie. It is either a shill, or somebody asking for merits or a scammer.

They can have a problem with something you said in a closed thread. They may have something to say about your behavior. They may want to ask you  about an auction, a job offer you've posted, a campaign you were in.

You'd like everyone to start threads about every single matter?

A PM is not some kind of invasion of privacy.

That makes sense. I also realized if you are active in the marketplace section, newbies might want to PM you too because google lists these topics and sometimes people find your topic via google and create an account right away.

I've read a threadlike asking for a donation of funds for parents who are in intensive care at the hospital and with their compassionate heart they send btc to the attached address, someone like an angel then confirms that it is nothing more than a scammer. If you send financial assistance, it's better if you go to a trusted foundation or a confirmed donation website address so that your donation is sent to the intended person.
That's right, or a reputable member in this forum so at least the chance is high that the funds you donated will go to the right purpose.

Like this one - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitcointalk-charity-program-give-hope-to-everyone-1-is-a-big-thing-for-them-5124375, and many more actually.
