I wonder what he keeps in that little pouch?

Bitcoins!

Or an encrypted USB stick that has his wallet holding $400 Million in Bitcoin...

Many Americans also dont know the earth rotates around the sun.

Right there should tell you the intelligence of the public.

Actually everything rotates around America because we are the center of the universes.

Nope.  The "average" person here has not heard about it.

I read a report recently showing that 42% of Americans have heard of Bitcoin

About the "quote" by the journalist that doxxed him: Journalists put quotes out of context, make quotes up, or ask variations of a question, sometimes for 10+ times just to get a quote that they know they can use out of context. The quote in the article could be a result from any of the above.

I'm disappointed that so many from the Bitcoin community would take the word of a desperate journalist so quickly.

Dont be.... i found all the idiots on here that choose to believe the story are some newbies and parasites....

They probably joined when the bitcoin price soared ... hence they want a piece of that hefty profits! none seems to understand or care about bitcoin...

That looked he was trying to get annoying reporters out of his face, I would've said the same thing. This is definitely the man - you think they just happened to find a guy named satoshi nakamoto who happens to even know what bitcoin is? That's like finding a needle in a hay stack...

Dude, hes living in LA and i'm pretty sure most avg person have heard of bitcoin. Having the same name of the pseudoname of bitcoin creator, you would rather be curious what the hell bitcoin is.

No, the average person does not know about bitcoin - especially the name of the man who invented it. He is directly quoted saying he is not longer involved in it. Why the hell would you say you're no longer involved in something you barely know anything about.

Dude, the chance of him hearing about bitcoin is much higher than any person. I mean anyone has known him would ask him if they've heard of bitcoin  first time.

Whatever, sheep will always be sheep

Is this a joke?  How would he NOT know what it is?  You honestly believe that someone named Satoshi Nakamoto wouldn't have had ANYONE come up to him over the last year and ask him if he's 'the guy'?

I live about an hour away from "Satoshi" (2 hours with traffic!  LOL)  And I mentioning to some friends that I was going to try and fund my mission trip to India in the Fall with Bitcoin last Friday night.  In a room of about 10 people not even one of them had ever even heard about Bitcoin.  Several of them are quite wealthy BTW.  Granted, none of them are "high tech" at all.  The ages ranged from 25-55 though.
