Can someone find LoyceV here?
I thought his bubble is going to be one of the bigger, ones but I can't find him anywhere.

He's not in DT1 this month, so wait for new reshuffle to see his bubble. If there were DT2 members then his bubble could be one of the biggest. Smiley

@bitmover It would be interesting if you could make one chart like this but for distrust, let's call it DT distrust network chart Wink

These are always fun to look at. Makes a lot of information easily digestible. I like how its possible to break groups ("gangs") of DT1 down into clusters.

For example:

- The lower-right is the Collectibles cluster, (minerjones, krogothmanhattan, geophreigh)
- The upper-middle is the Mods/Staff cluster (hilariousandco, achow101, Cyrus, gmaxwell)
- The left is a Scambuster cluster (lovesmayfamilis, Rikafip, Jollygood)
- The lower-middle is a 'Jacks-of-All-Trades' cluster (yahoo62278, DaveF, Sceptical Chymist)
- There's a smaller-sized Italian cluster in the upper-right (fillipone)
- There's also a small Russian cluster in the lower-left (imhoneer, KTChampions)

You can get an idea of how much interaction and overlap there is between the different groups.

I do. To be honest for last half an hour I was playing with the visualizer to see different accounts. It was interesting. It took me a long time to find my bubble though.

I actually never bothered checking DT accounts recently until today and WOW I'm surprised! There are so many troll accounts that are undeserving to be on that list. A lot of those accounts have literally zero contribution to the forum.
Good to see you around again, Joel_Jantsen.  And yeah, some of the names in the pictograph-thing I don't even recognize.  Just like the gang situation, the DT system is nothing like it once was.  It hasn't been the same since the rotation system began, and I don't even pay attention to who's on DT anymore.
Thanks, TP! Good to see you around as always and I'm assuming you're still on the DT! Exactly! A lot of old forum members that I see around don't really bother much about the DT system and just mind their own business here. Every time I come back and want to actively participate in the ongoing trends, I just can't seem to keep up or get bored very easily. I guess I'm getting old or the forum isn't as entertaining anymore or both! Sad

Sceptical Chymist [I trudge from this nickname], If a gang exists, then probably its members just want to do something but do nothing, in other words, this is an accurate portrait of the modern DT gang. BTW, for several months there has been no news of other gangs in the forum, I think it's time for GazetaBitcoin to update the thread Gangs of BitcoinTalk.
Ah, I missed your post until just now when this thread got bumped, and I appreciate the use of my preferred username.  I'm not sure if there's anything to update as far as gangs go, because the state of bitcointalk right now is nothing like it was when, say, Lauda and cryptohunter were around.

I guess I'll just embrace the change.  Cry

Great visualisation!
I was a little bit surprised to see only a little impact for local sections (only Filipino / Italian and to some extent Turky). Maybe it will change when DT1 is different next time, so I would also be happy if it's adjusted frequently.  Smiley

Edit: partially the Russian local section is also visible:

Thank you.

I believe the lack of local dt1 network might be a problem.
As there are scammers in every local, some might be able to scam others even after being identified as there is a lack of DT members.

However  , due to chart usability I excluded dt2 members from this charts
And dt2 members are also able to tag scammers. So things as not as bad as it seems for local boards.

Bitmover, It would be great if you thought about updating the data in this thread every month, considering that the list of DT members is updated by Theymos with the same periodicity ... (the last update was today DT update log).

I will try to work in a better automation to make often updates

I'm pretty sure there's no DT gang now (if there ever was one).  The whole system seems to be as fragmented as it's ever been--and there's not even a Cult of Lauda anymore!

Pretty neat visualization tool, OP.  I don't know if I'll find any use for it personally, but I'm sure it'll keep a lot of curious people busy for long periods of time just playing around with it.

Here's a way to group people by sect in order to stereotype and marginalize them (just joking, jeez):

LOL.

At the time, I used a free Google tool that was killed, called Google Fusion Tables. I didn’t find a good enough free tool at the time to replace it, so I has to abandon both the Customized Trust Network and Our very own sMerit Network Picture.

That was a really good tool and I have no idea why they decided to stop supporting it. I just remember counting down the weeks until it went down, for several months. It was my favorite tool for looking at merit networks. Press F to pay respects.

The good thing that that tool provided, besides ease of use, was filters, so you could focus on a meriter/merited/trust(er)/trusted and see the network filtered to a specific circle, whilst having all the data on the tool at the same time.

Weren't they pissed at theymos and mods at some point for not banning the rainbow troll? Seems the relationship might still be strained a little bit even though he's banned now.
Usually, trolls that take a long time to get banned will piss off the residents of any board. Just think about how long some users last.

Another interesting thing was that the left-most cluster (Collectible OGs) doesn't touch theymos, starting with minerjones as the chokepoint.

I don't actually know if Coin Trader is Filipino but based on where he is in the diagram I'm just going to assume that he is. There's a few people that don't really fit any category and just kind of float about. They are the most individualistic out of all the DT - or else the least trusted - one or the other.

Another interesting thing was that the left-most cluster (Collectible OGs) doesn't touch theymos, starting with minerjones as the chokepoint.

possibilities open up here now the theory of DT gangs is visualized here.
I agree...

Another awesome data analysis tool by you. Looks like you are a data and statistics junkie just like DdmrDdmr  Cheesy I remember he (DdmrDdmr) had a similar tool for merit transaction maps. Not sure what happened to it.

I wanted to know what those names that keep appearing in the top left corner signify whenever I point at certain circles. For example when I point at DireWolfM14, the name Timelord2067 though not complete appears in the top left corner

Thank you.
This is a bug. I wasn't able to fix it :/

I created this chart showing who trusts who in the DT network

When hovering a username you can see who trusts that user (and who that user trusts). In theymos case, these are the 50 users that trust him. You can see a popup with the DT strength.
Click in the image to see the chart or just follow the link below.

https://public.flourish.studio/visualisation/5420994/

The more users trust a user, the bigger the circle of that user.

Chart created with data from Default Trust Breakdown (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;dtview)

I included only DT1 members and removed everyone who DT strength is smaller than 1.
