Found more info on listing a coin on cryptopia.

https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Forum/Thread/1484

basically you need to pay 2,500,000 DOT to get it considered Sad everyone complaining about the price...

trading on cryptopia 2,500,000 DOT = 9.5btc

If we can raise the funds then i'd be happy to put forward the application. But that is far too much imo for listing.

It is subject to developer review, but if rejected the DOT will be returned so could be resold and redistributed back to people.

Thoughts? I think exchanges are overstretched atm and new listings is not high on their agenda.

Fuzzybear

cryptopia add fee is prohibitive
they were adding for free year or so back

best one I found at cheapest price is 1.5 btc
https://tradesatoshi.com/addcoin
have to register free account to view

because we are one of oldest coins in existence, ethical and tried and tested dev, PLUS the sole exchnage for devcoin and they will get some decent trading fees we may be able to negotiate with them for say 1btc? or maybe a donation of devcoin from dev fund?
as all of us sending small amounts of btc is not cost effective plus if we have any!
it is as a buy now on page but someone ideally dev can email them?

and now btc is so low may be the best time before it goes back up, we need A exchange

one last option and tbh is good to have anyway in addition is a decntralised exchnage, quite a few of them. i know barterdex/komodo add free
but I think CLTV time verify etc needs to be coded in meaning a soft/hard fork for some coins, not sure if we have anyway dev?

Can't hurt to try.

If we need someone to take liability, then I'll pay whoever takes liability at least 10 litecoins, since devcoins currently don't have a defined value. I doubt that a clause for the developer to take full financial liability if there is a problem with the coin can actually be enforced, and I've never seen one used. However, it is a risk, and that's why whoever takes that risk should be paid for it.

how can I help?

You would have to agree to be the official devcoin contact on applications to exchanges. You would get paid upfront, but there is a financial risk, which is why no one else has agreed to take this position.

You would also forward any technical questions that you can't answer to developers on this thread.

There has been a roll call of the DVC Admins since the New Year and a couple seem to have fallen off of my map. That is, they don't seem to be on the Admin Mailing List nor are they listed on this forum. If anyone has any way to contact Cryptoaddicto or Melodiemuse please pm me.

Thanks!

I am working through the list of exchanges Unthinkingbit listed and here is the results so far...

1) https://cryptocoincharts.info/markets/show/abucoins - email application sent waiting reply
2) https://cryptocoincharts.info/markets/show/bittrex - need an account on the platform, they currently not accepting new users, new listings application depends on it. 4) https://cryptocoincharts.info/markets/show/c-cex - Friendly good response - You can add the coin on the voting page - https://c-cex.com/?id=vote . We will surely consider adding it if it gets enough votes and the community shows enough interest. 2 - We can list a coin or asset for 5 BTC immediately
5) https://cryptocoincharts.info/markets/show/coinexchange - Warning   This exchange is flagged as being out of service for one or more of the following reasons: their service has stopped functioning, their service might be a scam, the level of business transparency is extremely low, they are unresponsive to their customers, or their customer support is non-existant

Fuzzybear

We need an exchange for devcoin, and the more exchanges the better. I suggest a 60 share bounty for the first person(s) to get devcoin on another exchange, 40 shares for the next person on another exchange, and 20 shares for the next. Any objections?

The proposal got four agreements, there were no objections, and four days have passed, so it is officially in force.

I looked over the list of cryptos charted on cryptocoincharts:
https://cryptocoincharts.info/markets/info

and went through the list and found that the following traded high numbers of altcoins:
https://cryptocoincharts.info/markets/show/abucoins
https://cryptocoincharts.info/markets/show/bittrex
https://cryptocoincharts.info/markets/show/bleutrade
https://cryptocoincharts.info/markets/show/c-cex
https://cryptocoincharts.info/markets/show/coinexchange
https://cryptocoincharts.info/markets/show/cryptopia
https://cryptocoincharts.info/markets/show/etherdelta
https://cryptocoincharts.info/markets/show/exmoney
https://cryptocoincharts.info/markets/show/exx
https://cryptocoincharts.info/markets/show/gateio
https://cryptocoincharts.info/markets/show/hitbtc
https://cryptocoincharts.info/markets/show/kucoin
https://cryptocoincharts.info/markets/show/liqui
https://cryptocoincharts.info/markets/show/livecoin
https://cryptocoincharts.info/markets/show/poloniex
https://cryptocoincharts.info/markets/show/quoine
https://cryptocoincharts.info/markets/show/tidex

Also, Guido mentioned:
http://coinsmarkets.com/support.php

Please get devcoin on any exchange you can. The listed exchanges are just places to look, devcoin on any exchange would get the bounty.

I sent another application to Livecoin to ask if they would be interested in listing devcoin.  Their reply quick and short:

05.02.2018 22:36
"Hello
Sorry, we can't take new coins right now."

I opened a ticket with https://www.cryptopia.co.nz about listing devcoin on their exchange, so will see what they say.

Fuzzybear

I think it is just a general clause to try cover themselves should the blockchain fork they want no responsibility for funds lost through a fork or network going wrong.  The actual wording for who can submit a coin is open ended:

"If you are a developer or official representative of cryptocurrency asset, you can add this asset to Livecoin."

So a non developer can submit the application and thus the last clause is invalid? Tongue

I feel it is more them saying if u submit a coin and it is not updated to  avoid security issues or forks and the exchange looses funds then you are responsible for not informing the exchange to update the code or providing the updated code with security patches applied as and when... they want to cover themselves listing any coins that are just going to be under developed and left potentially leaving security risks on their serveres running the exchanges etc...

Anyway I sent them in an application and got this as a reply:

04.12.2017 09:44
Hello.
Unfortunately, this year we no longer accept new assets.

...so maybe try in the new year? or should we look around for other possible listings?

Fuzzybear
Thanks FuzzyBear for the information.

I see only one tough problem with what they ask:

..
In case of losing clients' funds due to forks or technical / security issues with block chain or node, you as developer will bear financial responsibility.

This is open ended, and could wipe out anyone. It is unreasonable, and I don't think any developer has ever given out money if there was a problem in their code. Is that language in the application for other exchanges?

I hear that Streemian is closing completely. That's probably going to put a damper in this Steemit project.

Streemian is just one tool of the many available. Look: http://steemtools.com/
If you want similar functionality try steemvoter.

I'm familiar with SteemVoter. It serves a different function than Streemian. What are you using for your trail project now?

I'm using a custom application that helps me save time, but I'm still reading each post prior to upvote and resteem with @devcoin.

Other than curation, the most time consuming part is to gather the list of members, since such data is not indexed in the blockchain, it requires to monitor all transactions.

If you have a custom app that functions more or less like Streemian, then I would be very interested in possibly using it for my own purposes down the road. What I like about Streemian is the ability it provided for other Steemit users to follow a trail. So for example, if you followed my trail, you could automatically upvote everything I upvoted (posts and comments). So, does your tool do that? If so, I'm very interested in it Smiley

yes
It is still not clear to me how I should set up my Steemit account for this. The video posted earlier is a general (long) explanation of the Steemit board, not something describing what we want to do for Devcoin here.
