I have made most of my money in the stock market and on bitcoins by ignoring the common wisdom i highly suggest doing your own homework and deciding for yourself what you think. Also, remember bitcoin was not designed to be an investment vehicle. It should be considered very risky as an investment. try using it as a payment system instead. You may find that for every $100 worth of coins you buy to make purchases on the net, you will be able to spend $110.
If you are in the U.S., you also owe an additional 20% of any profit you make on bitcoins when you convert back to dollars. Spending is better. Lastly, you should never sell bitcoins at a loss. Hopefully you are only investing what you can afford to loose; that is rule #1 in investing. If that is the case you may want to let it ride. Selling at a loss is locking in those losses. Holding means you still have a chance at profit.

Every time i sold ( trying to rebuy cheaper ) because most of the topics where talking about capitulation, China ban, Russia ban, etc, etc, etc, finished loosing.

Don't listen to those FUDs and don't panic sell your bitcoin Wink

i think a lot of us share this experience.

put 90% of your stash in cold storage and do it a way where you cannot access them within 72 hours (when panic mode.)

put 10% on an exchange and play around with a quarter of it when you feel the urge to sell.

I don´t have many btc and i believe in the crypto currency.

Every time i sold ( trying to rebuy cheaper ) because most of the topics where talking about capitulation, China ban, Russia ban, etc, etc, etc, finished loosing.

So i will HOLD, if it gets 10k or more i will sell and if not i will keep them in a pendrive till usb ports be obsolete.

Maybe it´s just i´m a noob trading, but needed to tell my experience.

Well, everybody does that mistake. Just HOLD!!

The first step is to stop looking at the past graphs and thinking "how much I could earn if I sold and bought optimally". Noone can do this. Then some patience is needed and of course ignoring all these "panic sell" and "CCMF" posts. In fact both will happen when noone expects them.

Personally I've implemented a very simple bot, which can react, when I'm offline. My strategy can be summarized by "It is better to earn 10%, even if others earned 50%, than loose 10%". Seems to start working after initial period of learning.

Bitcoin tends to go sideways for months and then spike all at once, so day trading to increase your stash ends up being like: make a penny make a penny make a penny LOSE A HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!!!.....make a penny make a penny....

just hodl.

Ha, I agree with this. Day trading is too risky, and if the price spikes due to some good news and you ain't got any Bitcoins because you're tied up in some other coin or fiat, you're fucked.

Don't be hard on yourself, common sense doesn't seem to work in this current bitcoin environment. Patience is the key, just wait for an opportunity rather than forcing one to happen.

buy low then say sell with a min 10-20 points higher then you bought it,

think at the fee you pay also : so here is a sample :

moon is now at 0.xxxxxxxx8 that is low buy how many ? your choice but not to muts i gues ;-)

then sell at say 0.xxxxxxx20 if you think it will reach that 20 otherwise sell them a bit lower or just hold them at 20 do not think i want that now ;-)

long term investments are ok, short terms is that you have to sit on it watching : buy / sell /buy/sell  ( like some panic sellers/buyers )...;-)

the " xxxxxx"  ar fiction its the end numbes what counts here

This is why it's risky trading this way. You might get lucky, but if the price ever skyrockets and stabilizes at that point you'll be left out and unable to buy back in.

I feel a lot better being paid almost entirely in crypto and buying fiat when it's cheap than the other way around. Fwiw.

Yea Apolo29, I can share your experience.
But I guess losing isn't as bad as one might experience in the moment it happens. In the best case it helps you to gain more knowledge and understanding.
I now work hard on building up my own mind on the circumstances we are actually in, and appreciate those rare post of some members that don't follow all this "choo choo" and paint a bigger picture.

Thx for your post
