Faucets don't make half of that even with VPS parallel schemes multi-sites. It's actually negative until you just have hundreds running and killing your VPS and even then it's change if the host doesn't kill you with metering.
The thing with "skills" is the budgets for gigs on those freelance sites everyone keeps throwing around pay $1.50 and hour if you're lucky. They've all been third-world IT labor hubs for years now. At one time it was easy to cover at least $11.00 an hour just coding or designing from your bedroom..
I don't want to sound arrogant here, but I probably know more about the economics of the "gig economy" than most if not all people here. I actually retired in my thirties capitalizing off it and some side-investments and still watch it all daily looking for revenue and earning models. Basically it's all in the toilet because averge bids being by third-world people drove everything down, and it's so cheap people are willing to accept some bad results.

it's hard to find a single way to earn 0.5 bitcoin monthly. you can get a normal job and spend all your salary, or half of your salary to buy bitcoin, but that's quite a brave action. better do multiple ways of earning bitcoin to make it 0.5 per month, so faucet maybe one of them.

You need skills. Either to bid on a big project which takes a few days to complete and pays that "much" or to take some smaller jobs and reach your goal step by step. With no skills I think it would be hard, captcha solving or relying on Sig. campaign won't take you far.

You should have the skills indeed. Google may help you regarding that, there's a lot of tutorials here in the internet related to online job that you would learn for free. Start from the basic which is the most important. Nothing is impossible if you have the will and dedication.

For all people suggesting "skills" and being paid for IT work. Third-world developers are doing large scale contracts for a couple hundred dollars(around $1.50/Hr) on freelancing sites, and non-freelancer-site contracting requires selling your service through a social network or face-to-face negotiations usually using a large portfolio.
I'm not saying any passive or interactive alternative exists though. I'm just pointing out the state of the freelance coder market.
You'll see large bounties in the security field but these are for reverse engineering and exploit development which is pretty much the hardest thing there is to do in the field of hardware and software engineering and is hit&miss even for the well known talented people. World class talent can spend three-weeks or more in IDA Pro looking for code-execution bugs and come away with nothing..

It is not possible to earn 0.5 BTC per month by selling legendary account. Because it is not possible to become legendary within one month. And it is also against TOS of Bitcointalk.org
So think realistic way, accumulate BTC from every possible way you can do (by faucets, giveaways, signature campaign, offering your skills, etc.) - it may become 0.5 BTC at the end of the month.

signature campaign is very difficult to get 0.5/month, unless you have multiple accounts that are enrolled of the signature campaign. in addition to the signature campaign, maybe you can get it from the giveaway, because sometimes the giveaway was not unexpected, you can get 0.1-0.5 or more, I myself ever got it. but it would be faster if you have the skill and sell your skill.

I do have portfolio and live demo of my work is available. I'm just thinking that it could either be the title I used or it could be that my thread not getting much attention?

Try developing a software and apps that are not yet available in the market. Or maybe find your own niche here at the community. By offering unique services, in no time you'd be able to gradually increase your earnings and you'd be able to enhance what skills you have.
Its still hard to earn that in just offering services. Its not everytime someone will get your service plus you also have other competitors so still it would be hard.
