Their games are totally freeware? That's gotta be worth a few coins... Looks fun thanks!

I downloaded and installed a game but it had no 'quit' feature. I tried every key combo I could think of including Escape, Alt-F4, but it would only let me play, never quit. So I had to end it using taskmanager (where I saw it was taking up 300mb for a Mario game). After that I decided to uninstall it and found it came with no uninstall program or shortcut, so I had to go via Control Panel, Add/Remove. I want my 2 btc back.

Every saint has a past. Every sinner has a future.
I am going after: http://softendo.com/

They create great freeware games based on, among others, Nintendo characters. Google pagerank: 4 Type: Organisation

I am going to give them all the money from the pledges.

That was quick, since I have been talking to them for a while now and also, my friend owns it. Wink

There is a Bitcoin accepted here logo now in the menu on the left, which leads to the Bitcoin dedicated part of the website quoting the address for donations. Please send your pledges directly onto the address quoted on the softendo donation page.

EDIT: I totally recommend playing these games, I think they are as good as the originals.

I'm going to contact http://www.adafruit.com/ Adafruit Industries sells diy electronic kits.

+1 Adafruit is great, I think ladyada is geeky enough to be interested in bitcoin Smiley.

Adafruit Industries sells diy electronic kits. They are also a big hub for the open source hardware movement (definitely a group of people we really should try to get on board).

Wish me luck.

EDIT: Feel free to go for them. Take the bounty. Good luck.

I've asked the guy who runs the WSUSOfflineUpdate website - and he wrote back that he'll look into it Smiley

WSUSOfflineUpdate lets you update all your windows PCs from one download - handy if you're an IT guy who has to do rebuilds regularly and don't want to have to click through Windows Update to do them - or if you have copies of Windows that don't update because the end user loaded a dodgy copy.

I've just asked GetUp, one of the biggest activist/protest groups in Australia:

https://www.getup.org.au/donate/

I don't agree with many of their campaigns (although occasionally they get it right, like with internet censorship laws), but still think they're a good candidate for bitcoin acceptance.

Anyone working on a big, high profile organization, like Greenpeace or Médecins Sans Frontières ?
I think that if we can convince one of that to accept BTC, effect will be huge.

Sorry molecular, I looked at your post without thinking and assumed I already sent you the 5 BTC. Just sent them today at 12:10 GMT

An understandable mistake, since I stated I received the money Wink

Confirming that I received your 5.00 and therefore all bounty for GFP (organisation) except the 0.1 to 1.0 from cw.

Every saint has a past. Every sinner has a future.
I'm writing to erowid.org right now Smiley (501(c)(3) organization)

http://www.erowid.org/donations/donations_bitcoin.php

They've added bitcoin as an option for donations Smiley (This page is accessed via http://www.erowid.org/donations/donations.php and clicking the bitcoin logo near the paypal/mastercard/etc logos)

What do I need to do next?

That's great news! Please let us know your Bitcoin address you want to use to receive the rewards.

I can accept the reward at 1EVgCG92j2pCbxJ9tBhvwMHWV8BsGzKX7o

Thanks Mahkul

Any chance you could get them to actually MENTION Bitcoin here: http://www.erowid.org/donations/donations.php

I know there is a logo in the bottom, but when you click donate it doesn't come up as an option at all. I don't think anyone will even notice that they accept Bitcoin unless they already know about it. There should be something like they have there for paypal on that site - like a link saying: Donate through Bitcoin.

Hey molecular, I accidentally sent you 5 BTC in addition to the 2.5 BTC I pledged. Can you just send that on to the next person to win a bounty?

Here's the tx:
http://blockexplorer.com/tx/bd072e89532c6bec31a756a82aae086ad1b8c2528bd031799d94b892e4513b6c

Confirmed that, received 5.00 and 2.50 from the same address 1PwoVg3CxMkF7uVuAn3gcCp4SAtXwyxKuR

I falsely assumed the 5.00 were from Mahkul.

Sure, I can also just send it back to you, that might be less confusing. Address?

So my receiving table now looks like this:

04/03/2011 17:31  2.50 Blitzboom (to address in spreadsheet)
04/04/2011 02:57 10.00 dirtyfilthy (to my signature address)
04/07/2011 04:05 3.00 slush (to address in spreadsheet)
04/07/2011 16:04 2.50 probably bittertea (to address is spreadsheet)

This probably means, if I didn't make a mistake, that mahkul and cw have not payed.

Mahkul, your spreadsheet (http://www.editgrid.com/user/mahkul/Earn_BTC_for_promoting_Bitcoin) says you gave me the bounty. Can you doublecheck that and maybe point me to the TX so I can confirm that?

How do you get that windows with all the extra transaction details?! How do you enter comments?

Run with the -debug switch. Bitcoin does a lot of unnecessary extra stuff when it's in debug mode, though, so I don't recommend running in that mode all the time.

I think you can only add comments through bitcoind.

There’s no reason to put Bitcoin on a seperate wiki page that noone will see. I’ll pay when it’s a default payment on https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Donate_or_Pay_Dues.
Okay, I'll discuss it with them in-person when I get a chance.

I'm going to try to get Noisebridge (http://noisebridge.net) onboard.
Success!
https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Bitcoin

Send my coins to the address in my signature.

You just registered an account there and make a page for bitcoin. Doesn't mean anything.

Plus, it would be bad if they see us as spammers.

Read my PM, there's IRC logs of them approving in there. They don't approve of public logging, though, thus the PM.
