There are many ways that you can do to earn free bitcoins, I will share some of them:

Using faucets (But you need patience, they pay low)
Using dice games (They are risky, be careful)
Doing online tasks like microjobs
Participating in airdrops, bounties

You can try those ways. But remember to be careful because scammers are everywhere.

I would rather invest than promoting ICO project because for me it is just a waste of time and resources.However, I suggees OP to join bounty that pays btc. It may not be enough but at least that is some sort of incentives to learn here about cryptocurrency. One should not focus on how to earn but in my opinion it should be on how to learn. Getting educated by the system will keep one away from getting scam keeping away from swindlers avoiding things that you know how they work. We can say that no swindlers could do swindling if no users will deceive by them.

I've read some reviews of this method of earning and it is not as easy as might be. You cant just download a torrent and left it seeding and earn. To be able to earn you need to download all the time new torrents, delete what you have download and download new. Minimum withdrawal amount is 1000 BTT.

A guy downloaded about 100Gb in one day and left it seeding and earned about 3.5 BTT ~ $0.001. I did not checked this information, nor I have tried to earn with that method. But if the numbers are true, it is not worth spending time.

If you are looking for a good value crypto currency with your rank then the only option is to buy that in exchange.

The best method to earn minimum 5$ is to do job there is no way someone will give you money without given any effort you need to work for it you can also learn trading but its too risky and you need capital to start.

Typical newbie stuff where you earn a few cents worth of Coins, that's where I started kinda annoying if you are working on Faucets because there are too many pop-ups, and if you have a very slow connection you cannot get fast those captchas, still the best is to be a good writer and be good in bounty hunting, it takes effort and time, but once you stumble a good project you'll make a lot.

These are more fine ways of earning bitcoin or cryptocurrency. Its like an odesk style actually. But what you mentioned about referral is not a good way cause most referral earning are ending up scam. The best way for me so far is to do a signature campaign. They paid bitcoin on a weekly basis but of course the competition on joining on these campaigns are really hard. You must be good on writing and can understand most about crypto and forum.

But aside from that, when you have talent or skill like design or arts, you can improve that and make a services here. A lot of talented users were able ti monetize their works.

I bet that earnings will not suffice to buy you a meal. It is because that bitcoin faucets are relatively small and many are ignoring for it to claim. I do not know in other country or places but here in our place even collective faucets were not good. Maybe those faucets before that bitcoin is not yet that expensive will do but i.think no one has saves their faucets before and able to save it until now. If they really do then they are the lucky ones to be able to save bitcoin faucet and earn late part or now for saving it.

here is the list.
Bounties = if you want to participate you can see many different bounties in altcoin bounties section
Airdrop = mostly you can see it in social media posted in different groups sometimes you can see it also in altcoin bounties sections .

Faucet = its give you only a little amount so ill never try.
Services = if you have skill to offer in a project and they need it they will pay you a token or btc for that service you provided.

Except for airdrop i dont think others are free, they demand activities that you have to be fulfill in full. If you have done faucet you will know it is so tedious and reward is ridiculously low. Even some airdrop will requires a quantity of certain coin or submission of wallet and other data, some of those airdrop can be ridiculously low in value that the transaction fee will be more than the airdrop. Sometimes $20 investment from your daily earnings could be more rewarding after some weeks than the airdrops.

Searching for any legitimate websites or applications that claims to pay you is hard.
Those legit sites are most commonly where you need to do lots of things before earning cents.Like faucets, but it takes time to accumulate funds for withdrawal.
You can join bounties and airdrops. Some of them are profitable but still, some are scams.

If the offer looks too good to be true (big payout), it usually is.
Start with little, accumulate few $, do research and invest. It can pay off bigtime

It does not make sense for an exchange to show users ads when they are from regions that are excluded from participating on the exchange (for example due to US sanctions).

There is no guarantee that bounties and airdrops will finally be released to you as a bounty hunter at the end. We have cases of projects scamming and running away without meeting up promises to bounty hunters. It is also a big risk doing bounty except you have your research carried out to know the type of project to support.

The only thing that I know about earning cryptocurrencies for free or without any investments are joining bounties and airdrops. But you still need to make a research about it before joining because bounty campaigns and airdrops could be a scam, even you can only earn small amount of profit from it.

On Child Boards Bounties you can find good, quality projects managed by trusted people (managers). Besides there, you can also search for Child Boards Services. In of course managed by someone trusted. You don't need to worry about scams there, but the ranking and number of members is very limited. Not everyone is accepted.

Thanks a lot @BitSat19 for the suggestion and i will try to do so. IMO, 2017-18 might be the best time for bounties and now it's sure to be the worst.

member: "Sell your skills". I suppose it's the best way to earn money (doesn't matter, real money or crypto).

Common approach: the more rare and of a high demand your skill is, the easier is the way to sell it and earn money.

Bounties = if you want to participate you can see many different bounties in altcoin bounties section
Airdrop = mostly you can see it in social media posted in different groups sometimes you can see it also in altcoin bounties sections .
Afliate program (refferal ) = you can find it in gambling sometimes exchange that give a certain amount for refering a friend if i remember kick token have this know.
Faucet = its give you only a little amount so ill never try.

You can try Faucets but those are not reliable and mostly all of them are just a waste of time because all you can do is to wait for the right time to claim your prize, Signature Campaigns or Bounties are the one that will brings money to you for sure especially there are a lot of them you can find, all you need to do is to search, last is Trading but it needs a lot of knowledge and you must educate yourself a lot first so that you can avoid losing a lot of money.

I would not recommend using mining sites. Chance that your PC will be infected with hidden miner is huge. Besides, mining sites probably is one of the most popular ways to scam. Since you are already aware about the scams happening online I hope that you also realize that there is really no "free" method here online because mostly what you'll only be seeing are sites about faucets which technically you'll not be earning from them and you'll just be wasting most of your time trying to claim and claim back from them. Aside from trading and mining your only option is of course offering your skills (e.g. photo editing, web design, escrow) as work in exchange for their cryptocurrency. Right, It's very hard for us to earn big money from scratch, I believed that there's free money you can get here but it is on giveaways to try the services of a new exchange, gambling site, mixer, and other services. But you ain't earning a lot from those without having capital. You need to work to earn money by using cryptocurrency.

There are many things you can do here to have a work especially if you have some skills or you have a certain portfolio that certain hiring for a project like a social campaign manager or other things like programming jobs. On that way, you can earn a decent amount of bitcoin with a good value on market prices.

Nothing pays better than a skill you are very good at. Use your existing skill or gain a skill so that you can make some capital to get yourself into trading or anything that can be scaled. Trading is a good way to earn cryptocurrency but it requires huge patience and knowledge about it; master it.

If you run after that penny earning ways then you will always be running into low earnings, you'll never scale.

Anyway, how much are you guys earning with brave a month?

OP the best thing to do right now is to get something you like to do or acquire a skill of your interest like web designing, graphics designing, article writing etc There are a number of websites which offer crypto paying gigs in exchange for your services

Websites like Gitcoin, bounties.network etc some of them don't even require reputation to be considered. So long as you are good at something they want, you will earn some crypto.

Sadly, there is no much free crypto these days.

Just like you work for it, just like on fiat when we work for something or sell something we get fiat money.
Do some things that you can and try to ask cryptocurrency as payment, something like that.

I dont know if there still affliate program in bat this way you can earn larger amount than waiting for ads to popup.
There is also other way in brave like if someone tipping you bat tokens from website or channel you own.

Brave browser will earn you BAT like sunsilk's suggestion. You earn BAT while surfing the net, that's easy to do.

There are more to gain from bounty campaigns like in social media and article campaigns unlike those in faucets though. When the market becomes stable, prices of altcoins that you earned are also going to have higher value.

I suggest you play faucet and airdrop
because it is suitable for beginners.
although the faucet is now decreasing its rewards but in my opinion it's good, and maybe this airdrop will take a bit of time, in order to get $$ we have to really look for the paying airdrop because this year there have been many scamming airdrops.

and you might be able to sell things around you, for example shoes, t-shirts, bags and so on and then pay using cryptocurrency, but it's a bit difficult to build trust from the start, but it's good enough in my opinion

here is the list.
Bounties = if you want to participate you can see many different bounties in altcoin bounties section
Airdrop = mostly you can see it in social media posted in different groups sometimes you can see it also in altcoin bounties sections .
Afliate program (refferal ) = you can find it in gambling sometimes exchange that give a certain amount for refering a friend if i remember kick token have this know.
Faucet = its give you only a little amount so ill never try.
Services = if you have skill to offer in a project and they need it they will pay you a token or btc for that service you provided.
