An escrow system has to be fully automatic.
I agree on this thought, it should be fully automatic for all transactions. In case of any complaints occurring, it will be manually transferred to review the situation. If every escrows is done manually while transactions are completely clean, it becomes a system of delays
Even if you are buying/selling physical goods?

No matter what type of transaction it is, automatic payments are always comfortable

Well, that's a whole another ball of wax. I don't think multisite has much to do with the marketplace functionality.

It will handle 'also lets logged in members to sell items as well.' part.

You don't need a multisite for that. To allow 'logged in members to sell items' you need some kind of marketplace plugin. Take, for example, classifieds or auctions site.

An escrow system has to be fully automatic.

Why, exactly?

I'm pretty sure that the users won't appreciate having delays while buying/selling.

Even if you are buying/selling physical goods?

I created several marketplaces with the following steps in the trading process:
- The seller or provider put goods or services up for sale on the marketplace.
- The buyer finds the product and begins the buying process.
- The buyer pays the price amount to the escrow account (marketplace owner).
- The seller is notified that the product has been paid for.
- The seller sends the product to the buyer's address.
- Delivery time ...
- The buyer confirms that he has received the shipment.
- The agent pays the seller the amount from the escrow account (minus the market commission).

Everyone goes home happy!

I doubt that the marketplace turnover will be so large that payments cannot be made manually.

By definition, an escrow is a financial arrangement in which a third party holds and regulates payment of the funds required for two parties involved in a particular transaction. What is stopping you from being that 'third party'?

An escrow system has to be fully automatic. I'm pretty sure that the users won't appreciate having delays while buying/selling. In case of any problem, a dispute can be made and only then, a the administration can manually interfere.

I need some suggestions for an Ecommerce plugin that can be easily setup on a website, allows different forms of payments and also lets logged in members to sell items as well. Thoughts and comments are more than welcome. Thanks again.

Maybe the multisite feature can do the trick so every member can setup a store and sell items.

Well, that's a whole another ball of wax. I don't think multisite has much to do with the marketplace functionality.

WordPress Multisite is a version of WordPress that allows you to run multiple sites off a single installation of WordPress. It makes it possible to run a network of sites under a single WordPress dashboard.

I would like a marketplace where people can buy and sell stuff like an ebay type add on without the bidding option but a bidding option would be kind of a cool add on as well now that i think of it. Does woo commerce offer member selling as well?
Bidding part really sounds interesting. It would work if you integrate some sort of signed message from the wallet, so you can confirm the user who has access to the wallet has some balance. Or in order to place bid you would need to charge them a simbolic fee (1000 sat) to be able to bid and the users that do not win would get 999 sats back. It is a business after all :p
Good luck with the project if you're really serious on starting.

That's a good idea, thanks. Do you think people would be interested in that?

Well is will really depend on you on how you will promote/market your website since any e-commerce website where the customers have what they are looking for will be successful all it takes is you having an audience for it. So after developing a good marketplace website, all your legal papers to operate are complete, and your payment system is ok I think the last thing for you to do is to promote your website so that you can actually have some products being sold in there.

Help me understand more clearly here, are you trying to say that you are allowing users to pay on an e-commerce website and then make these users have the option to sell some items as well woth that plug-in? Why not just create your website on your own that works as a marketplace where users can make their products available at the same time they can also buy other user's items? Similar to what Ebay is doing. At least in this way you won't have to complicate things as you will be focusing on just your website which I think will be easier for you.

Well i think we would need a like paypal payment processor...
Just to be clear so I understand what you want to do... do you want to add crypto as form of payment? Or want to use fiat? Because OmegaStarScream had a few valid ideas but did not see any reaction from you

The plugin above is probably not what you're looking for and I'm pretty sure there are none meeting your requirements. If you want your users to be able to buy and sell between each other, you would need to assign a wallet/address for each user and also implement an escrow system, something like Paxful. For that, I would suggest you take a look at BitGo API (it comes with a price). If you find that to be uninteresting, you'll have to run your own node. Either way, you'll have to do some coding (or hire someone).

I don't think that's what the OP asked.
He specifically stated that he was looking for a WP plugin. I have suggested some plugins that will allow him to create marketplace functionality on the WordPress.
What type of billing (or escrow) system to implement is a whole different thing. Why, for example, can't he be an escrow for his users?
