Human capital development and industrialization is one of the key to obtain our economy full potential, this can uplift and strengthing the economy by investing in industries and promoting local productions up to a standard which will reduce total dependant on imported goods and possibly reduce it costs, this man inhumanity to man is being caused by the political leaders who have only there personal interest as a top priority and ignoring the interest of the masses.

Let there be a passionate increase in political aspiration in the mind of the younger generation without a corrupt mindset which will possibly make a positive impact in the economy because political leaders are the driving force of any  economy growth and development of any nation by properly utilizing the  allocation and performing their political obligations.these could also be a way forward to a better economy.

Which way Nigeria no be the major thing to ask, but the main thing to ask nah which way our president, why I talk like this be say this our country get everything both oil, gas and some kind of chemicals way I no fit even make mention of them, but na our leaders dem nai dey spoil this country because only them won pack all the money and better better opportunities them dey they this country for them selfs and their families along.
So I dey try to talk say this country no be the issue but nah the leaders inside the country be the issue. For example, just assume say this country nai motor and driver dey, dey drive us and the driver dey drive us dey go we're we no know, even say we dey talk self them no dey hear, so my brother, just hustle your hustle as long as say no body worry no body, one day e go better.
This our country no poor at all, even as say we dey talk say we no get money self, at least 1 or 2 dey account and we still dey find more, so this country no poor at all, if you think say nah our own worst pass make you enter google, then search for the top 10 poorest county in the world, then you go know say Nigeria is fucking reach bro, but our bad politicians them just spoil everything and even as that self we are what we are.

Normally as we dey talk about this country the main people wey we dey refer to na our leaders wey nor dey try, and just as u talk our contri no poor at all, na just stingyness and wicked heart of man naim make am be like say we poor, apart from crude oil this contri get other natural resources, and many of Dem na for the northern part of the contri e dey. Sotay some of the government for that side come dey illegally mine our natural resources come dey go sell, no be thief be that ? Sometin wey Dem go do make e benefit everybody Dem wan keep am to Dem self, and Dem go come the south follow us share our oil money for the entire country and if any body do illegal local reffinary ( bunkry) Dem go arrest am come burn em pots to, but Dem go dey their side they thief wattin no good.

This nation is all we have, and while politicians allocate billions of taxpayer funds to foreign trips and renovating the residences of the Vice President and the President's Chief of Staff straining the economy. Procter & Gamble, a major consumer goods company, is set to discontinue its ground operations in Nigeria, opting for an import-only business model.

Procter & Gamble, renowned for products such as Oral B toothpaste, Pampers, Always sanitary pads, Ariel detergent, and Gillette shaving sticks, cites the challenges of operating as a dollar-denominated entity and the prevailing macroeconomic conditions in Nigeria as reasons for its strategic shift.

It's noteworthy that this move follows GSK's departure from Nigeria earlier this year, leading to a surge in medicine prices. Similar repercussions are anticipated for Procter & Gamble's products—Oral B toothpaste, Pampers, Always sanitary pads, Ariel detergent, and Gillette shaving sticks.

The primary concern is not merely the likelihood of price hikes but whether Nigerian companies exist that can step in with high-quality, locally manufactured alternatives once Procter & Gamble exits the market.

https://nairametrics.com/2023/12/06/pg-to-dissolve-ground-operations-in-nigeria-revert-to-an-import-only-business-model/

https://africa.businessinsider.com/local/markets/pandg-to-end-manufacturing-operations-in-nigeria-reverts-to-an-import-only-business/55d8rp8#:~:text=P%26G%20produces%20a%20range%20of,toothpaste%2C%20and%20Gillette%20shaving%20stick.

Oo wow, we're even losing foreign investors now. Meanwhile, were not producing anything. At this rate the country may fall into the depression phase of business cycle. The problems of this country is even way to confusing to understand right now.

I want to ask though, currently, prices are soaring, value of currency, dropping, meaning inflation is increasing and money in circulation is increasing. If we import wouldn't we be reducing the money in the circulation, leading to more value, or is there a twist somewhere that I'm missing ?

Let's try to say the real thing behind the entire veil covering on what transpired in this kind of situation, first of all, know that P&G is not he only international reputable production company in Nigeria, there are numbers of others, so i don't see ge needs of them taking a leave al because of their on affordability of complying to tax demands, i can remember all goods items in the market are changing in price each day, a good product that is manufactured by P&G is the oral B we all use, this has been once sold at #250 and bow you will have to secure one at #850.

Now the question is, are there other companies making same decision on leaving for same condition of tax payment, there should be more within their inner circles they need to uncover, this was nit to cover up for the government, but there are more other sources of income that the government make use of in nation building other than tax.

let us just flashed back to the endSarz operation what happened then?
Those whom we are called freedom fighters all came out and fought in mass but that happened same these politicians who still gives orders for the army's to till our innocent freedom fighters yet there were killed and their blood rolled on the face of Nigeria even till today no Government no president and not even the current president that came to asked about this dead Nigerian whom were trying to give a new breath to our we Nation. And today you expect me to start thinking about Nigeria what happens and what not happens or possibly to come out and start deliberating on discussion about whom is on seat or not, maybe to start thinking about the situation surrounding us how things are moving on with us and every household.

In addition to you descripancy, Not only that. What about the recent presidential election that just happened earlier this year. After the riging of election, people protested for justice but uptil now nothing to show forth. The military, judiciary and executives are currupt. Emagine the the final judgement on presidential election all the barrister who came for the case slept off in court. That is to tell you that it was a planmed predicament. So sincerly speaking to succeed or live longer in this economy one must need to astain from anything government. If those people  that where killed in endsars protest were given second chance to come back to life, dey would run 10000km far away from anything Nigerian politics. In this our country nothing like freedom. It is only sing in national anthem and pledges and Nigeria coat of arms but not in reality.

Those who did not participate or witness the Nigeria Civil War are drumming for war but those who witness it are saying that peace the best thing every citizens need in the country and not war. And as you talk am na so di matter just be. Nigeria is nothing to talk about and na di government of the county na dey kill di economy day by day. The Nigerian youth was trying to revive the economy of the country but the internal body supported by the external bodies kill the economy of the country. When UK and UN was saying eyo and eyo but at the end nothing come out and everything die down.

The police which the country youth was trying to help was seriously against the youth again so there is no need to help any force man because they are their personal enemy to themselves.
Anything war me seriously dislike am because then for we community earlier 1999 to 2000 we know what we passed through in the name of dispute and war due to political disagreement between to bodies, so I won't encourage anything like to war to come again became we can manage the situation like this than to call on war.
First we must learn to fix our country no be another pipo go come do am for us, only thing be say we people just take away serious onto say any small thing dem don tuama run go there go hide while people wey dey here dey dry for their own side because of personal interest without putting the people first instead them take their families as first.

Do you know how many people that are leaving this nation at every single moment?
Those who had already given up on this nation and yet you are there still telling me you totally disagree with me, well there is no issues but is the right time you wake from the dream you are because thinking about this country will only mal you.

Smartgold01 I totally not in agreement with you saying no body go hear us and you not putting eye in anything concerned your nation though is your opinion but that can hinder freedom fighter no nation that move forward when the citizens refuse to condemned illegality and irregularities there must be a joint force to surmount the situation ,if every body come out in Mass condemn the act our politician opposed their lawnesss attitude and all manners of wrong doing the nation will be a change one at your ability do the one you by condemning evil to the hearing of others as publicity one day it will get to the ear of the evils doer and the joint force can conquer them.
Weti Smartgold01 talk na true and me I also support am, to be a Nigerian youth is just like a curse, and just like the crude oil is a curse to the Niger Delta People. And if you want to know am I go tell you. This statement is made in almost all di Niger Delta universities mostly from di angry lecturers. After the colonialism, Nigerian graduates were employed automatically to any company of their choice and dis continue after the civil war. Then from the 4th Republican leaders everything changed and they become over corrupt so they only siphon the national wealth to themselves and forgetting the citizens to suffer with their fate.

A graduate in Nigeria is nothing but a begger. And those who are smart in education, knowledgeable in computer and other skills survive in the country so as Smartgold01 said I am not also interested in anything in Nigeria. I am just bearing the name a Nigerian. I don't even think we Authority to regulate goods and services because sellers are just increasing prices the way they like.

The primary concern is not merely the likelihood of price hikes but whether Nigerian companies exist that can step in with high-quality, locally manufactured alternatives once Procter & Gamble exits the market.

This is very sad and not well to speak of for the country. This companies have existed for several years and are major consumer producing companies, there withdrawal of operations from the country will cause market turmoil which will lead to hike in price of this goods in this current economic hardship the country is facing. They could be some other companies that can step in and take the lead but they are likely to misuse the advantage by producing lower quality with same price or same quality with higher price or at the worst case lower quality and higher price.

I also saw in the news that the president was imploring multinational companies not to leave the country and that his administration will provide a conducive environment for them to operate in the country thereby removing all obstacles that is stopping them from having to run a smooth business in the country. I think this news came following the withdrawal of operation from the famous GSK company and others (Procter &Gamble) who are intending to leave the country.

At first I didn’t understand this thread  but after seeing other replies on this thread  I now understand. Politicians eating our sweat and call it paying of tax sending thier kids abroad with our money and gives us all kind of promises without fulfilling them. Government using us sleeve politically

As a result of this our youth have no other choice but to involve their selves in all kind of immoral act such as stealing, kidnapping, murdering and also rituals just to make ends meet for their families and to live a comfortable life even Graduates not employed but find their self doing minor jobs like bus conductor, wheelbarrow pushers etc

I also noticed Nigeria has crude oil but do have refinery to make it useable for us and they send it abroad for them to refine it and import it and make just expensive for us to buy  I think Nigeria is not do anything.those in authority are just the country for their benefit

There are barely enough local alternatives that can replace the quality that is offered by these companies. Many Nigerian companies that would have been able to do so and step in to fill the gap have been suffocated by the harsh economy that is in the country. Some have been forced to reduce the quality standard of their products because of the high cost of raw materials so they can still be able to make profit to keep their workers. It is not easy to run a business in our country, it is also tough for big companies as it is for small companies.

You know, going through this your thread, It just hit me how worst things actually are. We actually aren’t attracting anymore investors but are actually, expelling them and this time, not by crisis related issues but, the crisis in our economy.
Someone on social media puts it this way, while investors are leaving because of unfavourable government policies, the president is out there looking to bring more investors. Well as it now I think that maybe the Asians won't mind stepping in to compete with the local market.

The thread no dey difficult to understand , it is as simple as the reality on ground that investors and companies are not feeding it easy to do business in Nigeria and they are packing up to go to countries around west Africa where they can produce at more cheaper rate so that they can maximize their profit and also give customers satisfaction.

Me I no blame these companies as dem don try even produce small brands of their products and to the extent companies don reduce quality and quantity but nothing is working. President wey dey carry himself go look for investors, na for on top which amenities dem go take operate? As if the price of fuel don reduce, light wey be the most important for production matter no kukuma dey, so why him dey do the more you look the less you see to Nigerians.

Anyway, these companies exit from Nigeria no be today, e start since electricity begin be problem for Nigeria at least since 30 years ago, only say e con worst now. Michelle wey dey do tire, PZ and plenty other companies dey leave.

If government fix electricity only self, you go see companies dey rush come Nigeria, no be government go waka go find dem.
