in my opinion bitcoin can not be replaced by any coins, although there are many more stable coins and more advantages than bitcoin but bitcoin is still bitcoin, bitcoin will still be the king of cryptocurrency, I believe it
required are a miracle and a tremendous demand in a very large market against both these coins. but to say all that hard to do. Although the ethereum and ripple themselves include altcoin which is nice. but a comparison with bitcoin will very much and bitcoin would still lead them.
I had come across similar topic like this several times on the forum and my respons would remain the Sam base on my understanding and opinion it is a no go area. Don’t even think about ripple meeting BItcoin, it is an insult for someone to even think about it for once not to talk of beating BItcoin. Go to bed
I don't think Ripple has a chance of ever BEATING Bitcoin, to me it lost its cryptocurrency value the moment the investors took control and seem to make influential decisions about it, its under too much control to compete as a crypto. Ethereum however may have a chance at the top in future, the technology its operating in is the latest and the transaction speed so fast, factors which will oversee its climb to the top. its high growth potential project is yet to be fully utilized too, the more market cap its gaining the higher the chances it has
With every coin giving its own level of returns, and bitcoin realizing so many dreams till date, why would one even want any alt to beat btc. Bitcoin has become synonymous with cryptocurrency, like google with the internet, and i think many here hope it remains that way.
I don't think this kind of thing will happen. Although bitcoin is now plagued by the problem of transaction congestion, Bitcoin is also seeking solutions, such as Lightning Network. If the problem is fixed, the position of Bitcoin boss will not be shaken.

It's hard to imagine any altcoin will beat bitcoin. I think bitcoin will not be replaced, not as a blockchain but as a symbol of cryptocurrency, so I think people will not let it happen.
ETH and XRP both are good potential and promising coins in crypto marekt and i think ETH have good chances to best BTC but it will take long time because ETH is the ruler in crypto market after BTC and lot of ICOs are depended by ETH and its a updated prject

that was Smoking the author of this thread?! you mean overthrew bitcoin? are you insane? It's never gonna happen, I don't know what's gonna happen to make it happen. No doubt it is real but it is more than difficult.

In my opinion, the current bitcoin, more as a symbol of a digital asset than its function as a cryptocurrency.
Probably technically, bitcoin has been defeated from ether and ripple, but bitcoin will still be the first because people will buy bitcoin because of its big name, not its function.

It may be very difficult to know the intrinsic value of a cryptocurrency, at least for now. So I think an absolute crypto price is determined by consensus. And it may be easy to predict the possibility of ethereum and ripple to replace bitcoin, just by looking at the amount of supply.
Bitcoin took 9 years to reached where it is nowadays. I think ethereum and ripple will also takes years to atleast reach the position of bitcoin today. And also it needs a lot of investors to rises its volume and the possibility to surpass the bitcoin
Both in the marketcap and volume their prices and volume must search for quite sometime ahead of that of BTC it would take a price surge that completely outpaces BTC and for a sustained period of time has been waived its do markets are not always rational and currency everybody knows about simply put your coin is a brand name that fuels all the buzz that captures investors interest and eventually moves prices and volume and cryptocurrencies markets. So Ethereum and Ripple can beat BTC.
It will take longer to win the recognition and support of most people. It requires more advanced technology and requires a faster and more secure transaction status. I think they can't beat btc in a short time. The value of btc is recognized by the vast majority of people, but if btc stalls, I believe there will be more high-quality cryptocurrencies.
To be able to beat down BTC then eth and xrp need more support, more support means more valuable, but I doubt xrp will got the support because it's centralized, if Bitcoin keep on develop and upgrading then I don't see any other coin could beat down Bitcoin, if the investors need to choose between those three, most of the investors will choose btc

Do you really think that ethereum and ripple will beat bitcoin and replace it to the number 1 spot?I have dreamed before that ETH is the number one and bitcoin was next but again it was just a dream after all.

Ripple is centralized.
For ripple it would take to actually be a cryptocurrency and not a centralized ecosystem that can mint tokes on a push of the button...
