I think no. Bitcoin is the historical cryptocurrency and the leader of them all, which means, even if it's clearly not the best one technically speaking, it'll lead the way for many years still. This is also my mindset, I would love to have many bitcoins that to have a lot of altcoins. BTC is the king.

Maybe. The value bitcoin has is given by the buyers and sellers. As it has no specific use except trading and speculation, it is bound to decrease in value in some moment of time.
But with much more to see, we can aspect the rise of bitcoin for one more decade.
True. Bitcoin still has potential to raise more in terms of price. Bitcoin is still used as main trading pair for altcoins on many top crypto trading exchanges and platforms. Also most of the ICO’s that launch accept either BTC or ETH. BTC needs some update on its scalability issue because during market rush the transactions usually get stuck for long and also the fees are too high. If bitcoin is to be adopted globally its development team needs to work on it.

The creator of Bitcoin, whose goal is the common currency for the whole world, but I now find that people see it as hoarding, similar to gold. Currently, the number of Unconfirmed Transactions is less than 10000, not much compared with the beginning of the year when the Unconfirmed Transactions amounted to more than 200k. So it's not a matter of concern

BTC has got a confident position on the current cryptocurency market thanks to this hype. But I don't think that it is overhyped because its potential is not opened till the end.
Bitcoin is still a fast moving crypto, even after so much ups and down bitcoin is still no.1 in the list. So I don't think it is a hype because of it's potential lot of people showing interest in bitcoin that is the result of which some are saying it as over hype.

I don't see Bitcoin as being overhyped, it has a value as a reaction that is proportional to the amount of people that are coming to use it as a store of value. It has transformed from a payment system into a store of value as more people have adopted it for use. The growth of Bitcoin really happened as a respons to the Banking crisis that has been ongoing since 2010. Afterall who wants to pay for the privilige of storing their money in a bank account?

This is what we call adoption and it is not hype. This is actually a good sign and it improves Bitcoin's future. Hype is something involved in ICOs.

Is Bitcoin overhyped?

Nope, bitcoin is not overhyped because it make its own hype. Can you imagine from a decimal price going up, up to $20000 hype right. Trust on bitcoin, and the cryptocurrency because it will not fail you. Buy during Dip then sell high.

There always will be the hype around BTC and the crypto at all.  It doesn’t matter how hype is large, if you really know what to do in the current situation.

In my personal opinion, BTC did get overhyped during the time it reached an ATH price of $19,000 some time in December 2017. Even the cab driver and our neighbors are talking about BTC back then, and even my co-workers are also asking questions about it. They thought of BTC as a way to have a massive gain which was a mistake that made their funds go down the drain during the downfall resulting to panic selling.

If even Bitcoin was like that, for now I think the price is very fair. So we don't want to be concerned about the overall falling, it can be just another correction that is needed for the market to be stable.

Is Bitcoin overhyped?

hard to say.
bitcoin has the value we want to give it.
but according to many specialists, for the moment it's not expensive.
they even expect it to increase sharply in the near future.
Nothing in the world has a pre decided value. Value of any object is usually what buyers are ready to pay for it. It’s simply the game of demand and supply. Higher the demand and lower the supply, more is its price. As demand of bitcoin increased overtime, so did its price.

I too think that BTC will increase sharply in near future as the bearish market is soon to end and institutional money is on the edge ready to flow in the crypto market.

Personal opinion, friends who don’t like, please ignore my words.
Although Bitcoin can be used for many purposes, it has changed from a cash substitute to a merchant's hype, and this change has lost his original meaning! Its value has begun to distort!

During the last bull market it was very obvious that bitcoin had been overhyped, that is the reason that when the prices crashed, it did so in a brutal way, faster than we anticipated but I think at this time, bitcoin is back at a good price that does not make it look overhyped, it is actually going steady at this point which means it is at a good place

If you read a bit on crypocurrency history, you should know Bitcoin is probably the least overhyped coin in the crypto world.

I wouldn't say it's the least over hyped coin - there are plenty of bitcoin maximalists out there that think it's the only coin worth owning, and there are lots of altcoins that are hidden gems

I do think though that bitcoin doesn't get the hype it deserves, and conversely, plenty of poocoins get lots of attention when really they don't deserve it!

Is Bitcoin overhyped?

Some are saying that. But, as for me, it is not. As a matter of fact, I would even consider Bitcoin underappreciated. It is very clear that the world needs a form of payment that will be direct and hassle-free. It is not the kind of payment that we have right now with our fiat money, which is basically owned by the banks. A decentralized form of payment in Bitcoin is clearly a gem and yet the media is portraying it as a bubble. People should learn to take a look at the amazing technology of Bitcoin.

No bitcoin is not overhyped ,bitcoin is really popular because of its uses and benefit it will gain, the bitcoin started launched in a little and then the years come and it started to soar high in the digital world and began to establish its purpose as an investment and at the same time as a digital currency circulating in the internet and gain popularity.

I do not think and cannot say bitcoin is overhyped because bitcoin has been in existence for a while as the oldest crypto and it also has a very good value compared to altcoin. Although the transaction speed may be slow and expensive but this is due to congestion in the blockchain. Bitcoin is the best and will remain the most valued crypto.

No. If you think that then you haven't done your research. Countries around the world such as Venezuela have experienced a 95% devaluation in their currency vs USD. Countries like this need something like BTC as a store of value. BTC has so much potential, we've seen nothing yet.

@Taner if you think no one has been working on BTC then you're completely wrong, it is constantly being worked on!

Countries like Venezuela are good examples why the world needs cryptocurrencies, there are many examples around the globe where currencies get massively devalued, mostly due to low interest rates and printing money to have liquidity in the market. These things work only in the short term and then at some point it collapses. You can see this happening with the turkish Lira too right now.
