How long it takes to make a profit depends, above all, on the authenticity of the project! Because a lot of ICO's are frauds. The second condition is the technical progress of the project. The third is whether the promotion of the project is extensive. Generally speaking, if a project is real, it will be profitable in about three months at most!

How long does it take for an ICO to be profitable?

No one knows for sure as it depends on the team behind the ICO if they will be active or not and of they are following their road map so as to fulfill their promise. If you are looking for quick profit in an ICO then you should find one that is hype because most likely that ICO will be in demand when it is listed in exchanges. When they have bounty campaign and you check the participants of the campaign and many are high rank members and then there are many members of the community then most likely you will see a profit upon listing but if the ICO is not that famous then it might not be that profitable upon listing but if the team keeps the development then eventually you can see profit maybe in a few weeks or months.

Not all ICOs are the same , there is some ICOs I bought in and my tokens was x10 the moment it hit exchange and there is some was x5 and some -50% and some even -90% , I am still hodl one of my ICO which right now only 10% of it original price , bottom line there is no rule or strategy to predict that .

That's right. No one can predict for sure what will happen to the price once it hit the exchanges so better have a plan beforehand so that you will know what to do wherever the price will go. The important thing here is you shouldn't invest in an ICO if you can't afford to lose it or wait for the time you will have profits from it whenever it may be.
predicting ICO is very difficult sometimes projects that have been given extension schedule because the sale does not arrive at hartcap must be extended. but patience in investing is the second capital after our fund

There is no specific time when can we make profits but surely the price will start increasing when the real platform starts developing but sometime it is based on crypto currency market also.

Theres no specific time on where your investment on ICO would be profitable since not all the time where coins do hit exchangers do guaranteed it would hit up higher than the ICO price since there are cases where it do drops lesser than on the sale which would end up for its investors to be on loss and would wait up for the price to recover. As an investor you should really not expect anytime to profit and this is always part of the risk.

Well we  can not specify date span for sure, but when a coin reach the market and have value in exchange/s you can start making profit out of them like the sell and buy thing, all you have to do is to be smart!

How long does it take for an ICO to be profitable?

it depends on the project if it has a working product, if the team is active especially when it comes in marketing, it would be easy for that project to be 100x in a month or two.

as long as the project is still running with its roadmap. if the project goes according to its roadmap and roadmap for years then the coin will continue to be profitable. or a month or two weeks after ico can also be called a profit if many people want that coin.

in the bull market it usually takes few days or some times hours when the token hit the exchanges it price usually go up almost all of the time But lately in this bear market most of tokens after ico when listed on exchange their price dropped drastically for example faceter listed today on hitbtc and trading at 1/4 of ico price. So if you believe in the project i would suggest hold on to it for couple of months and let the market recover.

the coins will usually drop and not pumped whenever it gets listed on any online exchange , it is because bounty hunters will sell immediately whatever they hold but we shouldnt get discourage seeing the price is going down , instead we can still use this advantage to buy more coins on that exchange to be able to afford it in a cheaper price because there is still a possibility that the coins can pumped again in the future.

no time is certain, indeed we can see or know the roadmap and its plans, but it is not a guarantee.
once the distribution is done and after the token is listed on exchange, that's the time to get a profit from ico.

note: token price in market equal to ico price or reach our selling price target.

Profitable you mean value on the market or their token price increase? ICO project's token can have fast value as long as the target day they reach their soft cap they will start submitting application on some exchange for it to be listed likely 2 months is the most shortest date you can gain a token to have a real value on the market, 6 months is also considerable but more than that--- I'm not sure.

The faster they buy the tokens and take it ro hardacp the faster the successfulness of the ICO.

Your question is somehow vague, perhaps a little explanation could help me understand better, but anyways I think everything depends on the ICO especially its adoptation by the mass cryptocommunity. The faster they buy the tokens and take it ro hardacp the faster the successfulness of the ICO

It depends on when you sell and the time for profit making is different for several interest group. For the bounty hunters, the day they have the opportunity to sell their coins or tokens, that will be the day they make their profit this is also applicable to those who bought mainly to be sold on first opening in the market. But for holders long term, it worth it the project funded is viable enough to distribute profit for holders of their stakes which is depending on how profitable the project is.

In this bearish market, many ICOs are listed at a price lower than their price during token sale. But it doesn't mean that the price may not soar later, you have to watch out on this indicators; what pain is the token really solving, how strong is the community backing it up,  how does their roadmap look like (will there be news, FA) that may spike the price, partnerships, exchanges where the token is listed too,? All these matter.
Some tokens are best sold immediately when they are listed or at least take off your capital and some profits and leave some tokens for the future. Who knows you might be holding another Bitcoin or Ethereum.

If you are sure that the project is a very good one and has the strength to retain its stability and potentials of yielding more profit if you hold on a long term, it can be profitable if you decide to hold it on long term depending on the amount but if it doesn't look promising to you, it is better to sell and then reinvest in another project or better still buy altcoin.

How long does it take for an ICO to be profitable?

It depends on your profits range but most of the projects will fail in the long term hold so it is better to sell them even if you made little profits in short term. But if you think it is a good potential project then keep hold them for years because the prices may go to moon.
