I was thinking about starting a YouTube channel regarding Bitcoin/crypto. I was thinking I was focusing on tutorials about the wallets, recovery, services, etc. (It won't be anything related to price analysis).

What are your thoughts and what do you think are some themes that you think should be covered?
This sounds like a good idea if you intend to accompany information with infographics. I think the first videos should be general and address the topics of what is Bitcoin and Blockchain, why Bitcoin is not a Ponzi or other scam, pros and cons of online and offline wallets etc. I think it would be nice if the videos were 5-10 minutes long and covered key theoretical and practical information.
As for questions I'm interested in, the first one is a practical tutorial in the Lightning Network, and the second one is on using Bitcoin without intermediaries like wallet companies (I believe that's what Satoshi had in mind). Good luck!

Do something like @aantonop does. Make a series of Q & A videos, you can start by covering the basic questions for crypto regarding wallet, keys, etc. Or you can use questions being posted in this forum to make your videos.

I personally would love to see a new channel that discusses new questions so maybe I'd go with the second option instead of explaning from the beginning.
That's really a good idea. Discussing the major threads posted here on the forum might just also create an active discussion on the youtube platform.
This also clicked an idea in my mind. @OmegaStarScream you might also have a weekly 'Live' session where you would answer the questions asked by other live users.
Also, you can then post that video in your 'Live Sessions' playlist too. Let it also monetize your videos.

That is a great idea because sone of the users here are not good in understanding when only reading they need some visualized tutorials to understood what is the topic all about. Most of us here understand a single topic without watching a video because that called "common sense" are present to us. In somehow making a channel all about cryptocurrency well become successful and it will help other users to improve their knowledge not only but also in other social media.

You may disagree with me but starting only the bitcoin channel for education purpose may not give you much audience as most the people know about these topics and for the newcomers, there are enough educational tutorials already.

You have a large fan following and based on that you should cover three aspects in your channel .

- Cover the latest Crypto related News
- Your analysis on current market conditions and future predictions ( Not price related but Technical Analysis)
- Bitcoins Basic tutorials

This way all the people both New and experienced in crypto will be attracted towards your channel and you will always have something to say about  Smiley

If you are starting a channel, I will suggest you to work for removing misconception in peoples mind.
Bitcoin is not created for you to buy it today, hold it, and then sell it. The main purpose is to do payments.
Today "Speculative asset" part is dominating the technical part and people forget the real use case of its creation.

This is a very good idea. I think one of the most over looked topics are the creation of secure paper wallets. Many people buy coins and they either store it on the exchange or platform where they bought it or in online wallets and storing coins on centralized services are NEVER a good idea.

You do not OWN coins, if you do not control the Private keys. Wink There are many tutorials showing you how to make Paper wallets, but the methods are far from secure.   Wink

Please make a tutorial with a air-gapped method on hardware that would never touch the internet again.  Wink

I am interested with this, I can personally say that I am so dumb when it comes to wallets. Back when I was a newbie what comes out to my mind is how the wallet works.

This are my suggestions:

How wallet works and what is your recommended wallet.
What is bech32 address and how to have one and it's difference from the old classic wallet that starts from 1.
What is multi signature address.
How to secure my wallet

Basically I want to know all the topics that relates to that hopefully you can add that one to your channel sir, Thanks in advance.!

I think you should cover everything , because what I have learned till now is from hit and trial method and common sense , it would have helped me a lot if there was any channel like that.

Wallets
Keys
Sending receiving
Trading
Converting to cash and vice versa
Local Bitcoin.com usage
Bitcointalk.org
Forum's
Tasks
Faucets
Trading Bitcoin for other cryptos
Choosing a secure wallet
Segwit enabled wallets
Lightning network

There are many 🙌cover them all please it would really be helpful for people out there , great thing that you are thinking of doing this , best of luck.

please don't take this the wrong way but before you start doing that first think about what you are really doing different that makes others choose to watch your videos and not others that already exist. for example Andreas Antonopoulos has fantastic videos that cover almost everything and I think everyone agrees that the contents are excellent so what sets your videos apart?
a difference could be if your videos were in a different language for example so that people who don't speak English could still benefit from such videos.
although "recovery" that you mentioned can be a unique topic since I have not yet seen anybody do that. but the other two (wallets, services) already exist.

This is a very good suggestion. Experts can contribute much to providing audiences the right information and could even add some advice to those who want to get started with crypto. Though there are already articles all over the internet about topics in relation with it, I think watching an interview or a discussion about the basic up to the complex part of cryptocurrency is a more interesting way of conveying the ideas. It could catch more attention because you could really see and hear the expression of the speaker which makes the viewers feel like they are also in that conversation.
This would help, but I don't think this is the best way. I feel that Omega needs to create something that kids and teens could understand instead of focusing on adults. Beginner friendly tutorials which cover the basics initially:

- What is Bitcoin and crypto?
- Importance of crypto
- Advantages and Disadvantages
- Bitcoin vs FIAT
- How do you buy a Bitcoin?

Once the basics are covered, he can proceed to the advanced tutorials like LN, segwit etc.

In my opinion, interviews with experts and projects, general analysis, exchange, KYC etc. A general channel about can be very useful.

But this interview with the pros can be done not necessarily on the pilot episode. You can also start from your ideas of tutorials then as time goes by, the topics will go up the next level. One step at a time.

To OP, I wish you will pursue your idea of creating the YouTube Channel tackling things about crypto. It's a great idea. Count on me as one of your subscribers.  Wink Kudos!

What are your thoughts and what do you think are some themes that you think should be covered?

i rarely visit Youtube to learn about bitcoin myself but since a lot of others do it, that can be a good service to offer people.

these are the topics i would cover in that order:
1. a simple and short explanation of what bitcoin is as a decentralized currency while avoiding any kind of technical explanation or even mention of mining and things like that. stick to use cases and how to use.
2. a more detailed explanation of how bitcoin works, some hits at mining, general information about cryptography and how it secures bitcoin,...
3. explanation of bitcoin characteristics and mostly differences of it compared to traditional currencies and payment systems (reading the first page of Satoshi's paper can help with this)
4. now we start with "how to use bitcoin.
4.1. what is a wallet, what it holds (private keys not coins)
4.2. what are different types of wallets and how to choose one.
4.3. general security guidelines to keep a wallet safe.
4.4. explanation of fees (eg. it is calculated based on size not amount) in two steps: a) using the wallet to set the fee/byte b) using other tools if your wallet isn't doing a good job
4.5. maybe cover LN wallets too
5. some general information about how to buy bitcoin and the risks of trusting centralized exchanges
6. introduction of some merchants and basically what you could buy with bitcoin.
7+. depending on your own knowledge of bitcoin and interest of your audience you can always cover more advanced topics too. eg. cryptography, bitcoin script language,...

Actually, there are people trying to do that. But some of the contents are very empty and meaningless. What exactly do you plan to create? Just informative and educational? Or is it also fun, effective?

In my opinion, interviews with experts and projects, general analysis, exchange, KYC etc. A general channel about can be very useful.

Well no matter what, they will see some information about ICO and investment as soon as they learn about cryptocurrency.
So add some knowledges for newcomers about ICO or any other kind of investments. Especially things that will make them lose their money like ponzi scheme and trash ICO/project.
Tell them the history about BITCONNEEEEEECTTTT  Grin

We dont want them to have a bad first experience in cryptocurrency market right?

What are your thoughts and what do you think are some themes that you think should be covered?

For me this should be included for newbies to be aware.

1.How to secure your wallet.
2. Ways on how hackers steal money in crypto. (Phishing site, Malware, asking for private key etc.) - This will provide security awareness and be cautious when entering details about wallet.
3. Reviews and suggestions were to buy/sell crypto safely.

Inform us once you start making your channel. Good luck OP.

I remember I was only 14 when I joined this Bitcoin community, I have faced some scam and had lost my pocket money but I was able to figure out almost everything about how Bitcoin works and how to use the wallets. If you make tutorials on them maybe is good for your YouTube channel but I believe it will be much more effective if people figure it out themselves. although you can tell some higher topics which needs attention such as private key backup or multi sign wallets or even about Cryptography and how it is used to save their wallet. There are a lot of topics but you are going to touch only the new topics because that will help you grow your channel.
