It has long been known that there's a turf war between the NSA and the CIA. Edward Snowden is probably a triple agent, primarily working for the CIA. His role is, first and foremost, to hurt the NSA. (And to give the Russians some fabricated American intelligence, while simultaneously trying to absorb real Russian intelligence, feeding it to the CIA.) So far he's obviously succeeded in hurting the NSA's public image, at least. Keith Alexander is stepping down, and there's talk of reducing the size of their budget as well.

We also know that Satoshi Nakamoto left the BTC project as soon as Gavin Andresen revealed he was visiting the CIA. Gavin even stated publically that this very fact probably was the reason Satoshi left. And Gavin's revelation came right after he received the alert key from Satoshi.

So why did Satoshi seemingly become so angry that he left the Bitcoin project for good? Was it perhaps because Satoshi worked for the NSA all along? And when Gavin revealed he was visiting the NSA's arch enemy, the CIA, Satoshi realized the Bitcoin protocol would be compromised in some way? Or maybe Satoshi just was a true cypherpunk all along. Either way, he didn't seem to like the fact that Gavin visited the CIA.

At the very least, Snowden should have free Internet for life.

I have read that mainstream Wahhibi does hold that he was not one of them, and of course his series of 30 some pamplets 'extending the koran' could not be considered proper.  There is no two ways here, either Sayyid was mainstream ( and yes that means the M Brotherhood also is and was), and Sayyid's main disciple, Bin Laden, also represents mainstream Muslim or they do not.

But yeah, I don't need to be lectured to by the resident Muslims / or those in such cultures about proper interpretation of what is screwed up.  We all know they got a bunch of screwed up nonsense.  I don't agree or care about using the phrase "salafism" instead of Wahhabi either.  What nonsense.

Nobody has to learn or even care about what is salafism. At this stage, after what the Quran says, after 1400 years of history of Islam and recent events, the burden is on muslims. If muslims are worried for having fingers pointing at them, then take the initiative to weaken salafism and supress terrorism

The damage he has caused for the US foreign relations is very significant and severe. So I wouldn't say that he is not even worth a drone strike. But that said, if the US does something like that, then it will be far more damaging for them.

I can't say either of the poll options adequately describes my feelings about him.  I think most of his information simply serves to confirm suspicions about domestic and international intelligence gathering.  It fixates on the NSA, leaving out the names of dozens of countries involved in the exact same work on an international level.

As a third-party contractor, his security clearance itself is likely the limiting factor in regards to the nature of leaked information he can release.  The NSA knows what he had access to and is prepared for the release of any sensitive information.  If he would've tried to infiltrate the NSA via a recruitment or promotion out of a third-party setting, the damage he could've caused would've been much more substantial.  He would command more than a 1 year grant for temporary asylum in the depths of Russia.  He's not even worth a drone strike.

Then what about the verses in Quran which says that the infidels should be eliminated ?

Learn what is "salafism", and you need to know, that a muslim must newer make nothing against any established government, they make attacks, and that is against Koran.
In this light "salafi terrorists" are not muslims, they are a totalitarian sect.

I would like to see Snowden tried publicly, but sadly he will disappear in a cloud of secrecy while protesters are dispersed in a cloud of gas.

Their are only a few people that truly understand what freedom of privacy and every one here on bitcointalk show understand why Edward did what he had to do.

Yes! your right about him moving to Russia, Russian are the number one spy's in the our Country but DO YOU honestly believe he will have a fair trial Our government is corrupt and will do what ever it takes to fulfill their agenda (weather your democrat or republican).


We the people should fight for freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom from government controlling our every phone call (why do u think Obama does NOT have an IPhone ).

Yes, you can put Snowden down for running to Russia BUT what would you have done (what... Run to Obama and tell him you found a secret ??)
